Has anyone else observe this? Saw it before, several years ago, but yesterday I had my camera handy. Coyotes targeting mating birds and stalking them. This one turned away as another car approached, and then went right back at it.

(Sorry about the picture quality, I was using a pocket camera.)

Scouting one morning a few seasons ago and had one run from the woods and grab a hen by the neck and drag it back in the woods. It was at first light right after fly down. Happened so quickly that the rest of the flock just stood there like it didn’t even happen. I believe predation is a large contributor as to why there are fewer birds these days. We need more trappers

Several years ago I saw a coyote harassing a flock of turkeys during deer season. In this case he didn’t have any luck, and it was kind of comical to watch.

Year before last, I took my cousin on a youth hunt. Set up two dekes and started calling. Within a couple minutes my cousin whispers 'coyote '. The dog trots down the cart path and grabbed a deke just as the boy shoots. Would've been a dead coyote, but the kid forgot to put his full choke in, I think it was imp. cyl. No doubt they hit the turkeys hard.

I’ve called in coyotes at first light lightly calling for the Toms before they fly off the roost. Shoot them all. Do not pass one up! Read that again.

The coyotes will sit under the Toms and wait for them to fly down and attack them. Ever had the birds going nuts in the trees, fly down and you never hear a peep again?? Now you know why. If there are coyotes around the birds won’t talk when they hit the ground.
