Trump said China is a currency manipulator. Trump said China is no longer a currency manipulator.
Trump said we should not attack Syria. Trump attacked Syria.
Trump said Janet Yellen should be ashamed of herself. Trump said he likes Janet Yellen.
Trump doesn't like the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Trump likes the U.S. Export-Import Bank.
Trump enacted a federal hiring freeze. Trump lifted the federal hiring freeze.
Trump spoke of improving relations with Russia. Trump said relations with Russia are at an all-time low.
Hmmm... we Americans need to pay close attention when President Trump makes his initial comments on a given topic, as it may strongly indicate the exact opposite is what will take place.
Uh oh... Trump just told the world that they would soon have nothing to fear as soon as he fixed all the problems.
But Jimbo's memory is short.......or he's being dishonest.
Two, he is not very smart (or at a minimum tends to DRASTICALLY oversimplify everything). Now that he is peeling back the onion, he recognizes that the world is a far more complicated place than he can comprehend. I think he's had no choice but to flip on a number of issues now that he has a better sense of the reality.
I for one am thrilled to see the man fall-in line to a degree. It also confirms my thoughts that the man was feeding everyone a load of BS during the run-up to the election.
Agreed. I think Yrump is having to backpedal on a lot of stuff he was talking about. I don't blame him for changing his mind in light of new information, but maybe he shouldn't have been shooting from the hip in the first place.
Look at his poll numbers. He hasn't engendered confidence among the American people. He consistently demonstrates that he's shallow, emotional and reactionary... not good traits for the leader of the free world.
Those claims about his IQ have been largely debunked as fake news. A simple google search will show that. Nobody has his grades or SAT scores. The closest thing we have is his graduation program which shows he graduated with no type of honors, meaning he wasn't at or near the top of his class. Just listen to him talk and the amount of monosyllabic words he uses and you'll realize we aren't dealing with an intellectual. He's smart in the same way the Kardashians are smart.
I feel like he's acted on things about as often as other President's do. Not surprising in any regime change. He's also missed the boat and failed to deliver on what I view as his biggest campaign promises.
Jimbo, I too am concerned with the frequency and blatancy of Trump's flip-flops, especially on some issues he fervently campaigned on. Even more alarming to me is the blind pass he's given by many of his supporters.
Matt
Are you assuming that since I dislike Trump, that means I liked Obama?
bigeasygator's Link
No tax reform. No health care reform. No travel bans. Still waiting on Mexico to pay for that wall. His foreign policy stances have been nothing but a gigantic flip flop. The Supreme court nominee was basically a given once he got elected. Beyond the EOs targeted at regulations, what exactly has he done?
Here's a link to your Trump IQ claims with plenty of names (I'm assuming Keith Simonton is the name you're thinking of).
And just do a quick google search and you can quickly see that Trump is basically on the same pace as Obama when it comes to EOs. So, by that order, I guess Obama is a successful President for doing what he said he was going to do?
"Dear, the dog crapped on the carpet again"
"So, you think a tom cat marking all over the house and having to change the litter box all the time is better?"
"Umm no, I have never wanted a cat and really never thought they were great pets. Just letting you know the dog crapped again"
"Stupid cat lover!!!"
"What? That makes no sense?"
"CAT LOVER, CAT LOVER, CAT LOVER!!"
How about giving Trump 8 months. That's still 92% LESS time than Obama had.
That was some seriously funny chit, thanks for the laugh!
Great analogy, you cat hater. ;-)

He's got about 2 weeks left. By my tally, he better get busy.
Matt
Trax, still waiting on that IQ analysis for Trump...
Trump's only been in office 3 months. What type of legislation? Obama got the gay and lesbian, transgender policies in action. I don't consider those major legislation for 8 yrs of office.
It is really no surprise that he's flipped on so many issues. He has no choice to when confronted with reality. All of a sudden healthcare is hard. North Korea is complicated. All he had to do was listen to anybody with a brain ahead of spouting off like he had ALL the answers.
The list goes on and on. He said he could defeat ISIS in 30 days. Mexico was going to pay for the wall (they're not). We should be friendly with Russia. We're going to reduce the debt. We're getting out of NAFTA. NATO is obsolete. We're going to spend a trillion on infrastructure. Tax reform by August.
Again, everything was going to be easy and he had all the answers. He or his staff has now backtracked or completely flipped on all of these issues. I don't think this has happened because he's grown at all. I think he's the most narcissistic person I've ever seen so I think to a certain degree he really thinks he's the best at everything. I also think he likes to view himself as a dealmaker. From that perspective, he views everything as a negotiation, including his ideologies. You're starting to see that all over the place, be it economic policy, foreign policy, tax reform, healthcare...you name it. Forget consistency or principles. It's all a negotiation to him. In most of these cases I'm glad he takes that approach, because I feel it's moving us back from the edge. That said, it's clear that his lines during the campaign are proving to be a bunch of BS, which most of us could see right away.
Two weeks left, Donald.
Matt
I don't think they are "flips" in any policy or position..... I think they are mostly corrections from having popped off about something he really is clueless about and "I don't know" or "I'm not sure" or a simple "I'll have to check into that" is not in his vocabulary.
WRT "learning" the job, the office....... I think that is what he has to learn the most. If it's going to be like this the whole way..... it's going to be a big mess.... fan boys might even get tired of defending it all the time.....
EDIT added...... Glunt... LOL! Nailed it again.....
You apparently have not looked in a mirror lately.
Does your wife get just a little bit jealous at what a whale of a man-crush you have on Trump?
The simplest and most likely explanation is simply that he was telling people what he thought they wanted to hear during the campaign, regardless of his personal views about it or plans for it if he won the election.
Exactly.
I've never understood why the Trumpists think these Trump/Obama/Hillary moral equivalency arguments actually bolster their case for Trump. They actually do just the opposite. Why would you think essentially saying Trump is no worse than someone you call "OBOZO" or "THE WITCH FROM HELL" is actually a winning argument???
Matt
Diner says: "It's a little over-cooked."
Waitress says: "At least it tastes better than dog crap, right?"
Diner says: "But I ordered a rare steak, not dog crap."
Waitress says: "Then, you should be happy, DUMBASS!!"
Matt
- Trump has not banned radical Muslims, his EO has been shot down (for the second time) - The Russia connection during the election is still very much TBD - Trump has not done what he said he was going to do with regards to bringing back jobs. Personally, I think there's generally very little a President can do to combat market forces. - We still don't know about Trump's taxes
I'd put the line much closer to "Trump won't end TPP"
Grey Ghost, he spanked you twice, and stood you in the corner.
I made a little timeline of Trump's statements on China and currency manipulation, because what happened yesterday is just amazing. pic.twitter.com/LJ0piX9ERQ

Thanks for keeping us all informed Mr. Credibility.
Obama, by contrast, spent just under $97 million on travel in his eight years as president, according to documents reviewed by Judicial Watch, a conservative government watchdog. These trips included personal trips - including ski trips to Aspen and the Obama's annual family vacation in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts -- and work trips, like a visit to Everglades National Park on Earth Day in 2015.
Trump's frequent weekend travel makes it all but certain the 45th President will surpass Obama's spending in his first term, likely within months.
huuuge difference, obowmas used the position as a free travel agency, trump is carrying on as normal but higher costs are incurred due to security
costs aside, trump will likely "travel" far less than the south-side whoop whoops did and his tastes wont suddenly become more opulent....
and based on those that "report" this so-called news the figures were and will be skewed all to hell
Trump hit Obama like crazy during the campaign for all the time Obama spent golfing. See video below. All of Trump's statements come with an expiration date.
Trump has now visited one of his golf clubs on 20% of his days as president so far (17 golf course trips in 84 days)

Why does Obama believe he shouldn't comply with record releases that his predecessors did of their own volition? Hiding something?
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 30, 2012
But people who were grinding teeth and posting sweet nothings about Obama's lack of transparency on half a dozen issues need to take a real long look in the mirror........ Their standards are totally nonexistent......
