1. Until Kamala Harris from bat-sheet crazy left California was sworn in in January, there was only one African American US Senator - Tim Scott.
Scott, of course, is a Republican from South Carolina, the state that kicked off the Civil War and started the Confederacy. It's also one of the most conservative states in the country.
Scott was appointed to the Senate in 2013 when then Senator Jim DeMint resigned to run the Heritage Foundation. Scott then ran in a special election in 2014 to serve the balance of DeMint's term. Coincidentally, South Carolina's other Senator, Lindsey Graham, was up for re-election in 2014, meaning in the Deep South, a white guy and a black guy were on the ballot at the same time in the two Senate elections.
Graham, the white guy, won his election with 672,941 votes, or 55% of the total.
Scott, on the other hand, won his election with 757,215 votes, or 61% of the total.
That's right! In the Deep South and in one of the most conservative states in the country, the black guy got 84,274 more votes than did the long-time incumbent white guy!
Perhaps our idiot BowLibs can explain that one to us. After all, according to them, conservatives are all white supremacists, racists and bigots, right?
2. At the start of this year, there were FOUR minority Governors from the GOP and ZERO from the Dems. The four minority GOP Governors were Nikki Haley, Bobby Jindal, Brian Sandoval, and Susana Martinez. The minority Dem Governors were............NONE!
In January, Haley resigned as Governor when Trump nominated her to be Ambassador to the United Nations. That's correct, Our alleged sexist and misogynist President not only nominated a minority, but a minority who was also a woman! How sexist can you get?
3. Now, the Dems do have more black Members of Congress than does the GOP, but that's solely because of minority-majority Congressional districts.
Boy, that's sure served African-Americans well, hasn't it? After all, think of how well they've been served by the likes of Hank "Guam will tip over" Johnson, Sheila "I'm a queen" Jackson-Lee and Maxine "Insert Insane Quote Here" Watters.
These are inconvenient truths for our resident clueless, lefty morons for sure, but they are truths, never-the-less.
Did I leave anything out? lol
You totally and completely avoided the point of my post.
The thread is not about Scott himself, but the conservatives who overwhelmingly voted for him, basing their decisions on the 'Content of His Character,' not the 'Color of His Skin,' which is the exact opposite of what a-holes like you do. And which is something other liberals would never do either.
It's also about the willingness and eagerness of Conservatives across the nation to base their votes on precisely the same criteria. Which liberals clearly do not do.
You also make two claims that I'd bet the farm are lies about your approval of Scott and of your voting history.
BTW, South Carolina is included in every definition of 'the Deep South' you can find.
Your ignorance, hate and astonishing stupidity are evident in everything you say here.
Come on stupid, you're slipping
I enjoy calling out stupid, ignorant and woefully uniformed azzholes for what they are.
It's too much fun to avoid doing so.
perfect, carry on
Second, for the state which started the Civil War when it fired on Union troops and seceded from the Union not to be considered part of the Deep South is pure insanity.
Which fits you to perfection.
And yet again, you ignore the point of the thread.
What an azz!
