I am very old (be 80 in Nov) & I'm hoping to make my 1st trip to S.D. bowhunting for Antelope. I've gathered a bit of information (N.W. corner) but welcome anything anyone wants to contribute. I have went to Wy 5 times (last in a very wet 2019). Only waterhole hunting for me so I need info on "all the close ones" haha.. I requested a walk in map from DNR but never received (thats about all i've done in Wy). It's a state I have never bowhunted & have thought about this for several years now.. It definatley will be my last Antelope bowhunt if I'm still kicking. I'm no novice on public as I've done DIY in 15 states for various animals (I've been very blessed). Any general info greatly appreceiated. I will be accompanied by my adult son. I'm good to walk about a quarter mile each way (knees shot from lots of body abuse when younger) 8 years military, Mile & half mile + cross country runner in school & a bowhunter since 1956.. Interested in camp site areas (I tent it) & waterholes of course.. Thanks & good luck in your bowhunting this fall. Any general info..

Lots of campsites on BLM. Everything else you need to know is at the link including maps of the area. Good luck on your hunt, you'll have plenty of company out there.

I know some of the walk–in in the northwest corner of state fairly good. If you're having trouble finding a spot close enough to the road let me know. Don't forget to overlook cattle water tanks as well.If you need a place to camp in town let me know as well.

I'd highly recommend talking to "Dakota" Randy Routier about going with him at his family outfitting business up there. The public can get very crazy up there with the "unlimited" NR permits.

Thanks fellas. I do plan on a trip out to that area b/4 season (luxury of being retired) as will be up that way to see friends & probably shoot a big tournament in Yankton. Randy, PM me your info too. Again, thanks.. I'm no stranger to public hunting & others around (15 states public over the years)
