He'll hath no fury like a Femi-Nazi.

"The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.

“The city’s subpoena of sermons and other pastoral communications is both needless and unprecedented,” Alliance Defending Freedom attorney Christina Holcomb said in a statement. “The city council and its attorneys are engaging in an inquisition designed to stifle any critique of its actions.”

I'm certain subpoenas went out to any city mosques as well.

Now she's taken the obama defense. She didn't know about it until she saw it in the news.

From the link:

“Mayor Parker agrees with those who are concerned about the city legal department’s subpoenas for pastor’s sermons. The subpoenas were issued by pro bono attorneys helping the city prepare for the trial regarding the petition to repeal the new Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) in January.

Neither the mayor nor City Attorney David Feldman were aware the subpoenas had been issued until yesterday.

So just any pro bono attorney can issue a subpoena at any time for any reason ?

Attorneys can issue subpoenas by themselves, so long as the rules of procedure are followed. Non-attorneys are required to get court permission to issue subpeonas. That's primarily because some pro se parties won't follow any rules, and would be issuing subpoenas to the governor for even a routine speeding ticket or something.

Even though the mayor's office claimed that it was just some volunteer wannabe who issued the subpoenas, it is still going on:

Five Christian pastors will no longer have to turn their sermons over to attorneys for the city of Houston. Instead, they will be forced to turn over their speeches related to the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO).

I don't mean to point out the obvious here – but what do those attorneys think a sermon is? It's a speech.

The left does not believe in free speech, Henry. That's why the current bunch has been using the IRS to audit conservative groups, or deny their tax exempt status while letting the liberal groups do as they please. The trail of using the IRS to suppress free speech stops well above Lois Lerner. I'd be shocked if it didn't go all the way to the Oval Office.

Not just using the government to suppress conservative, free market, and religious activities, but also using the government coffers to promote leftist, anti-capitalist, and anti-Christian activities.
