What a nice night to be out in the woods. I jumped more than a dozen walking in on those dry leaves. Seen one antlered deer besides. Got settled about 1:40 not a favorable wind. Kind of north by northwest today. By 230 had deer filtering in, some small buttons and some does. Followed by a nice wide broken up 7, high white rack, impressive. He checked all those deer, vanished, those deer filtered through out of range. It went on like that till 3ish. Some does we're feeding towards me, and another 8 point shows up, pushing those deer around, and I was ready to draw, he ran that doe off.
15 minutes later that white rack 7 comes back, running the 8 out, and pushed those does to new jersey. Thinking that was that. Another small buck shows up behind me, same deal, checking some more further away, they are really not ready yet. Sun is going down, 10 minutes before end of shooting light, I had this one come into range and my quest for another 5C deer ended. Easy track job and this one gets donated to a needy family.
Stopping by the butcher to drop it off, and finish the donation he said the same thing, the does just aren't ready yet.

They are at that. On their feet cruising, checking and double checking.
