That's pretty impressive Pat. Looking at some of the beans they are starting to looks pretty picked over. Have you walked the field to see how much is left? Also, do you think you are drawing more deer yearly as they become aware of the food late season or is this pic pretty typical?

With that many deer I doubt they will last long! Another storm coming as well so they will be out in full force.

Craig, this is pretty typical. I had a pic from last year with 70 deer in the frame. Same time of year. I had 30% of my beans standing when I disked last spring. Although last year I planted 18 acres of beans, 0 corn, this year I planted 14 in beans and 4 in corn. I also found about 15 sheds in that field last year.

I counted 58 different bucks on my trail cams last year, of those 58, 53 were confirmed survivors. This year I had about 48 bucks ID'd but 45 survived that I know of. More bucks last year, but bigger bucks this year.

Is the 4 acres of corn still standing? If so, how much are the deer eating the corn compared to the beans? Do you have any cameras monitoring deer entering and exiting the standing corn? (if still standing corn).

Corn was wiped out by late December. Between the deer and coons and birds I didn’t expect it to last long.

Were any of these beans fenced or all open for summer eating?
