I just don't think that too many of the SCJ's (both present as well as future) are going to agree to be euthanized at 45. :^)
I know a gentleman that just turned 90 back a few months ago. Besides my dad, he was probably the second most influential man to me growing up. His mind is still as sharp as a tack!!!
He just quit bowhunting a couple of years ago. He finally hung up his bow after having the biggest buck of his life walk up within 20yds and he wasn't able to get his bow pulled back.
We tried to tell him he could use a crossbow, but he said he'd had a long and successful hunting career and he'll be happy to just go out and sit in the woods and watch.
When its his time, I hope they find him sitting in the woods with his eyes closed and a smile on his face!!!!
And a 25 year old exhausted super model next to him.
In January the doctors gave him two weeks to live and he died February 28. We were in the den and we thought he was about gone and my wife Waked in. He opened his eyes and Said, "Eunice, scratch my back." She raised him up and scratched his back and he was happy. I can't go in the woods without thinking of where my dad killed deer and my grandfather caught coons, otters and muskrats. They both spent an enormous amount of time teaching me.
I don't think that the age is as much of an issue as that one judge can be on the court for 50 years more or less. I am sure that was not even thought of when they wrote the constitution.
