Or more accurately, a 'step-grandpa?'
My wife's daughter went into labor about an hour ago and off my wife went to the Bay Area.
Karen had her due date as tomorrow, so everything's pretty much on schedule.
Congrats !!!! My step daughter got married last year and I'm sure I won't be far behind you...
Great. I'm sure Joanne will be a fantastic grandmother.....
Kevin,
No doubt. She's planning to stay with her daughter for 2-3 weeks after the baby is born, just because.
That's a lady who put her full attention into raising the kids until they were all done with college. The maternal instinct runs strong in her. She'll be having a lot of fun soon.
It's awesome Kyle. Got my first two 4 months apart a little over a year ago. Fun times ahead!
That’s great news. They are fun. I have 15 of the critters b
Congratulation to the parents AND Grandparents.
Congrats Kyle! You will find that if you'd of known grand kids were that much fun you'd of had them first!
Grandkids are great. Congratulations.
Good grief, I am a great grandfather four times. Three boys and a girl. Grandkids are fun for sure. BTW when I wanted to buy a Gator, I got a great deal because my grandson is manager at a John Deer facility. He has a concealed carry permit so he turned out well. He is the daddy of two of my great grandchildren and his brother is the father of the other two. His kids can ride small motorcycles and fourwheelers, just like great grandpaw.
Congratulations! Grandpa is a great title.
Congrats and prayers for a healthy arrival!
Karen is the youngest of Joanne's two kids.
She's one of those young ladies who is just bursting with energy and smiles.
She has a degree in finance and was hired two years ago as the Controller for a construction company in Petaluma. Last year they gave her an unbeleivable raise because she'd saved them so much money. Even then, they were worried giving her 'only' a 50% raise wasn't enough, given all she'd done for them.
God Bless you, Karen, and I look forward to hearing of a safe and successful delivery of my first step-grandson, Max William Muhlethaler!
Kyle,
Health and Happiness to the newborn and your family. You are now placed into becoming worthy of a being called a grandfather, no "step" is involved. As a mother, a title you must earn. God Bless them,

Kyle,
Congrats!! My granddaughter turned one last month and she's such a joy and blessing. And prayers for a safe delivery.
I remember Karen, nice lady. You'll like grandpa duty. Get to teach the kid all sorts of cool stuff.
You bet! I don't have a grandchild yet but I did teach my nephew when he was little how to blow snot rockets........my sister-in-law wanted to shoot me!
I have a pic of my grandson at 3 with his first fish. It was wider than he was. And his grin was just as big.
Kyle... You say you run a lot?? NOW you'll get some REAL exercise!!...more fun tho!
Congrats man!!
Congrats, my friend.
Post some pics, here, when you can.

Got a text from my bride over-night. False alarm!
The contractions stopped, so Max isn't here yet.
Hope everything is smooth and mundane when the delivery occurs. Congrats a little early. Enjoy the little beastie!
That sounds like my daughter's arrival. My wife went into labor early on a Friday night. At 2:00 AM they sent us home because the contractions stopped. Saturday night things started up again so we went back. Finally at 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon they decided to do a C-section. I've had some wild weekends before but NOTHING like that!!!!
She was worth it though!
Finally, Max decided to join the world!
11:30 last night. Just under 7 llbs.
WONDERFUL! Congrats Grandpa!!!
Awesome!! Congrats, Kyle.
Great news. Congrats to all.
In looking at the photo and seeing how innocent and defenseless this young man is, the very idea that someone could kill a child in the womb makes me ill!
Congrats !!! Handsome baby !!!!!
Kyle, Health and Happiness to that beautiful angel. The ultimate miracle.

Congratulations. Yes, it is impossible to understand the evil that would justify killing a baby. Our nation will face a harsh punishment.
My wife just called to tell me Karen and the baby are home now, but get this:
They gave her a routine blood test after the baby was born, then called Family Services because she tested positive for some drugs and they thought she was a druggie.
PROBLEM: She only tested positive because the hospital had given her pain medications and then forgot to write it down! Once they discovered their error, they apologized profusely many times. Given Karen already has an anxiety problem, this must have been very traumatic for her, thinking the county was going to take away her baby.
Wow. Talk about a screw-up!
