I can't imagine anyone being that stupid being a cop. He should stay away from revolvers also, no safety.
Im suing Estwing for all the times I hit my thumb with a 24 oz wafflehead!
once! a long time ago, but the memories...oi vey
they shooda tolllld me!!
Itshot, you are giving me ideas. I used an Estwing hammer to nail on roof shingles. Back in the day when you drove galvanized nails by hand. My left thumb still remembers. Also putting on roofs with tongue and groove sheathing and 8 penny nails by the thousands. No plywood or air nailers back then. Used the waffle heads for drywall too.
Nothing drives a 16d coated sinker like a 16 oz Plumb with a wooden handle. That's a fact!
The guy should lose and pay Glock's fees for this one.
Sundowner, I had a Plumb 16 oz hammer with a wooden handle. The handle was a maroon color, you brought back memories.
Yep Shuteye, they were great.
Once I heard an hold carpenter say, "Yeah that's the best hammer I've ever had. Replaced the head once, and the handle twice!"
A 24 ounce Framiing hammer will smoke a short handled 16 ounce Plumb hammer any day of the week when framing. I own multiples of both Plumb and Easwing. I've drove more than my fair share too. As far as roofing, you hold the nail between your fingers. Not with the pointer and thumb. Lay your fingers flat against what you are nailing. No smashed fingers. You'll hit your fingers from time to time but, it don't hurt near as bad like that. Plus, it's a lot quicker. In the day, my brother and I were good for about 10 square a day. My dad and uncles were 15 square a day. Of course, we were the carriers so, we'll never know if they truly were faster. :^)
This lawsuit is an example of what plaques mankind. Truly a free rider looking to get told it's ok to be a piece of crap. God Bless men
Maybe some here aren't familiar with the Glock negligent discharge reputation. There are supposedly more ND's with Glock than any other weapon.....but not for this reason. The ONLY way that weapon can fire is for the trigger to be pulled. It does not need an external safety. You should expect that the weapon WILL fire if you pull the trigger and you should be adequately prepared.
The most common reason for an ND with a glock is that is requires you to pull the trigger to field strip the weapon. Apparently a ton of people do not check to insure they do not have a round in the chamber before disassembly.
My Beretta Nano is like a baby Glock. You have to pull the trigger for it to fire. No safety and nothing protruding from it, excellent concealed carry pistol.
A great dose of common sense and firearm brand specific training will alleviate such negligent discharge. I've been carrying and handling my Colt Combat Commander locked and loaded with the hammer cocked for nearly 50 years. Know what your trigger finger is doing at all times.
I do not understand the people who do not carry in condition one.
My dad swung a 24oz framing hammer for years. Even though its been years since he did carpentry work regularly, his right wrist is still considerable bigger than his left!!
My dad was a two swing roofing guy. One tap, one hit and the nail was in. I've seen him drive 16's in 4. One tap and 3 hits and it was sunk in. He used to amaze me with the power he had driving nails. In turn though, I've seen him set in his chair watching TV with a drill bit or his pocket knife drilling a hole in his thumb nail to relieve the pressure under the nail!!! A 24oz is very unforgiving to your thumb!
I call my Estwing my "22 oz finish nailer" Set the nail and finish it in 2 strokes. Left the side of my thumb on more than a few roofs!
