I'm watching the World Series and wonder what the song that's sung during the 7th inning stretch would sound like with the Atheists Version? I guess it would be called Bless America. I remember the socialist run grade school my kids went to for a short time hated the very idea that anyone here in the US would ask a deity to bless this country over any other country. There response was it was selfish and rude.

It doesn't bother me at all...but I was probably going for some ice cream during the stretch.

It is impossible to be without religion. Worship is in our DNA. Get a stadium filled with people and any number are going to feel neglected or bothered by any given observance or lack thereof.

For there record, I have no more business to force the mention of Jesus than anyone has to force the removal of Him. In America, we leverage culture with patronage. If it bothers you, stay home and watch MTV.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

That's it. That's all. No ifs, ands or buts tacked on. No "what if my feelings are hurt". Breathtaking in it's simplistic beauty. Crystal clear in it's understanding and intent. A single sentence, which if written by a liberal today would be a hundred pages.

You ever read the 1st amendment? I know for a liberal leftist it's like garlic to a vampire.... but really should try it.... as much as you may hate it... it is the law of the land.... no matter what you FEEL it should be.

If offended you have every right to walk away.....please....

Really, can someone actually be this ignorant and delusional or the obvious.

It seems to me that if you study history, an argument can be made that religions- all religions were conceived to keep its leaders in power and promote "Followers". Almost all of the wars stem from the various religious leaders attacking the others since, "Theirs is the one"

I would rather be a baseball fan.....

I pretty much live my life by the ten commandments...but not because I'm part of any religion ....because its the right thing to do.

Pretty good game last night.

Matt/Doc

I call BS to your comments. No religious conservative has ever said you should leave the country for not believing in our God.

If someone wants to be Atheist fine, just don't try to force us to be Atheist.

However I say if a politician refuses to pledge allegiance to our flag, burns our flag, believes in socialism/communism/president for life, or votes against any of the original 10 amendments in the Bill of Rights. That person is committing treason and should sit in jail.

Those are not Christians!!

Actually no they are not Matt.

Just like your priest growing up. He was not a Christian either or he would not have abused you

Nope

There are people that do not like religion or believe in it and then there are people that hate religion, like yourself.

People that hate religion but were raised with it like yourself more often than not have suffered some trauma from it

Sorry. Truly am. You are just unfortunately misdirecting your anger

As to the OP. I guess some atheists hate baseball. I only personally know two and both of them like baseball and most sports. I have been to several baseball games with one of them and I fish with the other one often and they have never mentioned that they hated much of anything , except of course liberals, anarchists , unions and our current administration

Doc, while you are correct, those things are protected by the first amendment. However each one of them stands against our form of government.

You will also notice I said any politician. I didn't say any citizen.

A politician has the ability to effect how our government works, some have more power then others, obviously. Generally a regular citizen not saying the pledge of allegiance has no effect. But a politician not saying it means he is not there for the country, he is there for some other reason.... like destroying our country. This makes him an enemy of the state.

Same of flag burning, same for voting socialist and communist. A citizen saying these thing - no effect. A politician saying, doing, voting for these things, is attempting to change our governmental system. Therefore an enemy of the state.

I believe when sworn to certain offices they must swear allegiance to the US and the constitution. Required, under law.

Yeah. I know, I know, Obama swore an oath too..... just goes to show.... how does he put it??? oh yeah... "words...just words..."

Ha! TD, you are killing me!

What will be fun in the future is to go back and listen to some of Obamas and Biden speeches- history will not be kind to those guys.
