2250 This bill amends restrictions to crossbow size and weight when used for hunting. Has anybody heard of any updates? It was in the Senate January 2023? Thanks

FYI - In NY, bills can be introduced in the Assembly or the Senate. If you want to follow a bill, it probably isn't worth your time until/unless you see that there is a "companion bill" introduced in the other house (for example, there should be similar bills on the same detailed topic in both the Assembly and Senate). Introduced bills must successfully progress through a series of "committees" before it is prepared for a full vote by that house. They can die from inaction at any point and many bills on many topics are reintroduced year after year without luck. Specific to CROSSBOWS, the link will take you to the NYS SENATE bills currently introduced. Some have full crossbow inclusion, some just for seniors, some remove the size/weight restrictions, etc. Anyones guess which will move forward, if any. (Most also have companion bills in the Assembly). If you really want to follow any bill, click on the bill and sign up for email status alerts directly from NYS.
