Now I hear that the Wall Street Journal reported today that the Obama administration paid Iran $400,000,000.00 to release the four hostages they held...and did so in foreign currency no less to avoid detection by the American people. Now we are paying for hostages, a supreme law which should never be broken?

If this is true its time to march on Pa. Ave.

I heard about it on the regular news it wasnt an electronic money transfer, it was alot of large skids stacked with paper money of differnent foreign currencies loaded by marines on a transport plane. BC: Yes, thinking 84 public. I plan on hitting the ground next week and walking parts of it (while checking out Royal Gorge, hiking with my wife and kids).

HA/KS: There's absolutely nothing wrong with being Conservative or Republican who opposes Trump-in fact, I would argue that shows a person is Conservative. As you can imagine I hang out with many Republicans. The issue is many democrats are more conservative than so called "Republicans" or people going around calling themselves "Conservative." I like consistency in a man. Conservative, Liberal fine. But this new thing of people calling themselves Republicans and believing in bad mouthing the country, bad mouthing soldiers, considering a 3 time married Manhattan guy who bragged about sleeping with married women moral, etc. etc. is very confusing to many people, including me. That's what I like about the Republican platform: God, Family, Country. All great things. But although I hear the Rep nominee occasionally reference those things, I don't see actions backing it. I would have likely voted for a couple of the original Republican nominees (I won't mention names) had someone I consider "Conservative" come out of that pack. I don't like Hillary. But to address your comment, I think you are being a Conservative if you oppose Trump; illustrating principles of a Conservative and what the Republican party is supposed to stand for. That's just my opinion of course.

I swear to you I was thinking that this very day. How much can the people take with a shrug of the shoulders.

How can we sleep being used as fools by the entire system who exploit our own children and grandchildren.

What the hell have we become? A spineless cowardice people who will only fight to defend against that very accusation I just penned.

Where is the breaking point that lesser people in lesser nations have risen to fight and condemn these events we live with. Sacrificing their very lives every day to die on their feet rather than live on their knees under a lying repressive government.

Something stinks. The deal with Iran was bad but it did include paying them $400 million of their money we held from the 70s. Good news is we get to pay 1.3 billion in interest payments as well.

The way they spun it back then and the way it was reported, I thought it was frozen Iranian assets sitting in limbo somewhere. I didn't realize it would be coming out of my paycheck. Regardless, the deal was bad.

So we deliver it in foreign cash because we can't legally send them dollars (um yeah, theres a good reason for it to be illegal). The night the hostages are released, they are held at an airport and only released as soon as it's confirmed that another plane lands....

So, aside from the fact that we shouldn't give them a cent, we fly in $400,000,000.00 mixed foreign currency on pallets? Seriously? There has to be some other method like we just wire the money to some other country that deals with Iran and have them wire it to Iran. Most of what is happening stinks, this one is putrid.

According to a hostage, the the plane's chocks were not pulled until the money arrived. That is a major accretion to the argument that this was, indeed, a ransom. In other words, anyone possessed of a functioning brain should be smelling a big, fat commie rat about now.

Two Professors at the American University of Afghanistan Abducted

The Daily News is reporting that:

Kidnappers in Afghanistan have abducted two professors, one American and one Australian, according to reports.

The two professors at the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul were taken at gunpoint on Sunday, police chief Abdel Rahman Rahimi told ABC News.

The two were abducted by men disguised in National Security forces uniforms at about 8:30 p.m., local time, Voice of America News reported.

The State Department was aware of the reported kidnapping, but declined to comment.
