Frist id like to say the people there are the nicest people in the world. They are dedicated to patient and family above all. We went in for a check up on Tuesday at 3:30p and discussed the next day's procedure's that changed a few times but we new what to expect the next day. At 6:30a we checked in to St Mary's for radiation shots to see where the drainage went and what lymph node. We then hoped a shuttle to the Gonda building where they cut everything back out and then some. They took a little over half of her noise and a little of her cheek. That took 6 hrs to complete. But they think they got it all. We then hopped a shuttle back to St. Mary's where they went and took the lymph node that the radiation had drained to. No cancer in that lymph node. We think that as of now she is cancer free. We go back in 10 days for a follow up. And to see the prosthetic doctor. They want to wait a couple of months to make sure it don't come back. When their sure they can rebuild her nose. Thank you for your prayers and thank God for places like Mayo.

Glad to hear that... That's got to be the toughest thing any of us will face, life threatening illness in a spouse or child while trying to be strong for them..

And yes, Mayo is amazing, a friend went there (Scottsdale) as the last option for treatment of debilitating headaches. They had him fixed up in months after dealing with multiple local doctors for years.

Pat - that is VERY good news. Your wife will need a lot of comfort until they can work on her nose.

Now the question for her - will she choose the Audrey Hepburn? The Kate Middleton? Stay away from the Ernest Borgnine.

Again, that is the news that I was hoping for.

She came up to the hole this morning that's where all my huntin and fishing stuff is and my computer and wanted me to take to work for a meeting. I about fell out of my chair. She was escorted back to the couch where she needs to be. and has remained the rest of the day. I got to wonder what she's thinking!
