More so than any other position in the NFL Draft, the class of quarterbacks is wholly judged by whether or not you think there is a franchise player or two among the group. In the 2016 NFL Draft, there might be.
If you are a believer in the talents of Jared Goff of California and Carson Wentz of North Dakota State, it's a good class. If you're comfortable including Paxton Lynch of Memphis in that franchise grouping, then it's a great class. Those three are in a tier above the rest of the class, with Goff and Wentz clearly in the top two.
Ah, that was not nice...8^)
My bet is the Browns are taking Wentz with #2 pick, although radio insider said the team indicates they are leaning towards Goff...
The Rams just traded with the Titans for the Overall #1 pick, which surely be a QB, either Carson Wentz or Jared Goff.
To make the trade, they gave the Titans their first FOUR picks in this year's draft and their #1 and #3 pick next year.
But Tennessee wins regardless, given all the extra high draft picks they just got!
All they gave up was their place in this year's draft, getting the #15 pick instead of the #1 pick. But what they got in return is mind-blowing!
If Wentz/Goff doesn't become their franchise QB, this trade will do down in history right along with the trade the Vikings made with Dallas for Hershel Walker.
I'm kinda' bummed out as well.
The Bleacher Report now has the Rams taking Goff and the Browns picking Wentz.
I was hoping the Browns would take Goff and the 49'ers would be able to pick Wentz at #7. That's not looking good at all anymore, unless the Browns pass on picking a QB and take Laremy Tunsil instead.
If I were Goff or Wentz, I'd be hating my position as the number two pick to Cleveland. That club is a QB killer. I wish they weren't, but for some reason they can't seem to get out of their own way.
As an aside, what do you guys think about the possible relocation of the Raiders to Las Vegas? I think it would be a good fit myself. I am not a Vegas fan or Raiders fan, but the combo could be beneficial to both sides the way I see it.
Has the NFL approved Las Vegas as an agreeable site for a team?
They used to oppose it because the mafia controlled so much of the town. But as far as I know, the mafia is no longer an issue there. Well, other than Harry Reid, that is.

I've read that some owners are against it while others are for it. I heard that Jerry Jones is totally on board with it, while Mara of the Giants ownership is totally against it. I guess the owners of teams can vote on where other teams go...???
Its turned into quite the cluster if you chase through the articles. I guess the Raiders or the Chargers were supposed to buy into the Rams new stadium. OR the Raiders/Chargers were going to go halvsies on a stadium of their own and split the Los Angeles market.
If the Raiders go to Vegas, then the Rams could be left holding the bag should another proposed stadium be built on a different site in SD to keep the Chargers home.
Kind of like the GOP ain't it? LOL.
As I recall, any move of a franchise requires at least 75% approval from the owners.
Also said, SI's Peter King says Browns might now trade down...
If he gets dealt, it'll be right before the draft.
Because the Niner's didn't release him by the deadline earlier this month, Kaep's now guaranteed the $11.9M.
Hence the reason he doesn't want to give away $4,900,000 to sign with Denver.
The Browns have three clear options at No. 2:
• Stay put and take whichever quarterback the Rams don't, either Jared Goff or Carson Wentz • Stay put and take a non-quarterback such as Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey or Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil • Trade down to the highest bidder and find a quarterback elsewhere in the draft
Personally, if the Rams take Wentz I'd draft down with that Eagles deal,,, but if the Rams take Goff, I'd take Wentz at #2... I think Wentz is far above Goff after watching the combine and highlights...

Gutsy move, too. I think Cleveland helped themselves quite a bit.
What have you got against Wentz? ;^)
Do you guys think LA and Philly made a deal and both know who's taking who?
It'll be clearer in a few days.
They really need O Line help.
It's the old 'Spy vs. Spy vs. Spy' thing.
WRT knowing what you are doing, I'm sure that people know who the Rams are talking to, since they can start negotiating with anyone, as they have the first pick. Agents have a vested interest in telling folks there is competition out there.
And lying/misleading folks about it.
I get my hopes up every year, and after 4 games it is over. One time before I die, please Lord.
Usually after my first cup of coffee.

I'm still miffed over the Roethlisberger draft deal... He's from northern Ohio, and made known he wanted to go to the Browns and the Browns moved up one slot from 7th to 6th to draft Kellen Winslow Jr.... Steelers took Rapelisberger...8^) with the 12th pick.... Now, how'd that work out...
Seems like any time the Chargers are picking in the top 5 they blow it (other than the trades involving LT), but I don't see how they can mess this one up! Talk about a gift. I still want them to take Tunsil but I will be a happy man with Ramsey, or a trade down to 5-7 and get Buckner and another good pick.

When it comes to having an eventful offseason, no team can beat the Denver Broncos.
Likely happen, (likely on Draft Day Thursday) but not so at this time, they are still setting on pick 8...
Rumor has it, they wanted Paxton Lynch all along, and set smoke screen for #2... They talking about drafing down a little more into the mid round (like with the Titans at 15), and then drafting Lynch before the Broncos...
Still wondering how my Chargers are going to mess this one up. I know he might not have the highest value but Deforest Buckner really looks like a solid value, low risk type pick even at 3. He has the best natural fit and might have the highest impact overall immediately for them. Ramsey although looks incredible too, but not the sexiest stats in the world for a college team with that much success. Tunsil would be fine but that's a lot of money sitting on the bench if they pick him and either Dunlap or Tunsil sits on the bench without injuries. His injury history and possible character issues are worth taking a hard look at if I was the GM of the Chargers. I would rather they not pick Bosa or Jack. If Bosa is it I'll be shocked. He'll have a big learning curve playing LB in SD but his upside is hard to ignore. Myles Jack also has question marks in my mind from a durability perspective but has huge potential to be a game changer.
I guess the Kaepernick drama is going to wait until Thursday. Unless anyone is hearing anything tangible?
Patriots will not pick until the end of the 2nd round unless they trade up. The first round pick for the Patriots was never legally disputed. Kraft accepted the penalty, even though insiders are now saying team execs are complaining that the Patriots should get their picks back because there was never any proof. They were all so happy the Pats got screwed until the recent ruling showed them all a simple, frightening truth: Goodell can rule whatever he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants, for absolutely no reason at all.
Deal????
yeah, yeah.....just trying to figure out how we Eagles fans recover some picks to get 2nd pick this year
I also predict that Tom Telesco will get antsy towards the end of the 1st round and trade up giving away a 3rd or 4th Round pick for the 4th year in a row to get Ryan Kelly the Center from Alabama. And of course he will pick a guy in the 3rd round that every other team has rated in the 5th-7th round a la Chris Watt or Craig Mager from the last two drafts. At this point I'm almost shocked that they got such great value in the 3rd Round with Keenan Allen a few years ago. Other than that I say it goes Goff, Wentz, Stanley, Ramsey, Bosa, Tunsil, Buckner, Elliot, Jack, Conklin.
Predictions, wheeling and dealing! :-) Seahawks are being really quite, but they always manage to pick up some talent....
The Eagles should give all their picks for 17/18/19 and Sam Bradford with no compensation. This guy is most polished con artist since Jerry Cooney. ;-0
The Rock
I hate to see a kid like Wentz sentenced to a tenure with the Eagles.
The order was a bit off but 8 of the guys I had in the top 10 ended up on that list. Not bad.
For the next round I hope somehow Myles Jack falls to us but I'm good with Cody Whitehair, Hunter Henry, or any of the guys from Alabama on the defensive front 7. Also happy if they get a safety here.
Then again, now days you never know....
