OK, That should have read:
Ridicuolously Sounding Samwiches!
1. Peanut Butter and Pickles.
Use either Sweet pickles or Dill pickles! You'll love it!
2. Sharp cheddar cheese with Orange Marmalade.
Yes, Really!
The sharp, tangy cheese together with the marmalade make for a terrific combination!
Been a fan of peanut butter and pickle sandwiches for 40 years.
Absolutely outstanding.
Peanut butter and bacon for me
I have been eating toast with jelly/jam/preserves and cheese since my college days. Had it for breakfast today.
Another from my college days. Pregame meal: Bananas, raisins, peanut butter and table syrup on whole wheat bread. Carb overload. Don't think I could eat that now, perhaps after a day of elk hunting
Some of you may want to consider taking an at-home pregnancy test.
Lol Owl! They do sound awful. Yuck
"Peanut butter and bacon for me"
I ate those on a mountain goat hunt in the Uinta's several years ago. We used bagels.
They were excellent and full of fuel.
I first learned of Peanut Butter and Bacon from Cameron Haines. He was recommending them for backpack hunts.
Peanut butter and Miracle whip on toast. Miracle Whip & banana sandwich.
Peanut butter and banana....... thank you..... thank you very much......
Bread, peanut butter, strawberry jam, cheese, deer bologna, with some pickles on the side.
My old man used to eat liverwurst and mustard samiches. It took me a while but I learned to like it!
I love liverwurst with mustard and mayo on a good bread. (Dill pickle chips great as well, but optional.)
Limburger cheese, buttered black rye bread, mustard, and a slice of onion! Sounds bad tastes great
Cucumber and onion with a little mayo on fresh bread. Read about that years ago in one of Nick Lyons “Seasonable Angler” columns.
This one isn't weird, but it sure is good!
Spicy-hot venison salami, sharp cheddar cheese, sweet-and-hot mustard, plus bread and butter pickles on a good multi-grain bread. YUMMY!
What constitutes a 'good bread' would be an interesting thread. I'm tired of the same ol' 12 grain bread I've eaten forever. I'm also snowed in and really bored. :)
Not a sandwich but apple pie and a little horseradish is super good.
God bless, Steve
Kodiak,
Any bread that's still hot right out of the oven is 'good bread!'
You got that right! Good call.
I can remember a long time ago, I'd frequently drop by a nice grocery store with it's own in-store bakery on the SF Peninsula on my way home from work. The store wasn't five minutes from my home.
There were a couple of days each week when they had hot-out-of-the-oven bread on sale late in the afternoon.
I'd often run in and buy a fresh loaf of sourdough and more often than not, half of that loaf would be gone before I got home!
"What constitutes a 'good bread' would be an interesting thread. "
-Communion bread? :)
Eating some of those suggestions would meet the definition of hazing.
One of the best meals I've ever had was in the 70's on Fisherman's Wharf SF. A buddy and I got a tub of butter, a loaf of hot out of the oven sourdough bread and a couple fresh from the steamer crabs.....went out on a dock, sat down and ate it all.
The 'bread' I get in church are those little styrofoam wafers.
Owl,
"Eating some of those suggestions would meet the definition of hazing."
I can only speak for the ones I recommended, but I guarantee you that if you'll try them, you'll come running back for more!
Nva, I'm sure they're great but you'd lose me at the bread. :)
Yeah, those are horrible Kodiak. We get the real deal at my altar rail.
Try peanut butter on hot dogs. Don't be afraid of the ketchup, mustard, relish either.
Ya' know, BACON and anything is a great combination.
I mean, my favorite thing at breakfast is a couple of Bacon and MORE Bacon sandwiches on buttered toast!
My favorite breakfast side dish is an egg over easy and BACON on toast sandwich!
So why not peanut butter and anything?
Liverwurst,mayo,mustard and a cold one..DONE!
Peanut butter, garden fresh tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Hmmmm, A description of "sound" may require a bit of context. I remember one particularly late night with alcohol involved, thinking I invented the next best comfort food...cooking vienna sausages on the exhaust manifold of my jeep and putting them on saltine crackers. At the time, I was a culinary genius.
Bacon fixes everything, even when it ain't broke.
OK Liverwurst/bacon/mayo/mustard/COLD ONE! done.
I'm allergic to peanuts so I can't have peanut butter, but...
"I love liverwurst with mustard and mayo on a good bread. (Dill pickle chips great as well, but optional.)"
Now you're talking!
Ice cream on toast is good too.
1. Peanut Butter and Nutella = can't resist.
2. Liverwurst with anything...
Nutella, bacon, and jalepenos on an everything bagel!
