A guy looked at my Corvette the other day and said, 'I wonder how many people could have been fed for the money that sports car cost?'
I replied, "I am not sure, it fed a lot of families in Bowling Green, Kentucky who built it, it fed the people who make the tires, it fed the people who made the components that went into it, it fed the people in the copper mine who mined the copper for the wires, it fed people in Decatur IL. at Caterpillar who make the trucks that haul the copper ore. It fed the trucking people who hauled it from the plant to the dealer and fed the people working at the dealership and their families. BUT,... I have to admit, I guess I really don't know how many people it fed."
That is the difference between capitalism and welfare mentality. When you buy something, you put money in people's pockets, and give them dignity for their skills. When you give someone something for nothing, you rob them of their dignity and self worth.
Capitalism is freely giving your money in exchange for something of value.
Socialism is taking your money against your will and shoving something down your throat that you never asked for.
I've decided I can't be politically correct anymore. (I never was, actually)"
Maybe our resident bowlibs will learn something..........nah!!
Liberalism is their religion. Facts are irrelevant to them.
They don't care about facts, nor results. They only care about claiming they 'care.'
The damage their policies do to the very people they claim they want to help is irrelevant to them. They either don't care or are too cosumed with the need to feel good about themselves to notice.
Not Germany. Tuscaloosa!
Thanks to Mr. Nicholson, I now have the perfect answer.
This is my third MBZ. I bought the first one in 1986 and put 220,000 miles on it. I bought the second one in 1997 and put 235,000 on it.
Those were both diesels, whereas the new one is not. So far I've taken two trips with it. I averaged 33.5 mpg on the first trip (~1,100 miles) and a bit over 34 mpg on the 2nd trip (~ 260 miles).
And as was noted earlier, a whole lot of hard working people earned a living because I bought one.
What have you done for the hard working men and women in America, azzhole?
How many people have YOU fed?
So there you go again, azzhole.
Your last several posts are proof positive you know you have lost the argument. That's why you keep changing the subject.
For starters, I don't have a Corvette. Never said nor implied I did.
Must suck to be you!
They get off on being publically humiliated in front of people who are far smarter and more informed than they are.
Can't defend his position EVER!
So as a classic example of someone who knows he's lost the argument, he changes the subject, deflects, etc.
Nice ride Kyle!
