Lots of shots heard around me. Kinda surprised since I heard no shots during 2nd rifle.

Yeah, muzzleloader used to be pretty big in my area, we used to do organized drives back in the day, even killed a few... I remember one day one year we had a blast, one guy ran out of speed loads... We laughed as guys missed and trying to load for another shot...8^) Great memories...

Pat - Since muzzleloader just ended, got update on mature bucks survival?

All my 4+ bucks survived. Waiting for them to calm down and start moving in daylight. All my neighbors have packed it in but it was crazy how many shots I heard around me. Last year I heard 2, this year 30. I can’t believe none of mature didn’t get killed but they sure are freaked out! Completely nocturnal.

Yesterday I did my first trip to scout new locations based on what I experienced this season. One of my Amish neighbors was filling his feeders. I also saw that someone was hunting there on 1/2/23. With a bunch of kids, they have a lot of landowner tags and will bait and hunt their 11 acres right up to the last day. Also, another neighbor was down at their 13-acre property. The beauty of baiting.
