Pretty extensive list of sporting rifles the Marxists want to confiscate. The link is to the bill introduced to congress. We may just want to start making phone calls and writing letters on this one.

couldn't get it to link: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/5087/text

This bill goes nowhere as the Dems cannot get it out of the House Committee.

But it's yet another way the Dems prove they hate the 2/A and a reminder to us all why we cannot let Nancy Pelosi regain the Speakership!

All LE would need to buy in for "confiscation" to happen and then how many of them would literally do so for a politician, full well knowing they would be in harms way more than usual in certain parts of the country?

Fortunately, we control the House. But, just imagine the alternative outcome of the last Presidential Election!

Illinois Bill Requiring 18-20-Year-Olds to Hand Over Certain Semi-Automatic Firearms Moves to Senate

A bill requiring 18-20 year olds to hand over or transfer ownership of heretofore legally possessed “assault weapons” is gaining sponsors in the Illinois Senate after passing the House last month.

The bill, HB 1465, was sponsored in the House by Rep. Michelle Mussman (D-Schaumburg) and passed by a vote of 64-51 on February 28.

After being introduced in the upper house by Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago), the bill has added seven co-sponsors in the last week. Notable among them was Sen. Jim Oberweis (R-Sugar Grove), the NRA “A” rated 2014 Republican nominee for U.S. Senate.

The NRA-ILA described the weapons covered by HB 1465 as “commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms.” The bill also requires 18-20-year-olds to forfeit ownership of any magazines that hold more than ten rounds of ammunition.

The guns and magazines remain legal for persons 21 and up, but persons under 21 would have 90 days to give up ownership, should HB 1465 become law... (continued at link)

Oberweis is my state senator and he will be getting an email from me, Actually this is surprising as he's normally pro 2A. Not an A+, but still good none the less. CERTAINLY better than the "Crook" County Democrats.

Wasn't there already another thread on this Bill?

As far as confiscation goes, it won't happen in our lives. It'd start a civil war. It's not worth it.

How about HR 5103?

H.R. 5103: 20% Federal Tax on Guns, 50% Tax on Ammo

(internal links)

Danny Davis represents Illinois’ 7th congressional district, smack dab in the middle of Chicago. When he isn’t working on bills that would prevent the U.S. from attacking North Korea (read it here) Rep. Davis busies himself sponsoring and co-sponsoring an arsenal of gun control bills . . .

H.B. 5103 is his latest brainchild. The bill seeks to tax gun rights out of existence. Here are the low lights:

Apply a 20% tax on pistols, revolvers, and firearms other than pistols and revolvers (so all guns)

Apply a 50% tax on ammo

Doubles the special occupation tax for firearms importers

Increases the imported gun dealer tax to 50% of their sales

Increases NFA transfer tax from $200 to $500

Increases AOW tax from $5 to $100

Would reclassify pistols that fire rounds commonly associated with rifles as firearms. Think AR and AK pistols.

Requires an cost of living inflation formula to be applied regularly to the special occupation tax

Should it become law, the bill would vastly increase the cost of gun ownership, hitting the poor hardest. In Rep. Davis’s orange-skied world, only wealthy people would have the privilege of exercising their natural, civil and constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. The wealthy, and agents of the government, of course. How great is that?
