We get a lot of sunrises like this from November through March. I took these two this morning.
Here's the same sun coming up in Mackinaw City Michigan last month.....
Only sideways........ ha !!
I thought BigBear's photo was probably California, since the sun was coming up "from the left...."
Ha !!!! Good one !! It's looking east from Mackinaw City ...... That's Lake Huron....
A few more from my back patio. The first one is a sunset I took from the front yard.
Great shots, Kyle!
These pics were at sunrise this morn in my backyard. ;-)
Matt
You guys are living the dream !!
Dandy buck you've got there, Matt!
Kyle,
The 3x3 is perhaps the fattest buck I've seen. The nice 4x4 has got everything but mass. I'm still waiting for a whooper to show up.
Matt
Rhody,
I'm about mid-state on the eastern slope. My area has become a tough draw in recent years, so I'm forced to hunt with my camera more than I care to, like this year. It's rewarding to get nice pics, but it just isn't the same.
Matt
Matt,
That three pointer is so fat he looks like he's pregnant.
Kyle,
Yeah, I'd like to know what that deer weighs. I'm guessing he may be over 3 bills. Trophy hunters often pass up the 3x3s around here, so they get to grow old and fat.
I was just remarked to my wife that all the deer around here look well fed this year.
Have you seen your backyard bucks recently?
Matt
Not my backyard... earlier this year in a customer's yard across from the Forest Preserve.
Matt,
I haven't seen any deer in the area since August, let alone in our yard.
In mid-August I was seeing deer in the development a lot, which has never been the case until this year. It obviously must have something to do with food sources along with all the rain and snow we got early in the year.
My yard but I ain't brave enough to try em. I have been watching deer in my garden all day. They come out right in the middle of the day. Three different ones have been eating my wheat cover crop so far today.
I had a red oak tree that I wanted to come down because it was too close to my house. A tree expert came and said he would take it down for $1800. I had a logger friend bring his skidder and he did it for nothing and sold the log for me. I told him not to hit the pine tree or the peach tree that was growing in the edge of the woods. He hooked the skidder to it and his chainsaw man put a chain and cable way up and they put the tree right between the pine and peach tree. They have done a lot of work for me and are excellent old timers. He said I owe him some turnips when they are big enough.
Not monster bucks, yet, but give them a few years. My wife had a fawn come right to within ten feet of her when she was in the garden. She didn't see the mother and got worried that it may not like her being so close to the fawn. She heard the doe call the fawn and it trotted into the woods. I love living in the country. That is my out of focus garbage can and my swinging gong target. there are two steel plates and I can swing them out to shoot. I paint them and put a black dot in the center. When they get shot up I just repaint with spray paint.
It was late in the afternoon....
