Using kids?!? Because smart, articulate teens are tired of being killed and seeing there friends killed?!? Holy Crap you guys have reached a new low. David Hogg is indeed a student at Parkland. His father does indeed work for the FBi. The California interview? it was an incident where his friend was accosted by a lifeguard. Also he’s like an AV club kid who does the school news or something, hence the pictures touring CNN and sitting behind desks.

But the paranoid RIGHT WING see Boogeymen and conspiracies everywhere behind the face of a child ,every dead person, every political discourse.Nothing can be what it is it MUST be a conspiracy of everyone against the Right Wing if not then the Right might actually be wrong. And we can’t have that!

So one of the survivors of Columbine, Patrick Neville is now a legislative leader in CO. He is pushing legislation that is probably a good compromise. He is being shouted down by the likes of these people as if he has no experience in the issue. Typical knee jerk reactions, argue, fuss, then really do nothing to fix the situation. Reminder 2nd Amendment is not a right given to us by govt. it is a reaffirmation of a God given right and one we have given ourselves. The right to defend one's self-period.

It's not the kids fault but it is sad they use the kids to further their agenda.

I wonder if anyone has told these kids how many gun laws we already have on the books? I'm still waiting to hear what potential law would prevent gun violence. I know the answer...none, because the criminals don't abide by the law. Some of the guns used were bought legally but the majority were not.

If we use the leftist ideology then we should be pushing to ban vehicles because some people drive drunk or wreckless and kill other people with their vehicle.

Some folks just don't use common sense.

Imagine the US with no private gun ownership. Just the police, military, and of course, those in power. Total utopia, just like North Korea or Poland where my family came from. The Germans came in and sent them to Auchwitz. Sorry, I don't trust government or some glib talking kid whose been coached by others. Hitler was very convincing too. I don't own an AR, but I am keeping the guns I have. We have armed guards in banks, but not schools? That shows where the true values are in this country. You don't need guns to cause mayhem. I recently blew a beaver dam on my property to smithereens using stuff I bought at Tractor Supply. I took a demolitions class in the service. The only way to stop a killer is taking threats seriously and death. Thankfully, the school I work in is armed with people trained, locked, and loaded.

School shooters break the law in the first place by bringing a firearm onto school grounds.

Changing the legal age to buy one will do nothing. A comprehensive background check will do nothing.

What has changed? When I was in high school, there were as many guns available then as there are today, yet a school shooting was never even a thought.

There are around 700-800 thousand abortions each year. Innocent children murdered. Why are the leftist ignoring this atrocity? Any taking of innocent life is terrible but the idea that some gun law will prevent crimes is really stupid. How about we enforce the laws we already have? Also, when we have a clear cut case of guilt, within 30 days pull the lever or inject the solution...people do more time for tax evasion than for murder in a lot of cases.

My daughter experiences a threat every other week at her school from some dumbass jackwagon punk that thinks it's funny.

Change the behavior, change the mechanism and it will either correct itself or be greatly reduced to very isolated incidents.

TG, since you’re the only one having an intelligent and respectful dialogue, I’ll continue. No law will prevent every crime 100% of the time. But will laws reduce the chances? Absolutely. Look how many traffic laws there are. But people still drink and drive and speed, etc. every rational statistic shows that reducing the number of guns truces the chances of one falling into the wrong hands. That’s my only point. And thanks for the civil tone. It’s appreciated.

atheist. Let's see the statistic's that shows that reducing the number of guns lowers the chances of, EVEN ONE GUN, falling into the wrong hands. Especially the easy access to get, guns, from gangs, on the streets. How are you going to reduce the number of guns, available on the streets, by gangs?? You still haven't shown us one law, that would lower gun deaths. So, pretty much means you are an idiot, and a puppet for the dems.

I can tell you it's 80 to 90 % there bouts.

So if that's the case, how can the guns used in crimes in the cities you mentioned be used by law abiding citizens? Because the FBI statistics say most are stolen or bought illegally...so your case holds no water unless you mean the criminals are stealing them from law abiding citizens from neighboring areas that have the right to have them and commiting the crimes?

If so, what does that tell you?

Did you know you can pull the plug from a shotgun and do a lot of damage in a crowd within seconds..so the whole thing boils back down to the fact that criminals dont care what the law says and they will do what they have to do to commit their crimes.

I have an idea, how about enforcing the 100s of gun laws we already have on the books and executing those that take a human life.

From: elkmtngear

From your own study, dips**t :

"Surveys of offenders have found that they prefer newer, high-quality guns and may steal or borrow them; most, however, acquire guns “off the street” through the illicit gun market".

From: TGbow
21-Feb-18
Atheist, you just proved my point with your last statement...the laws are there for those that speed, drive reckless, ect...or those that set illegal fires.

Individuals that commit those acts are breaking the law and endangering others. Do we take away vehicles or pass more regulations to make it harder to but a vehicle?

You don't seem to grasp it's not the object that is the problem it's the individual behind the object. How many people choose to get drunk and drive? Should we outlaw alcohol? What about matches or flammables? Laws against theft are there for the theives that steal...not law abiding citizens.

We had two threats in our area yesterday from kids being copycats. They were arrested at school. This kid is becoming a hero and one to be pitied as the gun becomes the demon. As a bowhunter I could live with no guns under one condition, no guns for any cop, military, government official, no one. I don't trust government. Obviously, that will never happen because those in power will keep their guns. I read where 70% of this country is on some kind of drug, prescription or otherwise. This is a society problem and as long as we blame it on everything else, we will see these killings continue regardless of how many guns we take from law-abiding citizens. There is one politician who wants to lower the voting age to 16. It should be raised to 60. After you have raised kids, worked for a living, experienced success , hardship, and just plain life, you might be capable of making a rational decision. I coach both boys and girls high school runners. I deal with drama every season. Even at 18, they are kids. I have former athletes and students that are now in their 50's and 60's who used to be rebellious. Life took care of that.
