Aaron Hernandez had CTE

stage III at age 27.....and that is a huge problem for the NFL and football at all levels.
Don't care. He was a thug from day one. Just another way to attack masculinity Still glad I played. Better than soccer. We all knew what we were signing up for. The blame everyone else society continues. Mad Dog
250 kids 10 years ago for the pre high school team in my area....my son was one of them. They cancelled the program this year because 11 kids showed up.
Stuff like this is only a problem when you're stuck in a society built around suing people for whatever comes along.
Either shut up and play football, or get the heck off the team and do something else.
As far as Aaron Hernandez goes, he was very physical when he was a little 8-year old kid, both in sports and off the field, and never let up. Besides, who knows how many times he was tossed around and hit in the head in a fight?
Lawsuits will make it impossible for schools to get insurance for football.
I see it too in my town. Thriving Pop Warner Leauge 4 yrs ago...now barely hanging on. A lot of hysteria. Most of those kids will never even play 4 yrs of H.S. let alone College. Forget the pros...I agree solo. MD
I see lots more boys playing baseball these days. Many have a better chance for scholarships in smaller universities and Ju Co’s where the teams are exploding in size and talent.
Well based on what the NFL has deteriorated to, I say good riddance. I'd rather go hunting anyway than watch a bunch of drugged up hood rats act like they're important.
Take a knee? Hell, just take a HIKE.......a LONG one.
I have to wonder how many who never played football could be diagnosed (autopsied?) with that. I've been knocked out a couple or three times outside football.
Maybe we should regulate life........ be much easier to do away with any and all accidents.....
Rock climbing, airplane racing, skydiving, sheep/mountain goat hunting...... maybe they should all be made illegal because a high risk of being killed in an accident..... or maybe let those who want to, pursue it and the cards fall where they may......
And don't forget rodeo...............
We used to say that bronc rider was a roper with half his brains kicked out, and a bull rider was a bronc rider with the rest of them kicked out!
A lot more dangerous than any of the sports is catching those crabs way up North. Logging is very dangerous also.
Right on guys. The first time I was knocked out, I was about 10. Made a sick ramp, flew down the sidewalk on my Huffy Thunder Road bike, pals cheering me on, and flew about 15 feet, bounced off the seat and did an Evil Knievel roll. Next thing I know I'm on queer street stumbling toward home. Mom wasn't angry: "Alright Matty, wear your football helmet and equipment next time! Got knocked out another time playing "touch" football in H.S. This is what aspiring tough guys do! Ha ha. We all make choices, but it should be OUR choice. Nah..."Choice" only applies when a woman wants to kill the Innocent living inside her. The society & Culture is assbackwards. Mad Dog
20 years later we are going to find out all these testings and autopsy's were rigged to skew the numbers to get the desired results - just like the climate change stuff. How many times now have we seen where the "evidence/testing" were skewed to get the desired results.
Hernandez family is suing the NFL - hopefully the NFL has their own independent folks do the same testing on his brain, won't be surprised if they come up with differing results.
You bet. They'll no doubt make a computer model to prove their point. And as we all know, computers are ALWAYS accurate and never wrong. Just ask Algore.
Ha ha....amen WE. Mad Dog
Actually I am betting with his personality that he got into a few bare knuckle brawls starting in grade school. The CTE could have been there prior to him ever playing ball.

A "snowflake" may never know a concussion in their lifetime..... many in fact don't even drive a car..... yet many still exhibit symptoms of being, um, dropped on their heads as infants.... (obviously a new phrase, no one ever thought of brain injury before I guess....)
A person more active and "physical" in their lives may have had accidents that rang their bell. I know 2 of mine were playing baseball, which I sucked at (neither involved being hit with said baseball) but none (I recall...) playing high school football as the smallest middle linebacker in the league. Thinking back, one was a motorcycle accident and another was an "industrial" accident involving mounting a clay bird thrower to a plywood frame.... real stupid mistake, but those arms will knock the hell out of you.... thought my Mom was going to die when I came to and stumbled into the house looking like a victim in a slasher movie..... Interestingly.... a very bad car accident that put me though a windshield and onto the hood did not knock me out. Go figure. Nearly kilt me but not knocked out.
Life has risks. I know several carpenters that have fallen off of buildings to very serious injury..... I see few people wanting to halt construction of buildings....... OK, a couple of the leftist trolls on here of late.... but nobody really to be taken seriously.....
