Who is Saul Alinsky? Recall that Hillary did her college thesis on his writings and Obama writes about him in his books. Saul Alinsky died about 43 years ago, but his writings influenced those in political control of our nation today.......

Saul David Alinsky, a writer, was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of the modern community organizing movement. He is most noted for his book Rules for Radicals. Died: June 12, 1972, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA Education: University of Chicago Spouse: Irene Alinsky Books: Rules for Radicals, Reveille for Radicals

Anyone out there think that this stuff isn't happening today in the U.S.? All eight rules are currently in play

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:

There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare– Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control– Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect oftheir lives (Food, Housing, and Income)

6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools

8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Does any of this sound like what is happening to the United States ?

Alinsky merely simplified Vladimir Lenin's original scheme for world conquest by communism, under Russian rule. Stalin described his converts as "Useful Idiots." The Useful Idiots have destroyed every nation in which they have seized power and control. It is presently happening at an alarming rate in the U.S.

I'll tell you who he is. He is a man who dedicated his book to Lucifer. And that is all really need to know.

And, once again, complete B.S. You guys wouldn't have anywhere's near the angst you do if you confined your outrage to verifiable facts. But what fun would that be, right?

Snopes only compares actual LISTS and only in that form. Nowhere in the above statement did it claim to be some verbatim list, and Snopes did not state that Alinsky never wrote or alluded to such controls. I would imagine "controls" needed to induce "change" would fall over a greater scope of his writings.

I see that as a general outline of several points his writings, I don't believe it ever claimed to be word for word quotes as what Snopes wanted to make so, as to deflect the content. If I recall Alinsky referred to Marx, Lenin and others ideas in his writings as well.

They gave a pretty flowery bio of the socialist/communist. And this email never claimed the two had met, only that his writing and teachings had a great influence on Obama. Snopes is very good a alluding to what they think another person is trying to say while at the same time holding them to a standard of verbatim quotes.

Bill Ayers OTOH had an even MORE radial teaching and effect, also an avowed Alinsky fan, who DID have a personal relationship with Obama, and one of those who helped him start his political career.

"when the truth is being told!!!"

So it's come to this....

The supposed 8 points by Alinsky is in fact a total lie. If truth and reality have no value to a person there is nothing.

Whether one agrees with Alinsky is not the important issue.... the disturbing issue to me is that so many have no desire for truth.

never been a social or political activist..never will be. I live my own life. I'm not here to change society to my concept of ideal state. An ideal society is impossible by definition anyway..

I do value truth. I place no value on fallacy and mendacity.

The real "Idiots" are the people who don't care what truth is...

The 8 "Rules for Radicals" being so rabidly passed around have almost no relationship to what he actually wrote.

The following is a cut and paste of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals..

"Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.

Rule 2: Never go outside the experience of your people. The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.

Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.

Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.

Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. “If your people aren’t having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.”

Rule 7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.

Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. “The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage.”

Rule 9: The threat is more terrifying than the thing itself. When Alinsky leaked word that large numbers of poor people were going to tie up the washrooms of O’Hare Airport, Chicago city authorities quickly agreed to act on a longstanding commitment to a ghetto organization. They imagined the mayhem as thousands of passengers poured off airplanes to discover every washroom occupied. Then they imagined the international embarrassment and the damage to the city’s reputation.

Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, “Okay, what would you do?”

Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

According to Alinsky, the main job of the organizer is to bait an opponent into reacting. “The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.” "

Right..and if anyone is paying attention, these are the rules (as posted by BD) that the current administration is following with a just a couple of twists. Rule 10 for example is being played by the democrats against the republicans whenever they claim the republicans don't have an alternative to Obamacare. There are other examples if one just looks around and pays attention to what is really going on.

You're right, Bluedog. And that means it's worse than what's going around on the internet
