I love it!

From the LA Times:

"Democratic patience with Sen. Al Franken evaporated Wednesday in the wake of a new accusation of sexual misconduct against him, and in an uprising led by women, more than half of the party's senators demanded he resign — a decision that could arrive as soon as Thursday.

The cascade of opposition opened when Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York said "it would be better for our country" if Franken left office. Within minutes, Sens. Kamala Harris of California, Patty Murray of Washington, Mazie Hirono of Hawaii, Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Claire McCaskill of Missouri released similar statements.

"Sexual harassment and misconduct should not be allowed by anyone and should not occur anywhere. I believe the best thing for Senator Franken to do is step down," Harris said."

CNN then wrote:

"Embattled Sen. Al Franken will make an announcement Thursday, his office told reporters, as calls for the Minnesota Democrat's resignation -- led by female senators and later including party leaders such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer -- rapidly gained momentum Wednesday. Thirty-two Democratic senators -- 13 female and 19 male -- called on Franken to resign as allegations of sexual harassment against him continue to mount. Republican Sen. Susan Collins also called on Franken to quit."

At least one news organization has said Smalley will announce his resignation tomorrow. Smalley is denying it, but given the outpouring of such demands from lib leaders in his own party, he really has no choice.

Having pictures with your "hand in the cookie jar" so to speak, is a little more damning evidence, than a Yearbook forged by Madeline Albright.

The desperate poo-slinging at the last minute in a crucial election has become quite expected on the Dem side, and the public is starting to see it for what it is. Along with the usual outpouring of funds from the DNC...they can't keep this "strategy" going, if they want to stay solvent. But, they keep losing...what a conundrum !

Kevin,

I agree 100% with your first sentence.

OTOH, the ONLY reason his own party is dumping on him is for 'damage control,' and nothing else.

The Dem leadership is basically telling us they realize their party is on life support, so they need to eat their own to survive.

Note the part about immediately after Sen. Gillibrand (She who would be President) called for Smalley to resign, the floodgates opened.

In other words, other than Gillibrand, not one of the rest of these Dems had the courage to call for Smalley's resignation until Gillibrand provided some cover for them.

Yes the whole country WOULD be better off if he wasn't around!!!

And yet the GOP has not pressed on of their own to resign. So this is a case of believe the dem accusers but GOP accusers are all false and making up stories. I'm certain the irony is lost on many of you, however.

Franken should resign. I personally will be glad knowing he is out of the public eye. He was creepy to watch on SNL. He's worse to see being a Senator.

Franken should resign, Moore should step down and trump should as well. The women accusers have enough credibility and should be believed. Trump swore to sue those that accused him and he hasn’t. Why? Because they’re telling the truth. Moore has vowed to sue his accusers for slander. He hasn’t. Why? He has no case. They’re telling the truth. I Credit Dem Senators with calling on Franken to step down. The GOP however keeps on keepin on w an accused pedophile endorsed by a serial sexual abuser. What a world huh?

Bullshit. Pure Bullshit. YOU should "step down". They're telling the truth??? Because you say so? YOU? Truth? LMAO!

We have a PICTURE of Franken doing what he's accused of. That's kind of a game changer.

The FACT that the DEM Leadership is calling on Smalley to resign says far more than anyone on the right could ever say.

From: Woods Walker

Bear in mind though that this is an easy call for the Dems because they know his replacement will be another leftist loon, so Stuart is expendable. If he weren't then they could have him on film raping a child and then cooking and eating the poor thing and they'd still blame it on Trump.

Don't forget these are DEMOCRATS we're talking about here. No honesty, no morals no conscience, only political power.

At least with Obama we got Trump as his replacement and not (GOD FORBID) Hillary, With Franken it's a wash. His replacement will be just as bad as him and maybe even worse.

But only until next November, Woods, then we Minnesotans get to elect a new Senator. What could possibly go wrong?!? In the mean time Governor Goofy will appoint some far left wingnut that we have to deal with.

Really Southfarm? Then I hope the scumbag doesn't quit today. Let him foul the nest even more with his presence to maybe make it easier for a Republican to get that seat.

Wood Walker, never happen with San Fransisco of the midwest (Minneapolis/St.Paul) area, the surrounding counties are liberals with Duluth. Want a personal experience bring your wife for a stroll wearing a fur coat down Nicollet Ave and of course Loren Park in the summer is a must stroll also in the summer, but would suggest CC in N. Minneapolis, one fine town.

Smalley is scheduled to make a speech on the Senate floor in a few minutes.

Resignation? Or will it be excuses and apologies?

Oh cmon guys...the Liberal mind doesn't think that way.

The "rules" don't matter to liberals...their cause is more important than any law or rules. The ways justify the means in their mind.

Re Franken; He knows how good he has it...he will never resign. They will have to drag him kicking and screaming like a spoiled child out of there. BTW, where is Eliz Warren on this? Oh yeah, the Liberal mind.

A left-wing writer for Media Matters came forward this morning claiming, in detail, how Franken groped her and 'copped a feel' at an Obama inauguration party.

Gonna guess that HOW you "resign" makes a difference on the LIFETIME benefits...... he probably wants to get some say in who the replacement may be as well.

I wish his carcus were left to swing in the wind a while longer, but it is what it is. It has some cosmetic benefit just not having his grinning smarmy azz in your grill every day..... but in reality his replacement will vote down the line just as he did. No net gain but for a short but satisfying pleasure......

Capitol Hill reporters posted reports on their observations of how Franken was treated by his colleagues on the Senate floor following his unrepentant resignation speech in which he denied the accusations by women over which he was resigning.

The reporters noted many of the women Democrat senators who just yesterday demanded Franken resign for being a serial sex assaulter of women were crying and giving ‘big hugs’ to Franken after his speech. Named in the reports are Amy Klobuchar (MN), Claire McCaskill (MO), Tammy Duckworth (IL) and Maggie Hassan (NH).
