10 Liberal Clichés and What They Really Mean

Cliché [klee-shey, kli-] n. – a trite, stereotyped expression; a sentence or phrase, usually expressing a popular or common thought or idea, that has lost originality, ingenuity, and impact by long overuse.

1. The Constitution is a Living Document

This is used to rationalize ignoring the Constitution and imposing whatever Liberals want to on people. The Founding Fathers knew that as times changed there might arise a need to alter the Constitution, so they provided for Amendments. Amendments, alone are what make the US Constitutions “elastic” or “a living document”, but Liberals have long lost site of that, and have taken the term used to describe the “elasticity” provided by Amendments to also include judicial interpretation, or as we know it, Judicial activism.

2. Diversity is Strength

It’s very interesting that what Liberals today call “Diversity” bears a striking resemblance to what Democrats used to call “Segregation”. Liberals see “Diversity” as acknowledging difference to the point of creating walls, which isolate different groups. They rationalize it as good, by pretending that these walls allow the groups to better expose their strengths. Wow, that’s exactly what the segregationists of the 40s and 50s said, too. Conservatives on the other hand, acknowledge varying strengths, but see them as more efficiently used by using commonality among all people to strengthen societal unity and cohesion, not division.

3.Equal Protection

This canard is being used a lot today to rationalize all kinds of outrageous abuse. It works like this: A Liberal wants a special right for himself or some other group, but that right directly infringes on the rights of a group or groups the Liberals don’t like–then the “Constitution” demands the second group loses their rights in favor of the first group so that “equal protection” is achieved. Rights for the first groups are expanded to including pretty much anything and everything they want. Rights for the second groups are diminished to the point of non-existence. The result is what Liberals call “Equal Protection”. Your religious beliefs say that homosexuality is wrong? Doesn’t matter because the rights of homosexuals to force you to participate in the celebration of their chosen sexual positions trump your “so-called” freedom of religion (as if that’s even in the Constitution, anyway). See how that works?

4. The One Percent

Class warfare is one of the Liberal’s greatest weapons. It doesn’t matter that there are actually more 1%ers that are Democrats than are Republicans. It doesn’t matter that Liberal 1%ers donate more heavily than Republican or Libertarian (The Koch brothers are Libertarians) do. It’s about class envy. Hate those that have more than you do, so you will lend your societal proxy (the miniscule power the individual possesses that when combined with others become a powerful political force) to those 1%ers promising (but never delivering) punishment for the haves and bread and circuses for the have nots.

5. Trust Black Women

This shameless exploitation of minorities was invented when Liberals could no longer hide the ongoing genocide of Blacks via Planned Parenthood. It’s supposed to mean that even if Black women are flocking to abortion clinics to murder their babies at a rate that actually surpasses live births, we should shut up about it, and trust that they know what they are doing. What it really means is, “Hey, we’ve conned these people into thinking we are helping them by slowly eradicating them from the planet. So don’t interfere.”

6. Violence Never Solved Anything

Cute, pithy, feel-good but still utter nonsense. Interesting that the same Liberals that cry, “Violence never solved anything,” have no problem arming local police departments like soldiers going to war. Interesting that they also have no problem when their president sends troops with guns into another country to make it do what we say. Interesting that so many of the wealthier and more powerful ones have no problem hiring armed guards to keep them safe.

7. Social Darwinism

Actual Social Darwinism had its root in the rationalization for British colonization, but was opposed by Christians who rejected the idea that some ethnic groups were better than others. Liberals like to use the term today to accuse Conservatives of practicing it when opposing welfare. Conservatives, however oppose most welfare programs because the philosophy behind them is the assumption that minorities are incapable of success without the help of white Liberals, which is the essence of Social Darwinism. Conservatives believe that minorities are just as capable as any other race or ethnicity to achieve success without help, and social programs actually cripple minority communities by removing the basic motivations for success, and that minitories are just as deserving of the success they are capable of as any other group.

8. No War for Oil

Chanted by Liberals to imply that the Iraq war was actually, only about oil. There no real shortage of oil, it’s just expensive. Had we used the money we spent freeing Iraq, buying oil instead, we would have had ten times as much oil. Instead, we caused (temporarily, until Obama screwed it up) a stability in the world’s oil production which in turn weakened those oil producing nations (Saudi Arabia, Venezuela) who were funding terrorism and Communism. The goal was international stability which would have resulted in the reduction of violence world wide. That is until some moron named Obama yanked our troops out of Iraq, and set everything back two decades.

9. Choice

Liberals are in love with that word, as long as they get to define it. After making the choice to have sex and making the choice to not use birth control you find yourself pregnant and don’t want the inconvenience of having a baby, well, the Liberals demand that you have the additional choice of murdering that baby (thus removing any choice that baby would ever have for anything) and no one should deny you that. Want to drink a nice hefty, sugary drink in New York. Hold on there. Liberals say you shouldn’t be allowed that choice. After all you getting a bit thick in the middle is far worse than ripping another person limb from limb, isn’t it?

10. Democracy

No, America is not a Democracy. There has never existed a Democracy in the history of mankind. It’s a pure myth. Now the democratic process is something a lot of nations utilize, but not as its sole method of determining laws. The reason Liberals like misusing the term “Democracy” is that it furthers the illusion that the individual has power over the state. It makes simpletons feel more comfortable when you can convince them that they alone can go “vote that idiot out of office” rather than the vote being just one of many tools the individual can use to influence government, and that the vote itself is meaningless unless the voter has taken the time to study the candidates and the issues. See, its a lot like handing a toy steering wheel to a three year-old as you drive them somewhere, so they can pretend that they are also controlling the car. If you haven’t studied the candidates and the issues (studying does not mean watching their commercials) then your vote is as effective as that plastic steering wheel. The Democrats don’t want you to understand that, so they keep telling you America is a Democracy, and hand you a little plastic steering wheel to play with.

Might I add "comprehensive", when it's used in the context of immigration?

Comprehensive=AMNESTY

Or how about "common sense gun laws"...which means that we (liberals) get to tell everyone else when and how they can defend themselves. This of course is usually led up to by people like Obama with this lie....

"I believe in the individual right to keep and bear arms, BUT (insert one or more of the following).....

1. You can only buy one gun a month/year/decade.

2. You cannot own any gun that can fire more than 2 shots at a time.

3. You cannot own a firearm that LOOKS like what WE define as an "assault" weapon. (Odd...but I always thought that ANYTHING my attacker is wielding is an "assault" weapon!!!)

4. You have to ask our permission to own one as well as pay us $1000 per year for a permit.

"Working class"....anyone who works for wages and doesn't wear a suit or own a business and most importantly is in a union.

I find this to be really amusing, because people who wear suits usually work MORE than 40 hours a week with no overtime (they're on salary and or commission) and they have high levels of stress and less job security.

And I where it's really amusing is when you talk about business OWNERS! Business owners are ALWAYS "at work", unless they're sleeping...and even then....

Business owners are the ones who are many times at the job BEFORE the "working class" people show up, getting things ready for that day's job, and are there well AFTER the "working class" people have long gone home. They are also the ones that when times get a bit lean are the ones who may NOT get paid that week while the "working class" get's their check.

As you can tell I'm a business owner, and I highly RESENT the insinuation that I'm not a "worker"!!!!

If you go out every week and earn an honest living providing a good or service then you are working class!

Time to bring this topic back again...

The infection of liberal logic seems to have no bounds, especially when it comes to language.

Linguistic framing matters a great deal in politics. Sometimes, however, nuance is in the eye of the beholder. The New Republic’s Elizabeth Stoker Bruenig, for example, considers The Word ‘Taxpayer’ Tilts In Favor of Conservatives and Should Be Eliminated.

Isn't that a subtle recognition about those that live and survive on the government teat?

AM, yep

it's Loony Linguistics

first re-phrase, then re-define

when all that fails, re-write history with the same disregard

the key is to re-educate and/or dupe the masses, so far it has worked wonders

add phony inflections and the infection goes even deeper

Don't forget the latest and greatest cliche......

"We need to have a conversation about....."

Which usually winds up being anything BUT a conversation because only one side is blamed and the other side takes no responsibilty whatsoever.

Just more bullsh*t.

Bluetick.... missed one.... "________ justice".

Justice usually means a law has been broken and penalty must be paid... in this case just a penalty must be paid....and we are all guilty.... they make up the law as necessary.....

Some words they redefine the definition. "Freedom" now means you are free to chose from a list they will provide you....

Some words/phrases you will never hear. "case by case" is one. "independent" and "individual" a couple others.

Investment: when you take taxpayer dollars to pay for something that requires more taxpayer dollars to support every year.

A real investment makes you money. What government calls an investment is a financial black hole, ad infinitum. Take the California mass transit scheme, or any light rail line, for example.
