Can anyone tell me about bluetooth. I guess I have it on my Windows 7 computer. I would like to get a set of bluetooth headphones so I can listen to stuff on the computer and not bother other people. I found a bluetooth USB host on this computer. Will that allow me to do this?
If your computer has a bluetooth radio, it will work with BT headphones, speakers, external keyboards, etc. Click on Windows device manager (you are running Windows?) and you should see the bluetooth icon to make sure.
When traveling, I have taken to using a BT keyboard with my tablet and phone.
It does have bluetooth radio, 2 of them. Microsoft and Dell.
You're good to go.
Connection is pretty much automatic.
Damn... i thought this was about cavities... Bluetooth... Get it? Anony is correct, pretty simple once you figure it out!
God Bless!
Scar.
My new hearing aids are Bluetooth enabled....it is beyond cool. The right ear unit communicates with the left ear unit and give me a real sense of space and location that have not had in a hearing aid before.
In addition, it's all controlled by my I-phone and all my calls and anything I want to stream goes right into my ears. I can hear what's coming from my phone on a completely separate channel from what I am hearing from the environment and I can control the volume of both with the push of a button. The stuff I can do with picking up remote sounds using my phone as a remote microphone is amazing.
It is beyond cool....almost makes being deaf worthwhile.
They must have improved it quite a bit then. My brother in law got blue tooth for his phone about 3 or 4 years ago, and when he'd call me I had to tell him to either turn it off or call me back from a landline because I could flat not understand him. It sounded like he was in a closet with his head in a bucket of water.
BT is just a radio. BT accessories can range from great to crap.
When traveling, I take a BT keyboard (really cheap one) with my tablet. Works well for typing on tablet or phone...much easier than my fat fingers on either device's native keyboards.
My phone connects automatically to my car for hands free use while driving. Uses car's speakers.
Caller ID...ignore MILs and josh ;o)
