This forum was pretty dang informative 10 years ago or so, it's basically worthless now,....what a sad deal.

Yup, not sure where everyone went but the state forums seem to be obsolete.

Totally agree with you. Then again I don't post much on this forum either, so I'm part of the problem...

I check it almost every day, but unfortunately there's not much activity.

Yup, it's pretty sad. The New Mexico page over at MM has more traffic than this page, but it's traffic has dropped off quite a bit as well. My best guess is that some of the traffic has migrated to Facebook and other short form social media outlets. As an example, the New Mexico Bow Hunters group on Facebook has 8200 members. I would be surprised if this page ever had that many viewers. Bowsite has certainly been a valuable resource for my hunting, but I've also had good luck with Facebook. I'm all ears if there are other places I should be looking.

Wow, I don't use FB, but 8200 members for NM Bow Hunters there is an astonishing # of users...

It really is. Just imagine what we could do if we could harvest even 10% of them for P&Y or a state bowhunting organization.

UBNM has a facebook page, tell that group about it and maybe someone will take up the reins.

Couple other hunting/shooting forums that suck up more of my time have banned unit-specific info, a policy that I approve of more and more. So yea, "state forums seem to be obsolete." (Even if I don't get to chat with my BS/MM real estate agent or WSMR security guys).

Banned unit-specific info? How does that work/is that monitored? Never heard of that, although I agree the availability of free data online has ruined a LOT of hunting areas...

Mod's catching the new signups posting "where's the honey hole" questions. I think they went through and purged some other detailed threads too. Lots of threads with details about "how to hunt in a national park," just not about "where to find elk in GMU-6B." Offending post is usually replaced with "Nope" and a polite admonition to read the rules and then become part of the community first. I know there's plenty of of-line/PM chat between the guys that have been around a while and who demonstrate wisdom.
