Key point in link is the greater advantage compared to the 2010 wave election that produced the greatest turnaround in Congressional history.

RCP polling (which incorporates all polling data, even the obvious left-leaning outliers) is pointing towards this as well.

Mike,

Perhaps the biggest indicator of a GOP wave is that not one of the 'at risk' incumbent Dems is anywhere near 50% in the polls.

Historically, that's political death.

"Remember when they announced "Romney by a landslide!"

No, we do not remember that. Probably because it never happened.

Now, let's try this yet again. What rights do Caucasian men have that blacks, Hispanics, and women do not have? Name one. Just ONE!

NOW, just a week out from the actual election we start to see a little reality in the polls because even the pollsters who are still trying to manipulate voters don't want to be too far from reality come election day or they just look stupid.

I won't be making any wagers this one... not unless someone wants to bet against Al Franken... ;)

Dan,

How does Spike's prediction and my simple posting of a pundit's noting of a poll showing Romney squeaking out a win by a small margin qualify as "they" predicting a "landslide?"

From: Mike in CT
27-Oct-14
Dan makes a valid point; certainly Dick Morris was out there predicting a big Romney win.

In hindsight too much weight was being put on National polls and too little on the battleground states that pointed to the inevitable outcome.

The fallacy though in trying to compare prognasicators picks for Senate and House raises to the Presidential race is here there is no over-reliance on national polls; each race's predictions are based solely on the relevant demographic-that district or state's (or portion thereof) voters.

RCP, which probably represents the best barometer still looks to have a minimum of 53 (R) Senate seats after the election and a few House pick-ups.

NH will tell the tale on whether it's a wave or a tsunami; if Scott Brown wins NH look for the rout to be on.

Oh good grief. You can't be serious.

Over the last year I attended town hall meetings and a few speeches. I swear some people would hoop and holler in support even if their candidate said they were going to poison their dog. The political hacks and their blind support of an R or D are freak'in unbelievable.

Both parties have F'd us.

The GOP wins whether they are in the majority or not. Bigger government and more liberalism has and will continue to benefit both parties.

I predict Alaska going Blue ... Walker has opened up a wide lead on Parnell. Even Sister Sarah has jumped ship and is now backing Walker after first supporting her past Lt Gov and Republican friend & partner Parnell.

In past weeks all the talking heads and pollsters had Sullivan way ahead of Begich ... now it's a slight lead. And you know what all the local talk always had Begich ... and IMHO Natives aren't polled or answer to polls and they back Begich big time.

"You just cannot continue to BONE your voters and expect them to keep swallowing your bullshat!"

You can and they do....

Both parties do it to voters and their team still loves and defends them. It is American culture to be on a winning team. Politics is not Football...

When you give Republicrats your vote, you're telling them to go ahead and keep doing what their doing.

They convince their voters the Country will topple if they don't fall in line and most stay on the plantation for whatever excuse they FEEL will win the approval of their peers.

I was talking to a guy Saturday that was espousing Libertarian/Constitutional conservative values. He got me rolling on Romney and was agreeing with me until I said I couldn't vote for someone that liberal and voted Johnson.

You could have heard a pin drop and after an awkward pause he sheepishly said I voted for Romney. Then went into how bad Obama was as his excuse to compromise his beliefs previously espoused.

It is sad how many voters are just like Dock Eating but won't own it like he does.....

Economy and War

and Obama is continuing the half azz war we will never win and my 401K is in good shape.

Missouri has had great gains on Gun rights Romney would have gave us an Assault weapons Ban with NRA support.

If you dig into reality a bit the Race War is Obama's only accomplishment that Romney wouldn't have acheived.

Is the Virginia Senate seat now in play? VIRGINIA??

From The Daily Caller:

Exclusive: Poll Shows Ed Gillespie Down Just 4 Points In Virginia

"Republican Ed Gillespie is within striking distance of pulling off an upset in Virginia, according to a new poll provided exclusively to The Daily Caller.

Incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Warner is leading Gillespie 44 percent to 40 percent in the GOP-leaning Vox Populi poll. Libertarian Robert Sarvis has 5 percent in the poll.

Over the summer, Vox Populi was the only polling firm to show former House majority leader Eric Cantor struggling in his Virginia primary days before the election. Cantor went on to shockingly lose that race.

A Gillespie win over Warner would shock most political observers, who have predicted an easy win for Warner.

In a recent interview with The Daily Caller, Gillespie, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee, predicted he would continue to gain on Warner.

“We’ve closed a big gap,” Gillespie said. “You know, when I got in, we were down 29 points to Mark Warner.”"

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

My word, if the GOP picks up this seat, 'tsunami' won't even begin to describe the election results!

Henry,

If Hagan eeks out a win in NC, it will be 100% the fault of the libertarian candidate, Sean Haugh, who is a total wack-job.

Hagan can't get above 45% in the RCP average, which is very bad news if you're the incumbent. That means the only way she can win is to hope the 'not-Hagan' vote gets split. Haugh is doing just that, siphoning off 4-5%.

If NC required the winner get a majority, as Georgia and Louisiana do, Hagan would be toast.

Orman is a leftist obama supporter who has hidden behind the "independent" label to fool people into voting for him.

From the link:

Overall, by 49-39 percent, Kansas likely voters want Republicans to win control of the Senate.

The new poll of Kansas likely voters finds independent Greg Orman has a one-point edge over Republican Sen. Pat Roberts: 44-43 percent. Three weeks ago, Roberts was up by five (44-39 percent).

Democrat says, "Punish Them"

From the link:

"...Normally, I am not a partisan advocate. I am a registered Democrat, though I vote as an independent.

Not this year. This is a national emergency and the only responsible action is to vote Republican for every federal office.

Sparing even a favorite Democrat or two could allow Obama to spin defeat as a minor loss. Most worrisome, if Dems keep the Senate, the election will further entrench a corrupt government and further erode America’s strength and influence.

That is not a chance worth taking. Six years is enough. Collective punishment is the appropriate answer..."

One thing I've noticed about Bowsite CF guys.......they give what they get.

Sundowner, you can't find one example of me being disrespectful (until I was rudely attacked) in my early postings.

Have a little cheese with that whine Sparky.

The ultimate show of disrepect is to join a largely conservative forum under the pretense of coming to engage in "spirited debate" and then proceeding to cull one cut-and-paste after another from the likes of HuffPo, DailyKOS, DU or others.

To willfully "contribute" posts that cast the vast majority of posters here in the worst possible light and that pander to the lowest common denominator only highlights that lack of respect.

To have your backside handed to you repeatedly by fact-supported posts and then run from those threads rather than own up to your misinformed postings only to repost the same refuted crapfest under another title is again displaying a complete lack of respect.

You have been accorded EXACTLY the level of respect you have EARNED Sparky and not one iota less.

You have consistently displayed a complete lack of integrity and an equal lack of shame. You want to kick the hornets nest and get a free pass from the occupants. I'd say you have quite the supply of balls but I think it's more likely to be an overly developed sense of self-importance. Newsflash-you are impressing no one and fooling no one.

Take your pity party on the road Sparky; it's playing about as well here as your faux credentials.

Washington (CNN) -- Democrats have a message for voters during the final, frenzied day of campaigning: All is not lost. Party leaders insist they can still hold onto the Senate -- their last bastion of power on Capitol Hill -- and are spending the remaining hours before the polls open on Tuesday trying to convince their voters not to give up. "I don't agree with the oddsmakers," Vice President Joe Biden said in an exclusive interview with CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger. "I predict we're gonna ... keep the Senate."
