I'm really liking what BJ says ? Am I missing something as to why he's not receiving more support ?
Racism. The press is terrified that anyone but a white male will be the face of the republican party.
A little charisma would go a long way.
His speaking has certainly improved over the past few years. I like him a lot.
He's probably a good man.
Good men don't become president any more.
His approval rating among his constituents in Louisiana has gone way down. I don't know all the details, but I'm pretty sure his approval rating there is underwater. Whatever the reason is, I'm sure it will become an issue in the campaign IF Jindal starts getting some traction.

I have observed that the people think they want conservative leadership, but when they get it, they are often unwilling or unable to follow through with what it means.
HIs Christianity makes him one of the best of cantidates except to those opposed to Christ.
God bless, Steve
"I have observed that the people think they want conservative leadership, but when they get it, they are often unwilling or unable to follow through with what it means."
It's also possible (again, I said I don't know all the details) that the Conservatives who elected him were disillusioned when he did something that wasn't very Conservative.
joshuaf, that could be, but the criticism is coming for doing things like cutting taxes and spending.
"but the criticism is coming for doing things like cutting taxes and spending"
Obama is more popular right now in Louisiana than Jindal is, according to polls. That's deep red, hugely Conservative Louisiana. I think it goes deeper than the possibility of average voters in Louisiana being concerned about cutting taxes and spending. A lot of people are upset that the state is in a Budget crisis right now and Jindal is an absentee Governor, jetting all over the place campaigning for President.
HA/KS, yea, I know. Just a mistake. Realized it after I submitted it.
"That's deep red, hugely Conservative Louisiana"
Since WWII 12 democrat governors and 4 republican governors.
IaHawkeye, my point wasn't so much that you misspelled his name as that he is so little known that most don't even notice when you do.
I could never criticize anyone for either their spelling or their typing as I an not good at either.
(to wit the typo above even after proof reading and correcting numerous others!)
Jindal is a good man but ineffective as a Governor. He delegated authority to a bunch of Politicians that switched parties to get elected but didn't switch philosophies! We have a Budget/Spending Crisis here in Louisiana!
I like him but he just said we need tougher gun laws to prevent mentally challenged people from buying guns. We already have that law.
Bigpizzaman, that confirms one of my ideas about candidates. It is not enough to just have the correct ideology, they also must be able to effectively implement that ideology - and convince the people to like it.
There are three separate qualifications on just that short list!
My wife would be perfect on #1, but probably fail miserably on the other two.
"Since WWII 12 democrat governors and 4 republican governors."
2012 Republican Primary
Santorum - 49% Romney - 27%
That says a lot about how Conservative the state is, regardless of how many Democrat Governors have gotten elected by the sheer population of the city of New Orleans.
The republicans may be conservative, but that does not mean that the state is. However, they have only gone democrat in 3 of the last 10 presidential elections.
I don't think he has a snowballs chance.
But then in all honesty most of them don't. So why do they run?
IMO it has become a strategy to run.... knowing you will fall short, but get your name out there, gain consideration as an asset for a running mate, a vice presidential choice to whoever the nomination goes to.
