Guys stay away from the west side of the park near the golf area and the area before the south bridge on the left side. Park Ranger are setting hunters up for hunting over food. I was shot gun hunting one time and I herd a vehicle driving slow on a stone road near my hunting area. 10 minutes went by and a older female ranger approched me and stated that I could not hunt in the area becuase bait was in the area and I said to her I did not know that. I said to her where is it and what type of bait is it? She could not tell me. It's funny that she came so quickly to the area like she know exactly where the bait was. I seems like a set up and smells fishy. If she knew the location of the bait why did she let it in the area and not clean it up. She did not give me a ticket or anything just told me that I could not hunt in the area. It would be a impossible thing to prove that the park rangers are setting up hunters in the area for some reason so guy just a FYI.
I will stay away from the west side if you stay away from my treestand on the east side. Deal!
Is this in Pennsylvania ?? When does shotgun hunting start there ??? This was not this year,, right ???
This area is about 30 miles north of me. Pa baiting rule are arcane. You cannot hunt within. 300 yds of a baited area. Not know the area is baited is no excuse.
PAGC does not necessarily post baited areas. Seems only after they get their perp is the area posted.
A big problem is your neighbor can bait an area that you have no knowledge of and on his property and it could very well box you out of a section of your hunt area and exposed you to a possible fine..
While I stand behind law enforcement and most WCOs know what is going on. I find some deputies are a bit overzealous and really nit pick the law beyond intent and spirit of same.
Best to just stay away.
Is it even gun season there ? If this happened last year why would you stay away from there now ?
Occasionally, I hunt and fish in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest out here in Washington State. So I must be close to that spot...
I usually hunt the west side to the right of the Ape Caves, but to the left of Lava Butte when the bulls are buglin'.
You know where that tree stump is that's next to the old logging camp railroad track bed? Yeah, right to the left of that....
Then I fish the east side, to the right of the upper Klickitat swimming hole, but just a little to the left of the lower falls, depending on the season and where the water level is at.
I'll tell ya what... If I run into any lady park rangers, I'll try to take some pic's and post them here....especially if I can get her to model her bikini for me. That is, if she doesn't kick my butt first.
I have hunted the Blackwater park in Maryland. No baiting allowed but the Sika deer I killed were stuffed with corn when I field dressed them. I guess they could have gone out of the park at night.
