Your slipping down troll avenue Doc.
And that's a fact.
All you have to do is satisfy the requirements necessary to vote, citizen and proof of who you are. Birth Certificates are not required. And let's not forget that proof of eligibility is required to REGISTER to vote, then just ID to actually vote.
Are you really suggesting that anyone should be able to show up at a polling place and simply declare who they are, and be allowed to cast a ballot?
Under what other circumstances is that allowed? Would it work: To board an airplane? To Cash a check? To Buy Cigarettes or Alcohol? To Get in to see a political debate? To Walk into ANY office building in NYC? When a policeman stops you? When you want to buy a Firearm? When you want to get a Hunting License?
Just wondering, how old are you?
That seems to be glossed over in this discussion. Why? Because possibly millions are being registered without meeting the legal requirements to register.
"Voter ID laws are opposed by those who wish to vote fraudulently, or those who benefit from fraudulent, illegal voting.
And that's a fact."
Worth repeating.
Show me your disenfranchised millions. They do not exist except in the minds of those who value neither our nation nor its laws - let alone the borders.
Require a photo ID to purchase any tobacco or alcoholic beverages. All states have laws to prevent purchase of these items by teenagers. Many states will prosecute store owners who knowingly sell to minors, which makes requiring ID a very reasonable position.
No ID--no purchase...no matter how "old" one looks.
Judges would have a hard time justifying eliminating these age laws. And since these supposedly discriminated non-ID voters can't seem to get IDs (even though states offer them for free)to vote, they certainly would get them to use their EBT cards to get their beer and cigarettes.
With all of the early and absentee voting, they will flood the ballot boxes with unauthenticated votes. Be afraid.
Yet liberals seem to think It's like even if illegal.... nothing and nobody was "harmed". Go pound sand.
Every measure should be taken to ensure a vote, every single vote, is made legally, voted only once, in their correct jurisdiction, by that legally registered voter.
Period. I don't see how it can be argued otherwise.

Now, I realize I'm probably somewhat challenged being a bitter-clinger, knuckle-dragging neanderthalic conservative but I could swear that 73% is more than 50%.
Maybe somebody needs to rope in those 23% and get them back on the "the GOP wants to suppress minority votes reservation" mue pronto.
Or course the alternate possibility is that the argument is without merit.
The 2004 general election in Milwaukee was such a scandal federal authorities and the city formed separate investigative Task Forces. For example, “between 4600 and 5300 more ballots were cast than voters who can be accounted for.” In support of the two Task Forces, the Milwaukee Police Force formed a Special Investigation Unit.
No one was ever charged, no one went to jail. The only meaningful measure taken by the state to prevent a repeat of 2004 has been the voter I.D. law that was recently suspended by SCOTUS. That means there will be no real controls this election cycle to prevent the shenanigans from happening again.
The Special Investigation Unit set up by the Milwaukee Police did produce a report of their findings and amazingly it’s on the internet. The report reads like a playbook on how to take advantage of same day registration, no I.D. checks, poor voter roll controls, felons both voting and working as election inspectors and absentee voting that starts a month early.
Democrat sponsored fraudulent voting disenfranchises all Americans who follow the law. The need to be in power to control all Americans and limit Constitutional freedoms is the end goal of Obamunism: fundamentally change America with no respect for the law. Any person who attempts to defend the need for valid identity when it comes to voting either abets criminality or is just a fool.
It would be safe to say that there is probably vote fraud of one sort or another in nearly every jurisdiction large enough that not every voter is personally known by election officials.
The percent of fraudulent votes is most certainly higher with early and absentee voting.
I would bet you a month's salary that there is more fraud in a typical election in any democrat-controlled city in the US than the first Iranian election after hussein was deposed.
In the fist place there is far more incidence of voter fraud than legal voters who can prove they were "disenfranchised" at the polls and not allowed to vote. In fact pretty much every case of this promoted by the left was proven false. The people in question actually had ID. Simply refused to provide it. So wizz off.
Very simple. Want to vote, follow the rules. The rules should be show ID. I live in the Socialist Republic of Hawaii. ID required to vote. And "minority" ethnicity is by far the majority. No problem what... so..... ever... And no study that shows it has any effect.... any... on legal voting.
Again, every fraudulent vote steals someone elses vote who played by the rules. There seems no concern from the leftists that that persons vote, who made every effort to make sure it was a legal vote.... was cancelled, and no effort to make sure it is preserved, no recourse. No concern this person had his vote STOLEN.... at all.
That to me speaks volumes.
No, they will just make it more difficult. It will still go on as long as there is early, absentee, and electronic voting and people are people. People of all political leanings are prone to being human.
The left OTOH do not believe in the rule of law or the sanctity of human life, so election fraud is part of their unwritten platform.
To be an "out-of-state college student" you are required to show proof of ID to enroll in a class, rent a place to live, get utilities connected, etc. etc. etc.
Unless your parents took you there in their own auto, you also had to have a driver's license to take yourself there, or show a photo ID to fly, take a bus, or get on a train.
To open a bank account after you got there, you were required to show photo ID and proof of SS#. If said disenfranchised college students plans to spend any money, they will have to show ID to use a credit card or write a check in most places.
If they have filled out a FAFSA or otherwise plan to have any scholarships, loans, or grants to help pay for the schooling, they will be required to prove who they are to be approved and receive any funding.

From the article:
Holder’s remarks were a call to arms against efforts by Republicans to require that voters show identification when they go to vote. His words reflect a belief that the right to vote is so “precious” that requiring individuals to show an ID before casting a vote is tantamount to being “disenfranchised.”
However, when it comes to protecting the right to “keep and bear arms” – which, unlike the right to vote, is a right expressly guaranteed in the Constitution itself – the Attorney General of the United States is nowhere to be found. Apparently our Second Amendment rights are just not “precious” enough to worry about when governments engage in actions expressly designed to “disenfranchise” individuals from exercising those rights.
Imagine if voter ID laws were as rigorous as gun regulations found in many of America’s major cities. In order to vote in such a scenario, citizens would be forced to take a day-long class (at a cost of $100 or more) about the basics of the U.S. government and electoral process. They then would be required to take a competency test (only available at inconvenient locations during normal working hours) on the current election’s issues. Finally, after paying a non-refundable processing fee of $100 to score the results, they would then be forced to wait months for the actual voter registration card.

Chicagoland voting machine casts candidate’s vote for his Dem opponent
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – Admitting his confidence in Cook County ballot integrity is shaken, State Representative Candidate Jim Moynihan (R-56), was shocked today when he tried to cast a vote for himself and the voting machine cast it for his opponent instead.
voteballotbox“While early voting at the Schaumburg Public Library today, I tried to cast a vote for myself and instead it cast the vote for my opponent,” said Moynihan. “You could imagine my surprise as the same thing happened with a number of races when I tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.”
While using a touch screen voting machine in Schaumburg, Moynihan voted for several races on the ballot, only to find that whenever he voted for a Republican candidate, the machine registered the vote for a Democrat in the same race. He notified the election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidate’s party. Moynihan was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates, including his own race. It is unknown if the machine in question (#008958) has been removed from service or is still in operation.
“Clearly, I am concerned that citizens will be unable to vote for the candidate of their choice, especially if they are in a hurry and do not double check their ballot,” added Moynihan. “I cannot say whether or not this was intentional, but Cook County voters deserve better and should not have their right to vote suppressed.”
The 56th District covers portions of Schaumburg, Bartlett, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Roselle.

A government print order for as many as 34 million blank work permits and green cards is raising concern that the Obama administration could be preparing an executive order for amnesty after the November election.
An online solicitation by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services seeks vendors that can produce a minimum 4 million cards per year for five years, and 9 million in the early stages.
If the numbers reported by Breitbart.com on Monday are correct, they are vastly larger than official estimates of 12 million illegal residents in this country.
“There aren’t enough federal employees from here to Pluto to do adequate background checks on 34 million,” said Bob Dane, spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
Dane told Watchdog.org that President Obama appears “to be getting his ducks in a row” before legalizing illegal residents by executive fiat.
“It’s another petulant display of contempt of Congress,” he said.
INELIGIBLE DACA BENEFICIARIES DISCOVERED ON NC VOTING ROLLS
With the North Carolina U.S. Senate race in a dead heta, state election officials say they have discovered 145 names on the voting rolls who are ineligible to vote because they are illegal immigrants who have been granted President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals status.
According to a Winston-Salem Journal report, the State Board of Elections discovered the potential illegal voters Tuesday night when the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles ran a search for DACA licenses. The 145 DACA recipients whose names appear on the SBOE’s voting rolls will be sent letters requesting documentation that they are citizens, the report noted.
DACA beneficiaries in North Carolina are able to obtain drivers licenses, but they are not able to vote.
The Journal notes that it is likely more ineligible people may still remain on the voting rolls.
Nearly 10,000 names on the rolls are tagged by the DMV as "legally present," according to elections and transportation officials. But that doesn’t mean that all 10,000 are ineligible to vote at this time. These are license holders who were not U.S. citizens when they got a license. They may have been green-card holders, foreign workers or foreign students, for example.
Most have become U.S. citizens since getting a license, according to an estimate by elections officials based on a sample of the overall list.
According to the report, earlier this month the SBOE officials did a sample cross-check of 1,600 of the 10,000 “legally present” names against a Department of Homeland Security database and found that 94 percent were U.S. citizens and eligible to vote. However, that still meant that six percent were ineligible, meaning if the ratio held for the whole 10,000, 600 people would be ineligible.
Mike Charbonneau, a DMV spokesman, told the Journal that it is now cross checking all the names.
While the officials work to cross check names, early voting is set to start in the state Thursday.
“We want to know how such a large number of non-U.S. citizens were ever registered to vote in the first place,” Jay DeLancy, executive director of the Voter Integrity Project of North Carolina, told Watchdog.org. “There is clearly a system failure here and we need the Board of Elections and the DMV to help the Legislature and the public understand where the problem lies.”

Via Jim Geraghty, the preview of this soon-to-be-published racist study is published by... the Washington Post's "Monkey Cage."
In a forthcoming article in the journal Electoral Studies, we bring real data from big social science survey datasets to bear on the question of whether, to what extent, and for whom non-citizens vote in U.S. elections. Most non-citizens do not register, let alone vote. But enough do that their participation can change the outcome of close races.
...
Because non-citizens tended to favor Democrats (Obama won more than 80 percent of the votes of non-citizens in the 2008 CCES sample), we find that this participation was large enough to plausibly account for Democratic victories in a few close elections. Non-citizen votes could have given Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health-care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) won election in 2008 with a victory margin of 312 votes. Votes cast by just 0.65 percent of Minnesota non-citizens could account for this margin. It is also possible that non-citizen votes were responsible for Obama’s 2008 victory in North Carolina. Obama won the state by 14,177 votes, so a turnout by 5.1 percent of North Carolina’s adult non-citizens would have provided this victory margin.
Regarding the headline, note that the Senate passed in 2009 the version of Obamacare that the House would also vote on in 2010.
Obamacare was not passed until 2010, but the necessary Senate vote happened in 2009.

VOTER ID: The Ultimate Faux Controversy Tweet By Ed Feulner
If you’ve ever tried to board a plane, cash a check or rent a car, you’ve almost surely had to show some form of identification with your picture on it. For most people, that takes the form of a driver’s license, but there are other forms of photo ID. Millions of Americans produce them every day to do dozens of everyday tasks and think nothing of it.
Why should it be any different when we vote? Anyone can show up and claim to be you. Imagine if all someone had to do was state your name and address. I don’t know about you, but producing a form of ID when I vote gives me some peace of mind that no one else is voting in my name.
The short answer to the above question is that it’s no different at all. In fact, to the extent that it is different, you could say it’s even more important to produce a photo ID for voting. What civic duty supersedes that of voting? It’s a responsibility we must take seriously.
That helps explain why 31 states have some form of voter-ID laws in effect. Some are stricter than others, but all send an important message: Voting is too important not to take fraud seriously. We need to make sure that when someone shows up to vote, he is who he says he is, and not someone else.
You’d think this would be the most noncontroversial thing in the world. Who could oppose voter-ID laws? Some fringe groups? A few, yes, but unfortunately, they’re joined by some people who ought to know better, such as U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr., whose headquarters in Washington requires a photo ID to enter.
To hear Mr. Holder and others tell it, voter ID is — for starters — a huge imposition. They make it sound as if getting a photo ID is an almost insurmountable burden. Of course, that rings a bit hollow to the millions of Americans who have obtained photo ID with ease, so they don’t lean on that line of attack very heavily.
Instead, we’re led to believe that voter ID is a form of discrimination. Like the disgraceful Jim Crow laws that were once all too common in the decades following the Civil War, voter ID is meant to disenfranchise minority voters. Like literacy tests, voter ID is there to make it harder for them to cast their ballots — or so we’re told.
Indeed, it’s not unusual to hear outrageous comparisons made between voter ID and the violence that erupted in the Bull Connor era of the 1960s, when black voters were assaulted with “billy clubs and fire hoses, bullets and bombs,” as Mr. Holder has pointed out.
This line of argument is so patently absurd it would be laughable if the subject matter were not so serious. How can anyone compare physical assaults and threats of violence to showing a photo ID, a simple act that many of us — regardless of race, creed, color or religious belief — do every day without thinking twice?
Nonetheless, the opponents of voter IDs have been pressing their case in courts nationwide. In some places, the battle has seesawed back and forth.
In Texas, for example, U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos, an appointee of President Obama, recently struck down a state law requiring voters to show photo ID that was successfully implemented with no problems in 2013. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit threw out that decision because of the short time remaining before the election, a decision upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
In Wisconsin last April, a federal district court issued an injunction against the state’s voter-ID law. Although the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals dissolved it, saying Wisconsin officials can enforce the law during next month’s elections, the Supreme Court reinstated the injunction because the election is too close to put in new rules.
Voter ID shouldn’t even be controversial. What could be more crucial than taking this simple step to ensure the integrity of our elections?
The Democrats DO NOT want any kind of voter ID because it would limit the voter fraud they need to win elections! It's as simple as that.

Obama May Have Been Elected With Illegal Votes
A large number of non-citizens cast ballots in U.S. elections and it’s possible that the illegal votes were responsible for President Obama’s 2008 victory, according to an in-depth academic study that confirms Judicial Watch’s assessment that foreign nationals have helped Democrats steal elections.
Non-citizens tend to favor Democrats and Obama won more than 80% of the votes of non-citizens in the 2008 sample gathered by the Cooperative Congressional Election Study (CCES), a large-scale academic survey project operated by teams of researchers from across the country. In fact, enough ineligible voters cast ballots in 2008 to conceivably account for Democratic victories in a few close elections, CCES researchers found. A respected Ivy League professor is coordinator of the CCES which has produced national sample surveys, stratified by state and type of district, in every federal election since 2006. This allows the optimal study of congressional and state races as well as an ideal setting for understanding the relationship between the congressional and presidential elections.
The CCES is an esteemed and highly respected operation that recently published shocking information, gathered from big social science survey datasets, that supports Judicial Watch’s work in this area. In 2012 JW launched the Election Integrity Project, a widespread legal campaign to clean up voter registration rolls and support election integrity measures across the country. Our investigations immediately uncovered data that proved voter rolls in a number of states—including Mississippi, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Florida, California and Colorado—contained the names of individuals who are ineligible to vote.
Now the CCES confirms this, specifically that large numbers of foreign nationals vote in U.S. elections. The “participation was large enough to plausibly account for Democratic victories in a few close elections,” according to a mainstream newspaper article written by two of the political science college professors that conducted the study. “Non-citizen votes could have given Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health-care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress,” the researchers write. “Sen. Obama won the state by 14,177 votes, so a turnout by 5.1 percent of North Carolina’s adult non-citizens would have provided this victory margin.”
Most non-citizens do not register, let alone vote. But enough do that their participation can change the outcome of close races, the professors confirm. More than 14 percent of non-citizens in both the 2008 and 2010 samples indicated that they were registered to vote and some actually voted. Based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010. This is outrageous, to say that least, and illustrates the need to clean up voter rolls in this country.
“This is a major story and confirms JW’s working theory that foreign nationals illegally vote in federal elections in large numbers and have allowed Democrats, including this president, to steal elections,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “This is why the Left does not want voter ID, loves same day registration, by mail voting, etc. and craves amnesty and open borders. It is not about the Hispanic vote – it is about the illegal alien vote (and the legal alien vote), it is about stealing elections. Makes all the talk about targeting, messaging, issues, candidates, and policy seem quaint.”

How Many Elections Will The Democrats Steal?
Theft: As "calibration errors" switch votes in Illinois and Maryland, an election watchdog group sues the latter over massive voting by noncitizens in one county after discovering voters registered in multiple states.
The fact that many people will do anything to get out of jury duty has exposed massive fraudulent voting in Frederick County, Md., that may have been going on for years. Illegal aliens who stated they were noncitizens on jury duty forms were found to have cast votes in elections.
The Virginia Voters Alliance (VVA) cross-checked jury duty forms with individual voting records and found that hundreds of voters in that one Maryland county cast votes after reporting they were noncitizens. One in seven Maryland residents are noncitizens, so extrapolating the number of possibly illegal votes cast in recent elections over the entire state hints at possible election-changing fraud.
Maryland is one of many states that in the process of making it easier to vote has also made vote fraud easier to commit. Maryland both issues driver's licenses to illegal aliens and has a Motor Voter law that allows that license to be used to register and vote.
The VVA filed suit Friday in U.S. District Court in Maryland asserting that individuals who opted out of jury duty as noncitizens have been able to cast votes in at least three Maryland elections.
Based on the number of these unqualified voters in Frederick County, it is estimated that up to 7% of Maryland's registered voters could be illegal immigrants, enough to swing elections.
"Their continued appearance on these lists makes it nearly impossible for Maryland law to prevent these declared noncitizens from casting votes in elections and significantly affecting the integrity and outcomes of overall electoral processes," said VVA President Reagan George.
As we noted earlier, when the VVA cross-checked voter rolls in Virginia and Maryland, it announced that it had turned up 44,000 people registered to vote in both states at the same time. The group also identified 31,000 dead voters via the Social Security Administration's Death Master File.
Maryland has also produced cases of "calibration error," where a person casting a vote sees in the voting summary the machines display that the vote has been counted for their candidate's opponent. In Illinois, when Illinois Republican state representative candidate Jim Moynihan voted early, he was stunned to find the vote he had cast for himself had been counted as a vote for his rival.
In another episode in downstate Illinois, which has a tight race for governor, the GOP candidate for Congress in IL-17, Bobby Schilling, says he has received 20 reports from supporters who said that when they tried to cast votes for him, their votes were counted for his opponent, incumbent Democratic congresswoman Cheri Bustos.
Early voting is also underway in Maryland, and reports of machine switching of votes are emerging there, as well. Kathy Szeliga, a GOP member of Maryland's House of Delegates, told CBS Baltimore reporter Meghan McCorkell that it happened to her.
"I kept pushing the Republican guy's name and the machine kept going beep, beep, beep," as it steadfastly refused to count her vote as cast.
Democrats have long pushed for voting ease at the expense of voting integrity, pushing measures from voting by mail, to Motor Voter laws, to same-day registration, while opposing voter ID laws that require people to show up on election day with proof that they are who they say they are.
The day after resigning as attorney general, Eric Holder told the Congressional Black Caucus that the voter ID laws he and his Justice Department opposed were answers to a problem that "doesn't exist."
The problem of vote fraud does exist, but when all the errors seem to benefit your political party, it's easy to turn a blind eye.
Which explains doc's POV.

If you are not a citizen the govt, the state and the people have every right to abridge and deny you what is only the scared right of a citizen!!! How the hell is proving you are a citizen when registering to vote which takes all of a few minutes to do somehow abridging or denying?
Proving you are a citizen is not denying or abridging your rights to vote! PERIOD! I contend it is written in a way that makes this all very obvious because the word citizen is included and not the words 'anyone on US soil! The founders were careful to make it clear that CITIZENS are to vote. If you can't just one time prove during the 2 years between elections and get the proper documents showing you are a citizen which would carry over FORVER and you wouldn't need to ever do so again then you aint a citizen and cant vote! Period!
Don't start with the poor souls who cant afford ID or the old farts who just cant get out there to get one either. There is a 2 year lead time between elections. I think we can all find the means, time and ability to get it handled no matter the discomfort, hardship and odds.
Any argument to the contrary is just plain ignorant, uneducated and totally un-American that should see the person doing so deported. Some of the arguments are so senseless by the left that I cant believe they find others stupid enough to agree with them. Its no wonder America is heading into the crapper.
Personally....Any person found committing voter fraud or voting when not a citizen should be shot for trying to undermine the USA and our constitution.
Put me in charge and I will fix this in one day along with the border issues. Line the national guard up and shoot any s.o.b that tries to violate our countries borders illegally. Problem solved in 1 week as word across the border spreads that if the trip doesn't kill you we will!
First case of voter fraud confirmed in Rio Arriba Co.
The first case of voter fraud in New Mexico this election has been confirmed by the Rio Arriba County Clerk's Office.
According to the Rio Arriba County Clerk's office, a voter trying to cast an early ballot in Espanola Saturday was told he had already voted three days prior.
The man told poll workers he hadn't voted. He was then shown the signature of the voter, but he says it wasn't his signature.
Officials say they were able to confirm that the signature on the original ballot did not match the legal voter's signature on file.
Poll workers allowed the man to vote on a provisional ballot, but election officials will have to determine whether the provisional ballot can be counted. Elections officials have no legal means of actually verifying signatures or confirming identification of a voter.
(Aside: Hey, doc...how does one verify the identity of a voter without ID? Of course, from your POV, it doesn't matter as long as "your guy" wins.)
"The poll workers and the Rio Arriba County Clerk’s office did a good job in responding to the situation, following all the procedures available to them," said Bobbi Shearer of the Secretary of State’s office Saturday, "I have nothing, but praise for their efforts to try to ensure integrity in the election. It is just that under current law there are no means available to poll workers to help them determine if a voter is actually the person he says he is."
(Aside: hey doc...whatcho say about that?)
Shearer said the fraudulent voter's vote has already gone through a tabulator and cannot be identified or separated from all the legitimate ballots in the machine.
(Aside: Oh...so the fraudulent vote gets counted no matter what! Screw this voter who at best (if they count his ballot)has his vote cancelled by the stolen one. Again...what part is the party that promotes this?)
Rio Arriba County also fell under scrutiny just two years ago when campaign workers were caught offering alchol to voters.
If voters have any concerns or wish to report an irregularity of any kind, they are encouraged to call the Secretary of State’s office: 1-800-477-3632.
