Yes, my son had good fortune. Sometimes things go your way He had a stand in that woods already for he was trying to fill a doe tag in the early season. When he got the cell cam pic that morning he figured the buck might bed down in the area because of a standing corn field and a wide grassy ditch line that borders the woodlot. When he got home from work he headed to the stand. After settling into the stand, he grunted a few times and the buck came to investigate. The buck came within 20 yds and the rest is history. On a side note, this goes to show how technology plays a role in what stand a person might choose to hunt on any given day. Times are a changing.

Evening of 10/22. He had been showing up on camera off and on since he was in velvet. He disappeared for about 3 weeks when bait start to go out but started showing up again about 12 days ago.

Not a giant, but I’m not a bone collector either. 10 yard shot from natural brush l pulled together, always makes my heart beat go up a bit.

Yes, I took the shot with him walking , his leg must have been up when the arrow stuck I heard a loud crack and he busted off through some heavy brush. I thought I heard him crash over the steep bank but on inspection of hit area I found the arrow broke off with 6 -8” of penetration backed out and called my nephew with his track dog in. Turned out the buck only went 50 yards and piled up. Busted through the elbow knuckle and center punched the top of his heart and stopped on offside rib. 58# recurve 560 grain arrow .

Rattled this one in last weekend......came in tearing up trees, making ground scrapes, and all bristled up stiff legged and licking lips. He was not happy! Haha. Really fun encounter!

11/10/23 This guy and four other bucks were on a hot doe. For whatever reason this guy gave up the chase and funneled through a fence gap from over 400 yards. Great looking deer everyone! Be safe out there!

Proud grandpa here wanted to show my oldest grandson's first deer, shot Sunday morning of Youth Season... Finn is 11-years old, his smile shows it all, he is now hooked...8^)

Z, he had it scored using the Buckmaster scoring system and it scored 206 7/8. He plans on having it scored by P&Y once the 60 day drying period is over.
