If you read R. Emmett Tyrell's book, 'Boy Clinton,' which came out in the early years of the Clinton presidency, you'll get a tremendous insight into why Bubba is who he is, based on the many not-so-pleasant things he experienced as a child and adolescent. He was rejected and shat on by his father and other adults and it created an incessant need in him to be loved and admired as a result.
It almost made me feel sorry for him.
