I always give the police the benefit of the doubt.
The police have always been and need to be held to a higher standard just like the military.
Stereotyping supporters as haters because they call one punk not following procedure when his life wasn't in danger that killed a man for selling cigarettes a thug is off base. Especially when said thug had many other officers to assist.
You may have not been referring to me but I wanted to clarify my position.

Being a COP today....is a very dangerous ungrateful profession! But I have a deep respect for them that do this job of "To Protect and Serve"!
And pigs will fly.
It'll be interesting to see if Mayor De Blasio shows up for the funeral....for the police. If he does I hope they spit on him. What a piece of sh*t!

Obama and Company have started a racial war.
nothing to see here, move along
Since you brought up the Garner case, O'Reilly stated on his show last night that the officer was not on the force any longer, and that should have been done. Is he a thug also?
Again, most of us believe the vast majority of officers do a very honorable job in very demanding, and often, thankless conditions. That should not negate our position of zero tolerance for officers who violate policy, and that is why O'Reilly said he was disciplined.
If you want zero tolerance then it has to go both ways. The public needs to be concerned about folks like you who want to call those of us who are balanced on this matter-thugs. I hope you are not an officer any longer!
If zero tolerance warrants a non-violent individual losing their life, then losing a job for violating department policy seems justified.
nice try but you don't get off that easy. Substituting personal attacks for substance may work with an idiot, but contrary to what your superior knowledge tells you I am not one.
I don't expect officers, or citizens to be perfect. Garner did not have a record that included violence, at least not that we have been made aware of. Common sense says an officer should approach these types of individuals differently than a known violent felon.
And we citizens do get to armchair quarterback. This function of government is established with citizen oversight-they are called boards. The LEO types like you who want to discount this check and balance are the ones we need to be worried about. This is not a monarchy and you are not our king. The citizens will get to decide what is appropriate behavior going forward, and this process will include peaceful demonstrations like the ones in NY have mostly been.
Our military puts their lives on the line daily, and probably for less pay and probably with as strict of rules of engagement as our police must live by. I respect all of our servants. But the minute they want to use inflammatory attacks as you have done for expressing concern about certain behaviors, it is time to take the authority away from you. That is a bed rock principle this country was founded on.
BTW, if I screamed at you in would all be in caps. This shows you used inflammatory wording instead of a reasoned argument. My words on this subject on all related threads have been measured. I would love to get your opinion on my thread about supporting the ACLU. I bet you have a problem with that individual questioning authority as well.
You really have an inflated view of yourself. First, you pontificate on how I or O'Reilly were not there. Neither were you, and your time as a military cop does not give you the absolute authority on this subject-just a news flash for you.
Second, you really think anyone cares about whether some blogger they will never meet respects them or not? You probably do.
So read this slowly. I do not expect public servants to have 100 percent compliance. And I do not expect citizens with minor offenses to lose their life when they are not in 100 percent compliance either. And I bet most of our citizens hold a similar view. Can you follow that logic without trying to twist it with loaded terminology?
This question is just for you two.
Q. Have you ever had to arrest someone who resisted said arrest?
. . . . and gflght, I have seen you post now on several threads that Garner was choked to death. Stop it, the coroners results have been out for weeks. He was not choked to death.
you are either intellectually dishonest or stupid, but probably both. That is because you take everything out of context, and know you are doing it.
My comment about zero tolerance for POs was to show how stupid the logic being used that citizens must have complete compliance. To assume a PO can give up exercising good judgment because a non-violent person did not immediately comply is typical of SOME POs who are power hungry.
I could care less about your opinion of me or whether you respect me. Several BSs have hunted with me and stayed at my farm-who cares and more importantly says nothing about my merit in life. I am accountable to God, and my wife.
Tony,
I am not in LE so no. I have had to deal with uncooperative people numerous times throughout my careers. I am old enough to know a harsh immediate stance will usually not get the results needed. But, that no doubt is the stance I would take if I felt threatened or the possibility of danger to mr or anyone else.
Regarding only the part of the Garner video that the public has...he resisted arrest, he disobeyed. He also APPEARED a to me to be backing up and was not a threat. I know nothing more than that except based on appearance it should be looked into by his superiors because a lost life should at a minimum demand that no matter his criminal history or any other characteristic.
O'Reilly stated that Garner had actually just broken up a fight. I wonder if that was true and part of the reason for the call?
Why can guys like TB conclude the GJ got it right but when the PO involved here is disciplined it was scalp hunting? Based off of the reactions I have seen, the department is not going to tolerate an officer being treated unfairly, nor should they. Maybe, just maybe the department like the GJ got it right and termination was warranted?
I will try again TB and see if you can follow the logic. If POs expect full compliance, then they must accept the same standards back. I believe that is unrealistic. I want officers and citizens to work with and respect each other. I do not believe the officers acted any different than their training allowed. But situations like this ought to provide an opportunity to review said training and where possible improve upon it.
If TBs position is that officers have never done anything wrong and we must allow them unfettered latitude, please move to Cuba! Realize situations like this allow departments to show they are doing their jobs extremely professionally. Most on the CF complain about the lack of transparency with the POTUS so why would we want anything different with police or education etc,? Shine a light on it and when everything comes back OK then their position is strengthened and the public's confidence will grow.
TB, I am done. I believe I have layed out a very consistent view here. I will never agree with those of you who are bothered by necessary criticism of LE agencies. Criticism is how all of us improve. I believe our police leadership agrees with the need for continual improvement, from them as well as us.
While you maintain that hold was not a choke, whatever is was I believe that is why the officer was disciplined?
While I was never in LE, when younger I was in enough situations that whatever that hold was I would have recognized it as a serious threat.
I may be assuming something incorrectly about your position here, so please clarify if necessary but I do not accept that one must have faced possibly violent situations like the Garner one to be able to look at the video and come to a reasonable conclusion-that being this at a minimum should be looked into.
Remember the public outrage over the King case in LA? remember what the participating officers said then? would that happen today?
Maybe I am naive again, but I believe the vast majority of officers are law abiding, policy abiding and are content when the rogue Cowboys that make their jobs more difficult are weeded out. Again, I do know if any thing was done incorrectly here. If this officer was treated unfairly I encourage him to exercise all legal options. There is no head hunting here, just want the truth and no rush to judgment from either view, regardless of experience, until all of the facts have been divulged.
I would like to see the officer reinstated if this was political but policy improved so a better outcome may happen the next time.
Yep I pushed your buttons to prove my hunch to myself. There is a reason you are not an officer. You can not tolerate any position other than your own. Your reading comprehension skills need work.
Funny, typical tactic of some of the regulars here. When someone offers a different view, that person's life becomes the issue. You are nothing but a bully, and bullies are fun to stand up to.
Possibly, or maybe his gloating for the photographers afterward. If the NYPD has released statements on his disciplinary actions, I have not read it anywhere.
By the way, a simple google search on how long it takes to choke someone to deat will reveal it is a lot longer than the time the officer had his arm around his neck.
I can only guess that gflight must be at the Mall of America protesting, as he continues to spread the lie that Garner was choked to death, and has not answered the question as to wether he has had to arrest someone who resisted said arrest.
Maybe it was the gloating, or maybe there were previous incidents that this officer was involved with and this was a progressive disciplinary action? I hope you get my point that if Garner's past is relevant, then there are other facts that may be relevant that the public is not aware of. Again this is why I suggest waiting until all of the facts are in.
If we trust a GJ to look at the evidence and make a determination then we should also understand that when average people view the video "evidence" of the Garner incident and some conclude that the end result was not on par with his conduct there should be a complete rejection of the type of attacks witnessed here against those who are voicing concern.
Many credible publications like the WSJ have had articles dealing with zero tolerance and the effects it has had on society like a very high percentage of our population that now has records that hurt employment and other aspects of people's lives. In fact ASSAULT was an example that was used as the term in recent times does not mean what it did a generation ago. A simple push today can bring charges of assault.
My take on all of this is society is coming to grips with things instituted a generation ago like zero tolerance and minimum mandatory sentencing. There has been a growing frustration and some of these recent incidents are witness to these issues finally reaching the boiling point. The difference in sentencing guidelines for cocaine versus crack for an example, the latter more commonly used by inner city folks has added to the perception by minorities that the current system is biased. This may not be the reality, but we better deal with the perceptions or we can expect more of the same.
You may be correct about how long it takes a healthy person to expire when their air flow is restricted. What I saw is a guy complain multiple times and then end up dead. Based solely upon that video, I am uncomfortable with the outcome.
Funny you bring up the gloating. Does that offer any possible insight into some of the allegations about the NYPD culture? Or that officer's judgment? Maybe that explains part of the protestors' outrage?
I already said that I do not know, because the NYPD has not released publically the disciplinary action report. I will not further Pontificate or play a what if game.
"Maybe that explains part of the protestors' outrage? "
My opinion is that Obummer, Sharpton, and the Media have had more to do with the protests and lawlessness than any other factor. Now you can add in DeBlasio to that cluster.
Last time I checked the stats on Ferguson arrests, 3 locals, 69 out of state'ers.
We all know and agree that there are the usual race baiters taking advantage of these situations for personal gain. Come on, that's life and we know it.
It is not pontificating to try and see trends by connecting dots. There is always some tension regarding laws and a free society. Recent events to me are just a sign that these events are providing a catalyst for change.
My opinion is that society is no longer willing to accept the huge economic costs of zero tolerance/mandatory minimums etc. and these events are setting forces into motion, which unfortunately some police are getting caught up in. That is how this relates to what I do, and explains my interest. Our budget challenges are having societal effects in ways most of us probably will not be aware of until much later.
Again, my opinion is that some of these policies will change to attempt to take pressure off. And alll other things being equal, crime rates will rise. IMO only, the other things that will have to change so crime rates do not increase is better leadership in some of these communities, cultural change that once again emphasize personal responsibility and accountability including a commitment to nuclear families etc.
While I say this as a 55 year old white male, I recognize I was blest to have been brought up in a family that adhered to the values expressed above, had respect for education and was fortunate to not have any debilitating health challenges. Not everyone is so fortunate.
I will also add that a deep belief in God was also, again IMHO only, a necessary and integral part.
As an economist, have you crunched the numbers, comparing the dollar amount of property lost, incomes lost, homes lost, small businessess lost, job opportunitys lost, lives destroyed, and Hospital Bills payed by taxpayers, due to letting rioters burn down Furgeson, as compared to the incarceration of felons ?
I would bet the incarceration numbers are far smaller a cost to society.
Not to ferguson, no. I think you could build more than one entire ferguson for what the nation pays in the full costs, not just incarceration. But, more importantly what type of society do we want?
The huge increase in spending on social programs trying to achieve greater equity over the last decade have a huge opportunity cost-reduced military and crime prevention come directly to mind.
You already know the huge litigation costs that result from these incidents. That in itself IMO should be enough to encourage us to at least try and minimize them.plow the savings back into increased officer pay and benefits but also more training.
Go ahead and laugh because I am asking this out of ignorance but would not some of the same negotiating skills used in more serious situations by LEOs be beneficial as opposed to multiple officers swarming the perp?

Compared to the Millions of dollars in Furgeson.
You are being quite disingenuous at the very least, H4W.
$168,000 per inmate. Multiply that by the number of inmates nationwide. It is much lhigher than millions of dollars.
Thugs murder, steal ...Violate rights=property of others.
That's what a thugs do......So what am I supposed to think?
That is kind of scary to me that they will blindly just follow orders no matter who gets killed and no matter if its right or not...
Wrong. He is dead because of HIS CHOICE to resist arrest for knowingly and repeatedly violating the law.
There really is no other reason for his death.
That is just a plain and simple fact, substainiated by the Grand Jury.
And they wouldn't have had to kill the man if he hadn't tried to defend HIS property...I mean HOW DARE HIM!
Dogsoldier, don't pay your personal property taxes, and see what happens to your personal property.
Similar to not paying cigarette taxes on your personal cigarette property.
Its called the Law, and if you don't like the Law, write your elected officials to change the Law . . .
. . . or you can choose to resist arrest . . . . . . .
I am betting that Garner's family wishes he could get a do-over, and make other choices than what he did.
Of course they probably would fire me within a week because I would never violate property=rights of anyone that was innocent, not harming anyone elses property=rights...
You know why I didn't? This sums it up right here.
“It is not in the nature of politics that the best men should be elected. The best men do not want to govern their fellowmen.” ?George MacDonald
"There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt.”
"No man can put a chain about the ankle of his fellow man without at last finding the other end fastened about his own neck."
Will just say I'm good friends with 2 cops, jailer and a dispatcher.
How about a female cop that has her cop buddies pull over her ex every evening coming home from work just to screw with him? I've seen and heard some serious cop bullying stories.
And you don't want to hear about the time I met a female cop at a bar for a date...I will never meet someone at a bar for a date again...LOL
I served my country on active duty for 7 years before that in the U.S. Navy....
I am at a point where I wish I could afford to retire today. The negative feedback from the public wears on a man (Or woman)........
No one is looking to murder a fireman....... No one is calling for the fireman to lose his job... No one is dragging a fireman into federal court to sue him for everything he has.....
My step son recently tried to get into our Police Department.
I'm glad he was not successful.
Dogsoldier;;; I hope with all your bull shit negativity that you post here on the Bowsite against the Police;; That you NEVER call 911 to ask for help from the Police.......

I certainly do not want cops or ANYONE killed.

I would speak out against a fire fighter or a nurse that is violating someone's property=rights just as much as I would a cop.

I didn't know him. But I was working the night he was killed. I saw the ambulance coming northbound on Beech and then west on 8 Mile Rd. to Bottsford Hospital.....

I can understand you being upset but you know you are held to a higher standard, even more so than soldiers and the media only shows the headlines about the power hungry or corrupt. If I didn't see good cops I would be more negative myself, our county sheriff's office just lost a deputy for having sex with a drug addict in his charge in the jail on camera.
I have never been abused by a cop. So far the only thing they have done to me to date is lie their ass off but they do that to everybody. And THAT is a big deal too. The public is supposed to be able to trust the police.
I DO NOT bash good cops.
I do remember 1 time cops came to my house, handcuffed me and took me to the station because of they believed I spray painted on the road.
They had no proof, witness or anything but they still took me in for in. That was bs. Finally the guys that actually did do it told them that I wasn't even there when it happened.
When my father was 17 he and his friend got caught drinking and they took them to the station. My father watched as they proceeded to beat the shit out of my dads friend to try and get him to tell where they got the beer. Dad said there was probably 15 cops standing around watching. The cop that was doing the punching is now a kind of famous prosecuting attorney in this area. Actually he may be retired now. My dad has told me that story a million times. Anytime that guy was on the news over something dad would cuss that sob...lol
Anyone who knows my dad knows he is not a liar.
That's another example of how a persons profession doesn't =good person.
When you repeatedly post time after time bad things that Police have done after a time it just appears to be piling on.........
Never have I seen you post anything positive about the Police. Never have I heard you say a nice word about the Police. Never have I heard you acknowledge that the VAST majority of Police Officers are honest and fair people sacrificing much to try to do a good job.
I think that what someone does for a living DOES have a bearing on their CHARACTER.......
For example ::: I hold someone who joins the Marine Corps and volunteers to fight for his/her country and all of our FREEDOM in the very highest regards.......
Could I surf the internet and find some wrongdoings by some Marines ??? Probably.....
But what a dis-service that would be to the VAST Majority of Marines who proudly and honorably serve their country each and every day.
Maybe go a little easier on the paranoid Paulbots, after all they have their convictions.;)
Many of you cannot have friends who don't parrot your beliefs..
The spin game here is to probe for personal stuff and use it against those who dont believe as you do.
I would love to be more open and build friendships with many of you but tactics here wont allow it.
Personal attacks and censorship is your clic SOP.
BLUF
Discussing politics and religion generally don't bring about good relationships and the theory is proven here....
Sadly; We have once again topped 100 Officers killed in the line of duty for the year......
I'd post the list from the Officer Down Memorial Page Website..... But I'm terrible with computers....
A parting note: as underwriters of government, all productive folks have a fiduciary responsibility to affect the highest function thereof. Criticizing a man for denouncing bad cops is akin to verbally flogging a man for saying Al Sharpton is a race baiting charlatan posing as a media commentator.

Thank you for your balanced comments. The number of officers that have been killed or murdered in the line of duty is entirely too high. God bless them and their families.
I was surprised to learn in a recent WSJ article that the number of civilians killed by LEOs is not recorded.
Remember this, the LEO has milliseconds to make the life and death decisions, but we have years to cuss and discuss whether or not the actions were justified.

Life and death decisions in milliseconds are part and parcel of our daily lives. Most don't involve gun violence, thankfully.
Media Nearly Silent After NC Cop Thwarts NYPD-Style Assassination Attempt
A Durham, NC police officer sitting in a parked car saved his own life Thursday night by catching the approach of two men in his squad car’s rear-view mirror.
The officer exited his vehicle to confront the pair, when one of the would-be assassins opened fire without saying a word:
A Durham police officer dove for cover Thursday night after a man walked up and began shooting at him, police said Friday.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. on Lakeland Street, just north of Truman Street. Police said Officer J.T. West was sitting in his patrol car, working on a report, when he saw two men approaching his car from behind.
As West got out of the car to speak to them, one of the men pulled out a gun and began firing, police said. The man fired six shots at West, striking the patrol car once.
West fired two rounds in return. Police said it wasn’t known if West wounded either of the men.
West injured his wrist when he dove behind a staircase at a vacant apartment building at 1414 Lakeland St. He was treated at a nearby hospital and released.
Police said West and the men, who ran from the scene, never exchanged words.
The attempted assassination mimicked the tactics used to murder NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu on December 20.
The Baltimore gang member who killed those walked up on the right rear of the officers’ marked police car and opened fire without warning. The gang member in that instance—who committed suicide minutes later in a subway as authorities closed in—cited the deaths of Michael Brown an Eric Garner as his excuse to “put pigs in a blanket.”
The obvious copycat nature of the attack and it’s near success was simply ignored by WRAL and was only noted in passing by ABC 11. The Raleigh News & Observer—infamous for their support of eugenics and backing the Ku Klux Klan in the only successful coup against an elected government in American history—likewise failed to mention the obvious similarities to the assassination of the two NYPD officers.
The national news media has not mentioned the attempted assassination at all, though it continues to fawn over the “social justice” revolutionaries using the mythologies of “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” and “I Can’t Breathe” as they disrupt lawful commerce, attack police officers, riot, and loot private businesses.
The left, in its all out effort to excuse black thug criminals from any responsibility of action, will have created an environment that things will continue to escalate whenever a policeman defends himself from those who march to the tune of obamunistic anarchy.
The chickens have come home to roost..
Hell I don't know any of you guys either. I don't know what you look like or your real names...LOL
I have never even bothered to look at your profiles. That's just stalkerish to me.
You are all hiding your identity from me!!!LOL

This is what determination looks like.
The president had flown to Hawaii and official Washington was on a holiday break, but Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke spent a busy Christmas week using his Twitter account to challenge President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and the liberal establishment for the ongoing rhetoric against the country’s police officers.
Clarke’s Twitter posts kicked off in earnest Tuesday with a comment about a Tennessee man being questioned about online threats he’d make against the NYPD in the wake of unrest in the Big Apple. Clarke left no question about who is responsible for the current atmosphere of antagonism between police and those who blame them for the troubles of the black community.
http://t.co/uoPyoOqPsc This pathway was created by Obama, Holder, de Blasio to unjustified cop hatred by crazies. I’ll make them own this.
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 24, 2014
But he directed his fire even wider — at the whole contemporary liberal system of government that fosters dependency in the same communities it pretends to be helping.
When I see tee shirts saying “I Can’t Breathe” I think of how liberal gov policy has its boot on the neck of the Black family.
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 23, 2014
There is no need to retrain police in America. We need to retrain politicians on how to end liberal gov policies that crippled Black America
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 23, 2014
http://t.co/1gEm3xakTA The facts don’t lie. Talk about, I can’t breathe? None of these blacks killed by other blacks can breathe either.
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 23, 2014
Clarke wasn’t done.
On Christmas Eve he was still at it, eviscerating protesters trying to equate the thug “martyrs” of the current mood of unrest with the great moments of the civil rights movement of the past.
Frederick Douglas, Dred Scott, Rosa Parks, Dr MLK Jr., Mike Brown. One of these names should not be listed among these. Guess which one?
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 24, 2014
And he blasted anew the official liberal line that these pretests are all the cops’ fault.
Anyone who thinks this anarchist assault on the police is about police treatment better wake up. It is a war by socialists on our democracy.
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 24, 2014
On Christmas Day, responding to yet another New York Times story that tried to highlight yet another manufactured fault line among Republicans over “law and order” issues, Clarke used Twitter to attack politicians who pander to the allegedly aggrieved by making excuses for illegal conduct.
http://t.co/shmUIvnTrh Normalizing criminal behavior in order to win an election is shameful conduct. The first duty of gov is to protect.
— David A. Clarke, Jr. (@SheriffClarke) December 25, 2014
Clarke rounded things out with a CNN interview Friday that again called out Obama, Holder and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio for their shameful part in promoting spurious anti-police protests.
The responses were plentiful — the hatred Clarke takes from a left that despises a black man with the self-respect to disagree with the Democrat-progressive worldview borders on astonishing. What white conservative has ever been called a “disgrace to his race”? Without getting too far into the muck of the liberal mindset, this one is a good example.
@CNN sheriff #davidClark, a DOWNRIGHT DISGRACE 2 his race! He’s NOTHING but a white mans letter “after” M, + IGNORANT 2 facts! #Milwaukee
— Vincent Strother (@StrotheVincent) December 26, 2014
But the encouragement of supporters was sincere.
@SheriffClarke Yes, citizens need to be protected from obama’s bloated, tyrannical, corrupt regime. Keep up the great work, Sheriff Clarke. — Anne Walker (@awalkerrn412) December 26, 2014
It’s a good bet he will — even on Christmas.

Cops shoot man pointing gun at them and mob swarms — calls it ‘just like Ferguson’
Some people just won’t let facts get in the way of their hatred for cops.
That certainly seemed the case early Friday morning, when a man was shot and killed by a police officer outside a Texas bar.
The manager of H.T.’s Lounge in Texas City had called police to report a man firing a gun at customers as they left the bar.
When an officer arrived, Carlton Smith, 20, pointed his weapon at the cop, who then fired several shots at the man, killing him, police spokesman Cpt. Joe Stanton told the Houston Chronicle.
After more officers arrived on the scene, a crowd almost immediately began to form, with some cursing and throwing bottles at officers, Stanton told the Chronicle.
Enter HERE for a chance to WIN a $100 Chick-fil-A gift card from BizPac Review!
After reviewing security surveillance video, the bar’s owner, Harris Aldridge, confirmed Smith moved toward the officer with the weapon, according to KENS5 Eyewitness News.
“Video shows him turning with the gun in his hand towards the cop,” Aldridge said. “I probably would have shot him. I mean he was turning, pulling the gun he had just shot and fired. So what are you going to do? Let him shoot you?”
Such reason didn’t dissuade some die-hard cop haters who made up their minds before hearing the facts.
“This brother was assassinated,” King Yashua, co-founder of the Nation of Liberation, told the Houston Chronicle. “It’s just like Ferguson.”
Other witnesses have come forward to dispute the police department’s version of events and the video evidence. One witness said another woman who was at the scene had fired a gun in the air before the deadly shot.
“The girl had the gun,” the witness told ABC 13. “Why’d they kill him?”
Smith’s relatives believe he was killed without reason.
“The police come from the back and just start shooting with guns pointing range and killed him,” Charleston Harris, Smith’s cousin, told KENS5.
Sometimes, people see what they want to see.
TBVIEC must be proud of what has happened to this country.
Reading about two police officers executed in the line of duty is horribly tragic, not something over which to gloat or parade for a point no one is debating.
Right here in your OP:
"Here's one for the cop haters/critics here, you know who you are. This ought to make your day."
For a point of agreement, I bet whomever you directed that comment is 100% onboard with the NYPD turning their backs on DeBlasio.

A few days ago;; Someone wrote "DEATH TO YOU" on one of our scout cars that was parked in a parking lot...........
-The inability to distinguish between criticism and hate explicit in your word choice is the issue I am addressing.
Dogsoldier has displayed his dislike for the Police time after time (after time)..........
He jumps onto each and every thread regarding police misconduct..... and regularly if not always proclaims that the officer involved violated someone's rights in some way. He NEVER gives an officer the benefit of the doubt........
He NEVER says that MOST Police Officers are GOOD;; Trying to do a very difficult and thankless job.......
Negativity towards the Police is what is SPAWNING violence toward the Police.... We had another threat of harm to our officers via the phone at our Police Desk last night..........

Chris is right: all the negativity directed towards LEOs by the Obama cabal and media just encourage the liberal supported thug mentality.

A Brooklyn judge is facing criticism after releasing two men who threatened to kill NYPD officers following last weekend's murder of two cops.
Criminal Court Judge Laura Johnson ruled on consecutive days this week that the two men could be released without bail, overruling prosecutors who wanted to keep them in custody.
All roads lead...
There are already high profile officers like Sheriff Clarke who are calling out everyone in the media and the administration for stirring up racial animus.
I have called him out on it twice, and he has yet to retract that statement, or even acknowledge that I called him out on it.
And, trublu is correct on his opinion on Dogsoldier constantly bashing cops. He forgot to mention Dogsoldiers obsession with the legalization of Marijuana though.
I have searhed for a thread where Dogsoldier has posted videos or links of cops doing good. So far I can find none.
;^) - just for the record . . . . . .
Not to worry if Dogsoldier takes a break, gflight seems to be taking up the slack lately.
Remarkably, neither Dog, gflight, or H4W have confirmed they ever walked a beat or had to arrest someone who resisted. That speaks volumnes to me.
Honestly, guys, we all can pick at any profession, and find example after example of people in that profession doing bad stuff.
Heck, I was a Marine for 20, and now a Marine is accused of killing a Phillipino Tranny. Does that make all Marines bad? Does that make all servicemen bad? Does that warrant a few on the CF constantly bashing Marines or servicemen?
The simple answer is no.
Spike, times three, man up on the Eric Garner thrread 'ALL COPS' thug statement, and take it back !
For the record, I stated the cops on the Garner collar were rightly exonerated by the grand jury. They did nothing wrong. All in all, the take down was soft in my opinion. Even the vaunted "choke hold" was overblown for political purposes.
JMHO
Please start checking your facts. I responded that I have never walked a beat or arrested anyone as I am a teacher.
You even accused me of being at best disingenuous about the costs of incarceration. Please read the opinion piece in last week's WSJ regarding exactly the high costs of incarceration. Also read one of the last posts on the BGF thread about the MT game warden regarding dollar costs.
While some of the criticisms aimed at some posters who never give credit to the majority of officers who are excellent public servants, there are some posters here who will not even acknowledge that some incidents of police misconduct or poor police policies exist.
Having been on the receiving end of having been googled and then information posted here in an attempt to discredit my view, I agree that there are some posters here who no matter what they claim are no friend of the values this country was founded on. Whenever someone is willing to silence those offering a rational position that they disagree with, IMO, they have more in common with totalitarian regimes.
I pride myself on trying to be fair and balanced. The poster here who attempted to discredit me I stood up for on this forum when he was, IMO, being unfairly judged. He probably does not even realize some of those attacking him probably did so in part because of his behavior here towards others.
BTW, I graduated from USMC OCS a in 1980. I am no liberal. I believe our LE do a very respectable job keeping a tenuous balance between freedom and anarchy. In fact, the best in the world! But, just like there are some bad teachers, there are some that need to move into another career. Fair criticism should never be discouraged. If anything I said here needs further clarification from anyone, I encourage them to ask before unjustly attacking me with what they thought I said in an attempt to play for their audience.
Semper FI Tony.
Another point that needs presenting. I have on multiple threads posted solely positive comments about certain LEOs. I am repeating when I state that the MDC Conservation Officer for my area is nothing short of awesome. He has worked tirelessly to help with certain local issues and his integrity is above reproach.
A fair search of my positions would have included this. So your summary of my views is inaccurate, at best!
What is just plain wrong is when LE is portrayed as a profession of mostly thugs or wanna be thugs who are looking for a way to lie, cheat, and otherwise mistreat the public.
If I have said something bad about a innocent person then please tell me who the person is...
But the VAST majority of Police Officers are just honest hard working people trying to do a very difficult job the right way..........
So Dogsoldier;;; Just let me hear you say it ONE TIME..............Then I'll leave it alone......
MOST Police Officers are GOOD Officers doing the job the best they can.........
Come on,,, You can say it...........
Absolutely the VAST MAJORITY of of all LEO are good people trying to do a good job that is extremely difficult and dangerous, even more so with some of our recent race baiting knuckleheads saying irresponsible things. I believe most people in life are good as well.
I stand by that statement.
Calling the cops will make things worse most of the time. They may even shoot your dog. I won't call the cops unless I just absolutely have to. You are free to do what you want also.
"So far the only thing they have done to me to date is lie their ass off but they do that to everybody."
Again?...I have never met a cop that didn't lie to me or someone I know. I'm sorry that they did that I guess?...Not my fault...
That has been my experience. Neither of these statements are saying anything bad about any specific good person.
Uh YEA REALLY!!...WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!
INNOCENT UNTILL PROVEN GUILTY!!!
Just because a person stole some bread 10 years ago or beat someone up doesn't make them guilty of doing it today!!!
Innocent until PROVEN guilty!
"Really? Your past criminal behavior should have no bearing on how you are treated on your next crime?"
Have you ever been in a court room? The only thing that matters is any evidence and facts that can convict you of THIS CRIME!...Previous record has no bearing on THIS case.
"So far the only thing they have done to me to date is lie their ass off but they do that to everybody."
"And why do people bring up arrest records?...I would like to think that my past would have no bearing on a present crime that's happened or convict me of it." Uh YEA REALLY!!...WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!
INNOCENT UNTILL PROVEN GUILTY!!!
You're wrong DS. If you're a habitual Drunk Driver, Wife beater, Drug dealer, Sex offender and the list goes on. I could see an opinion of don't get the Police involved. Yes they will make things worst. If you're the person breaking the law. Any Criminal would think/believe the Police lie against them. That is no surprise either.
When it comes to this....This is just my personal opinion.
I personally am afraid to call the cops unless I just absolutely have to. I have several dogs that I love very much and I'd hate for them to be shot.
I have just seen it happen too many times where the person that calls the cops ends up regretting it in some way. I don't blame most of this on the cops either, I blame the politicians for making stupid laws and police procedures.
We live in a time where you CANNOT go about your day without breaking a law because there are soo many.
The growing police state and mistrust of police is pretty much ALL politicians fault.
A law might look good on paper in a politicians office but when it comes to enforcing it on the street, doesn't work so good. Many cops I know have told me this.

Things like this.
In 2012 there were 9,000 lawsuits brought against police just in New York. The number has doubled in the past decade.
H4W,
You said, "Please start checking your facts. I responded that I have never walked a beat or arrested anyone as I am a teacher. "
You spoke truly, I was mistaken, I beg forgiveness and please accept my humble apology.
Tony
The long Arm of the law is allowing the EPA to be enforcing everything they are. No mud in the roads, the rainwater bullshit they're trying to enforce.
It may come as a shock to some of you, but I'm not a fan at all of eminent domain laws. These are a few examples of many many many many laws that shouldn't exist. Think Dodd frank.....think EPA standards.....I could stomach the EPA if it weren't a never ending power grab, but that wouldn't be the government we all know and love, now would it? I'm not s police hater. I'm a stupid law hater.
Let me say again to those that'll ask me if I should be allowed to follow which laws I like and which laws I hate.....I'll do what I do, and you follow your politicians into the gates of hell. March on gestapo!!
MOST POLICE OFFICERS ARE GOOD OFFICERS DOING THE BEST JOB THEY CAN.........
COME ON MAN,,,,,,ADMIT IT !!! STOP IGNORING IT.

Report: Gun Deaths Of Officers Jump 56 Percent WASHINGTON — The number of law enforcement officers killed by firearms in the U.S. jumped by 56 percent this year and included 15 ambush assaults, according to a report released Tuesday.
The annual report by the nonprofit National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund found that 50 officers were killed by guns this year, compared to 32 in 2013.
In all, the report found that 126 federal, local, tribal and territorial officers were killed in the line of duty in 2014. That’s a 24 percent jump from last year’s 102 on-duty deaths. Shootings were the leading cause of officer deaths in 2014 followed by traffic-related fatalities, at 49.
The sharp increase in gun-related deaths among officers followed a dramatic dip in 2013, when the figure fell to levels not seen since the 19th century. This year’s uptick comes amid increased tension between police and the public following the high-profile deaths of unarmed black men by white police officers, including that of Eric Garner in New York and Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
The states that saw the most officer deaths were California, at 14, Texas, at 11, and New York, at nine. Florida followed with six deaths, and Georgia had five, according to the report.
The 15 ambush assaults on police officers this year compares to just five in 2013, but matched 2012 for the highest total since 1995, the report said.
“With the increasing number of ambush-style attacks against our officers, I am deeply concerned that a growing anti-government sentiment in America is influencing weak-minded individuals to launch violent assaults against the men and women working to enforce our laws and keep our nation safe,” said Craig Floyd, chairman and CEO of the memorial fund.
“Enough is enough,” he said in a statement. “We need to tone down the rhetoric and rally in support of law enforcement and against lawlessness.”
Among the ambush assaults were the fatal attacks on two police officers in New York City on Dec. 20. Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were gunned down in their patrol car by Ismaaiyl Brinsley after Brinsley had made threatening posts online, including a vow to put “wings on pigs” and references to the Garner and Brown cases.
After shooting the officers, Brinsley ran into a subway station and killed himself. Police said he was troubled and had shot and wounded an ex-girlfriend in Baltimore earlier that day.
Blogjogging this morning, news articles relate mass (seemingly organized)brawling in malls, wanton destruction of merchandise in stores, disrupting the general public. Few, if any, arrests made for the simple fact that it has come to the point where enforcement of this sort of behavior only begets an increase in it.
Iowahawk has been noted for having the "tweet of the year" when he commented on the video of a car forcing its way through "protesters" blocking the street by noting that they should have called 911.
We are seeing the outcome of tolerated anarchy encouraged by this administration and abetted by a complicit media promoting the tolerance of weaponized community organization: obamunism.
6 Teens Charged With Attacking 2 Boston Police Officers
BOSTON (CBS) – Two Boston police officers ended up in the hospital after they were attacked by a group of teenagers, police said.
The officers, a man and a woman, went to an apartment building on Wayne Street in Roxbury Monday morning to serve a warrant on 19-year-old Woodbenson Morisset for defaulting on court appearances.
Police Commissioner William Evans told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 when they were about to put handcuffs on Morisset, he yelled out and some nearby apartments emptied out.
Six teens attacked the officers, according to Evans, kicking them and punching them.
The officers did not draw their guns, but they did use pepper spray to fight the teens off until other officers arrived.
The teenagers, which included four girls, ranged in age from 13 to 18 years old.
They were arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
Both officers were taken to the hospital with what was described as “non-life threatening injuries.”
Their names have not been released.
Five of the teens will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court Tuesday.
The sixth, 18-year-old Lorcen Morisset, will be arraigned in Roxbury Municipal Court with Woodbenson Morisset.
It's getting to the point where often I hear Troy Landry (Swamp People)saying, "'choot 'em, Elizabeth--just shoot 'em..." when I read these stories. ;o(
I admire the restraint that Chris and other LEOs demonstrate on a daily basis when having to deal with the likes of the "don't breath/can't think" crowd.
You heard it. If you don't support Obama and all this government intrusion you are the reason cops are dying. To stop influencing the weak minded I recommend you guys all get a support Obama bumper sticker. If you don't you should consider yourselves an accomplice to cop killings...8^(
Lets pull some facts from the article. 2013 lowest cop gun deaths since 19th century. 2012 had the same number as this year. Nothing but a BS article to support our community organizer/race baiter in chief and blame people who question authority.
So according to this article, not a crazy man with a gun but anti government sentiment is clearly the blame here. I am suprised the author didn't blame guns as well.....
The growing police state and mistrust of police is pretty much ALL politicians fault. "
DS, you're exaggerating. There is no police state in this country.
And so it continues...
Just look at the selfless sacrifice of not only NY's police officers, but the FD and other first responders did on 9-11. That is the truest measure of their culture one can find-true heroes.
I have no doubt that while maybe the training in other locales would not be on par with that of NY's, the response by the police and others would be just as exemplary.
It is sad that a few bad apples in every profession have such a negative impact on the rest.
FYI, about 2 years ago my wife and I were in Subway waiting in line to be served. A mom with 2 young kids who were eating greeted their late arriving father who was a state trooper. We overheard him apologize for being late to his family as he had an emergency call. We let him cut in front of us and after he ordered we told the server to put his lunch on our tab. I am no hater of LEOs and would appreciate it if some here would quit accusing me of being one.
BREAKING: Man Wanted For Threatening To Murder Police Officers Killed When He Tries To Run Over Cops…
New liberal martyr?
DREXEL HILL, Pa. (WPVI) — One man is dead following a officer involved shooting in Drexel Hill, Delaware County Tuesday night.
Police say the man had posted rants on YouTube, threatening to kill police officers and FBI agents. They say they were attempting to apprehend the man when the deadly incident unfolded.
It happened around 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of Garrett Road and Shadeland Avenue.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood explains that it all started after police learned of the online threats.
Police obtained an arrest warrant and went to a home in Clifton where the man was observed leaving the scene.
They followed him into Drexel Hill, eventually attempting to stop him at Garrett Road and Shadeland Avenue.
According to Chitwood, “They go to stop him. He tried to run down a couple cops. He smashed into the police chief from Clifton’s car. The police officers, in fear for their lives, fired several shots, struck the individual.”
Multiple officers opened fire, killing the suspect.
Police have released very little information about the suspect’s identity, only saying he is a 52-year-old white male.
