This week I took the PA Bowhunter Ed online class. I already had the International bow, hunter education course and I am also an Instructor for that. Most times when you take hunter Ed classes it's for life. What surprised me was after I took the class ($30.00) and did my class card to find it's only good for one year it has an expiration date. Here's a picture of my card with the dates. When did hunter Ed classes start having expiration dates? My international bowhunter education card has been good for years and years and accepted in every single state and in Canada so far. I would not of even took it if I've known it expired in one year.

Yeah, that’s crazy. I took it probably 25 years ago and it was supposed to be a one-time thing. I carried that blaze orange card in my wallet for years but must have gotten rid of it. Now I am wondering if they even have a record of me taking it……………………

You’re welcome. I’m not overly familiar with the program, so was just reading about it since you brought it up.

I took the course last week and also was concerned about the one year expiration date on the certificate. Hopefully a new one comes in the mail. The course was much more involved than I expected and good overall.

They should say in the email they sent you at the end, that this is a temporary card until your permanent one comes in the mail.

Yes, the course is thorough. Its has 9 parts. Each part takes about 15 to 20 minutes to go through. But you can stop at any point and when you log back in, it picks up right where you left off. You can do it in a few hours, days, weeks or a month.

The PGC took a fantastic NBEF course and made in into a turd. The current PA Bowhunter Education program isn't worth anyone's time.

I'm a former NBEF Instructor.

It is what it is. If there is anyone here that was part of a NBEF education team before the PGC, under the leadership of Keith Snyder, took it over, they'll agree with me.

Dpms, no I have not. I guess that's why the temp is good for 365 days. :)
