This e-mail to all employees of our school district.

Subject: Thank You To Our Incredible Veterans

Tomorrow, the United States will celebrate Veterans Day. We want to take this opportunity to thank all of this great nation’s veterans. Thank you to all of the veterans who have served this great nation who work at USD 489. Your service, dedication, and patriotism to this great nation are greatly appreciated. We are the land of the free because we are the home of the brave. Please take time to thank your building’s veterans today!

I would also like to salute the Dad's, Mom's, children, other family, and friends of Veterans.

.. ..

.. ..

Sometimes, I wonder, if they didn't suffer a harder life than we.

Tony

An active serviceman with tears on his face for a WWII veteran that he never knew.

This is one of my favorite photos ever.

Added: He was the father of a friend and lived to be 100.

My father and his grandsons May 2013.

.

My son is in the white shirt. His wife (a veteran who played taps) took the photo and he is responsible for the editing.

The man in uniform is now a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy.

From our daughter-in-law:

"It's an honor to have served in the military - thank you to everyone who said thank you! It really does mean a lot to hear that. Yesterday (Friday 11/10) at school I had a teacher bring her whole class down to my room and each student shook my hand and said thank you. I thought that was really neat. Thank you to all my fellow veterans out there!"
