It's that time of the Year!!!
Playoff hawkee is Back in action starting Wednesday night! Did your Team get in? Are you optimistic with your team's chances in the first round?
Great to see some new blood this year with the Sens and Jets back in the mix.
Looks to be some great match-ups right out of the gate in round 1. Western matchups could go any-which-way, with no easy out.
Good luck to your team(s)! Except when or if they play the WILD!
I'm a Blues fan. We are always optimistic. One of our favorite sayings is "Wait till next year"...8^)
Seriously, this could be their year. These guys aren't like teams from the past talent wise. We have 3 scoring lines and two penalty killer squads...No single scorer, but a whole slew of them. Good size boys and there isn't a team out there that scares them...Maybe this is the YEAR!!!
I'm thinking the Wild are gone after the 1st round...8^)
Blues will be a tough out for the Wild. They'll need to steal one in the Scott. Duuuubs will have to stand on his head for the Wild.
This will be a dump, chase and grind it out in the board series... of course for the Blues, if they do it it will be with Minnesota boyz. 8)
Wings are in for the 24th consecutive year. My hopes are realistic at best. Watched the last home game at the Joe and they looked like a young team not quite ready for prime time. They didn't have that 'going into the playoffs' fire, too many 'rookie mistakes' and Jimmy Howard just doesn't seem playoff sharp for 60 minutes. The best part of this season is my Dutch wife discovered she loves hockey so we're going to our 1st playoff game and I'll have a cheering partner in front of the TV. Coolest Game on Earth at the best time of year. Go Wings!!!
24 straight Playoffs! that is an amazing statistic.
Wild gonna kick azz.
Book it!
Wings stole the opener on the road !!! Screw Jimmy Howard.......... Keep Mrazek in .........
It was kind of somber seeing the Wings play against my boyhood hockey hero's team....... Stevie Y...........
He'll always be my favorite hockey player...... I remember seeing him carry the Wings in his early years..... and build the Wings into a Dynasty....
Yzerman is class all the way.... It will be a great series.
Prediction: Rangers/Ducks final. Rangers in 6.
Sad that my Av's are golfing. Wings goalie was amazing last night but he can't steal every game. But Mr. Babcock will be able to sign sooner to coach Maple Loafs and get a head start on all the work he will have to do. Gonna be some aches and pains in the ducks/jets series, those boys are hitters! Not a Martin St. Louis fan so hope the rangers get surprised but doubtful. But Nash is a beaut. Gotta cheer for Flames I guess. Enjoy some grat hockey boys and girls!
I'm a disappointed Flyers fan. Another year w/o a playoff game. This year they defied all odds by losing to poor teams while having a winning record against playoff bound teams. grrrr At least they swept the Pens...hehe
I bleed orange and black so I can't root for any other team. I'll just be taking my puck and go home.
I was glad to see the Wings 'escape' with a W. They have a lot of work to do before Saturday. You can't get outshot 3/1 and depend a goalie and short-handed goals to win the CUP. They did kill 6 penalties but gave up 12 shots as well. Tampa completely dominated the game from a speed and puck control perspective.
I'll be at Game 4,not expecting it to be the last game of the series by any means though.
Go Wings!!
now if the Preds can take the Hawks through another double OT game. that would be great.
GO SABRES!!! oh wait a minute... nevermind...
You might be right Crow, Best I've seen them look since Hadfield Ratelle, Gilbert days.
WILD! Oh yeah! You Betcha!!!
Rooting for the Jets Too?
Edit: jets lose in OT. 8(
The Blues are the Chicago Cubs of Hockey.....
The Wild look tough.
Seriously think they're gonna make a run at it.
I'm just trying to find out who brought the goat into the Blue's arena...
Wings played their strongest game yet last night. Mrazek shutout Had the Bolts on their heels finally. They're still giving up too many penalties but are playing with the intensity they need now. Going to be great game on Thursday. Go WINGS!
YUK! what the H was that last night ---> Wild?
They got completely drilled 6-1.
I may have to rethink my optimism.
Rangers played bad last night and still came away with a win. They'll turn the first page tomorrow night at home.
Anaheim flattened Winnipeg, Rangers rolled the Penguins in 5 games. I still think these are the two likely finalists. If that's the case, go Rangers. Even though I'm in California, ain't no WAY in hell I'll ever root for the Ducks.
It's a grim, grim year to be a Sharks fan :-(
I don't know which team for either side will show up tomorrow?
adavance ------------> WILD!
Ahh what the heck,
Go bolts!
MT in MO - "I'm thinking the Wild are gone after the 1st round...8^)"
Gone to Chicago?
Kidding! I like the handshakes after the game. These guys beat the crap out of each other for 6 games and then man-hug. It would be interesting to hear what is said.
Parise really came up big for the Wild.
Nice to see him earn that fat pay check.
It will be interesting to see which Wings team shows up tonight. They certainly got their game fired up on Saturday. Sure would like to see them finish the Lightnening tonight at home. They need a very strong start as I'm sure the Bolts will come out flying, to stay out of the penalty box and Peter Mzarek to keep playing like he did Saturday.
Go Wings!
Well what do ya know....the Blues have a wonderful regular season followed by a disappointing performance in the playoffs.
In other shocking news, the sun will rise in the east and set in the west tomorrow.
Kirk (extremely disgruntled Blues fan)
Just wait till next year...8^)
The Wild have arguably been the best team in hockey since mid January. No shame in losing to them.
Chicago will be tough though. Very tough.
going to be a long week waiting for round 2 to start up.
Ahh what the heck,
Go bolts!
Again
Man, Can't believe my wings let that series get away from them. That game 4 was the killer. Giving up a 2 goal lead near the end of the 3rd in a playoff series is never good. Hard fought game 7 though. No shame in that loss. Bishop did great and stole it from the wings at the right time. Great series.
I normally don't have a favorite team but I'm on a Rangers kick this year. Wild have a very good young team and are fun to watch. I'm a little torn there.
truth be told, I'm not a big fan
last time I followed the lightning there was a certain vendor who kindly gave me club seats to several games, had great times with my wife..we loved it
something else happened that same season, TB won the Stanley Cup!
What a great experience, hope they do it again and make the real fans happy
Go Bolts!!
I'm with you deerslayer. They improved almost every game and played an incredible game 7. I was at both game 4 & 6 at the Joe. (perhaps I shouldn't go to playoff games anymore) but the 3 goals allowed in game 4 and first 2 of game 6 were the exact same goal. They left the back door open and someone broke in uncovered to score. Game 7 was their best game of the series but you have to give great credit to the Bolts. Wings made 1 mistake behind the net and the Bolts capitalized. Great Series, sorry to see the Wings end early. So on to round 2. Guess I'll go back to my youthful days of the early 70s in Boston and be a Habs fan again.
Go Habs!
TTT
a 'go bolts' is in order
frigg da habs
The $%@#! Ducks are looking pretty well oiled right now. They will play the 'Hawks next round, and I think they will roll Chicago pretty handily. Any eastern conference team that is still in it will have to up their game if they want to beat them in the finals.
Round 3 may be the only time I ever have, or ever will, cheer for the Blackhawks. Did I mention that I hate the $%#! Ducks?
Game 7 between the Caps and Rangers tonight. I thought that the Rangers would dispatch the Caps pretty easily, but Washington has certainly stepped up their game.
The Bolts unleashed some serious carnage on the Habs last night. Impressive win, and they'll be a tough out in the next round.

Today's background picture.
Bolts and Ducks would be a great final. 2 big physical teams. Old time hockey!
sumbitsh
there's two of us!
go Bolts!
I jinxed em tonight it....sorry!
Go Ducks!!!!!
(kripes, now I'm that guy)
Go BOLTS!
Bishop is better than Crawford but Stamkos, Callahan, and Hedman don't match up to Toews, Kane and Kieth. Chicago in 6. Conn Smythe Trophy (playoff MVP) to South Buffalos own, Patrick Kane!!!!!
Go Bolts! that was a fun game!!
Chitcago may just take the cup, if they do it's all due to that goalie! wow! Last nights game would have been 8-2 Bolts if not for Crawford, awesome goal tender, great series
Go Bolts!

Right now advantage Chicago. More experienced coach, more experienced team that knows how to close, and Jim Cornelison singing the National Anthem before a series clinching game :-)

Con Smythe won't go to Kane. Duncan Keith is definitely the front runner for that award.
Ik, you may be wrong but you may be right
either way, pure entertainment
Go Bolts!
2-0 shutout. 'Hawks hoist the Cup, Duncan Keith wins Con Smythe. The 'Bolts played one hell of a series, 5 of 6 games decided by a single goal. It doesn't get closer than that.
yep
one helluva series, hats off to chitcago
