“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” a family representative said in a statement. “A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”
Paxton, born in Forth Worth, Texas, had a long and accomplished career in television and film. Memorable films include “Titanic,” “Aliens,” “The Terminator,” “Tombstone,” “Apollo 13” and “Twister.”
How can they forget his role in Weird Science!? He played the asshole older brother perfectly.
May he rest in peace.
What's really funny about what I just wrote is that I'm considered to be by most all who know me to be the biggest Luddite they know!
I get out. But I have ZERO interest in paying to watch a movie where my values get shat on, everything I believe is either laughed at or impugned, and where the actors are mostly a bunch of a-holes who think they're really special people because they have a talent for pretending to be someone they are not and for speaking words someone else wrote.
No thank you!
Bill Paxton, the actor behind iconic roles in Aliens, Titanic, and Apollo 13, has passed away at 61 years old.
According to TMZ, who first reported the loss (later confirmed by People Magazine), Paxton died after complications from surgery. The 61-year-old actor had a string of hits with films like Aliens and Twister, and was more recently seen on Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He has a role in the upcoming Emma Watson and Tom Hanks Silicon Valley thriller, The Circle.
Paxton is also one of only two actors to have been killed onscreen by an Alien, a Predator, and a Terminator, an honor he shares with Lance Henriksen. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
“Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable,” Paxton’s family told TMZ.
Because of his role in "Twister", storm chasers have organized a tribute to him:

Neat article.
Each dot is one person's GPS.
There have been several productions of the story around the OK Corral incident, but the performances by MANY of the actors in the Tombstone versions are so outstanding that I don't think another version can ever be made to top it. Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer (hands down the BEST portrayal of Doc Holliday that I've ever seen), Powers Booth, and Michael Biehn especially.
Tombstone is hands down the greatest Wyatt Earp mover ever made.
That said... at the other end I guess you could say he played a real good a-hole in Aliens.....
Tombstone greatest western ever.
Who could forget BP's portrayal of the ever sensitive and caring big brother in Weird Science?
