The Supreme Court is going to answer that question, the court announced Tuesday morning. The question lies at the heart of a Texas case, and both sides say it will help clarify what the Constitutional principle of one-person-one-vote means at the heart of the Equal Protection Clause.

Should have been registered voters all along.

Not registered you don't count simple as that.

"Perhaps even only actual voters." So in dem strongholds, they leverage their corrupt voting practices by getting additional representation for every illegal vote?

Do you really want to go there?

The politicians count all the illegals and their kids when redistricting now.

It is the whole reason the Texas case went to SCOTUS.

The reason we have congressional districts is two-fold.

1) Representation. We get one House representative for every 35,000 people (?). Each rep represents a specific 35,000. Without defined districts, you have no specific rep. There would be nothing stopping you from petitioning all the reps from your state.

2) Population. Without districts (and eventual/inevitable REdistricting), fair and equal representation would be virtually impossible because growing urban areas would soon have even more undue influence than they already do. Rural, low population and population-stagnant areas would be ignored altogether.

The best way to improve the outcomes in elections is for us to get more people like us to actually vote. There is so much apathy in primaries, it is disgusting! If everyone on this site just worked on getting one person to register, it would make a difference.

The GOP has little impact on who survives....that's my point about getting more informed people to vote in the primaries. No one wants another McCain/Romney

"The GOP has little impact on who survives"

As Shuteye said on the cheating thread.....

"How many people believe that Romney didn't get a single vote in Philadelphia? There were places in Ohio where he didn't get any votes and 110% of registered voters voted. Cheating will take place and nothing will be done about it."

But the GOP that changed the rules mid stream and reported Romney won Iowa over Santorum wouldn't cheat...

Well one thing they can do is STOP having the #!$%#*% ballots in SPANISH!!!

If you can't read/write ENGLISH then how the hell can you be legal to vote???

"No one wants another McCain/Romney" Sadly, that is not true.
