Thoughts on NYC

I will add more, but it was a great experience. People were busy, but mostly friendly and cordial. Most took time to chat if I initiated a conversation and seemed happy to converse if they had time.
They do not have time for the pace I am used to in Kansas. There are too many people and not enough time or space to go slow.
I do not want to ever try to drive in NYC, but the drivers seem to have a code that works for them. We definitely did not see people running red lights like we did in CA and NV. I always felt safe walking the streets, in a taxi, riding Uber, or on the subway.
We were downtown, but I am sure avoided the places and times of day that were not appropriate for us.
I saw fewer tattoos, excessive piercings, and weird hair than I do per capita in KS.
Everybody is a "minority" in NYC. By that I mean that there is no dominant group, just people.
There is far more to do than any one person could possibly get around to doing even if they lived there.
Liberty Enlightening the World is far bigger and more impressive than you can imagine. So are a lot of other things in NYC.
My amazing son is an excellent trip planner and guide - though he had only been in NYC once before this.
Everybody seems to want to get a photo with their hands on the bull's testicles. At least this keeps them shiny.

My wife just pointed out to me that you can see the Statue of Liberty on the right side of the above photo!
I think everyone needs to see it at least once. It is impressive and overwhelming. The part I like best about it is seeing it in my rearview mirror.
bb, I would go back just because there is a lot we did not get to see.
Probably never will, though.
I delivered shrimp for 4 yrs in China Town Manhatten, Brooklyn.
Met some nice people there but I haven't lost anything up there, never wanta go back but I live up state NY
I grew up within sight of the Manhattan skyline (on a clear day), but was only actually there about a dozen times or so.
Meant to say I like up state NY
Living there is a constant state of amazement. Everyone just lives side by side and in relative peace. Diversity does that sometimes. Uptown you’ll have the lower income folks mingling with people that live in penthouses at the local bodega and all is well. NYC is a great example for how the rest of the US can coexist.
And you'd know this how? You don't live there, or are you lying about that too?
You’re so good at stalking people, I’m sure you discovered the years I lived in NY. Fess up WW. I mean I already know about the mail you had sent to my house. Be a man and admit that too.
I'd like to visit NYC someday. I've been to Boston, then traveled to Buffalo NY, then to Niagara Falls. That's as far Northeast I've ever traveled.
There ya go again liar, I don't know a damn thing about your mail or your house. I don't even know where you really live or who you really are because you lie about EVERYTHING. You even lie about your lies.
What I DO know is that you (or one of "you"), PROMISED to leave the CF if Trump was elected and yet you're still here. Don't like being called a liar? Then HONOR YOUR WORD.

Ahhh yes, Briar Cliff Manor. One time home if the Astor’s, Vanderbilt’s, and Rockefeller. Still home to the wealthy. And that diversity you espouse, about 3% of Briar Cliff is black. Not quite what I would call “diverse”. I can see your lips moving, but all I can hear is hypocrisy.
You are correct about briarcliff. Extremely affluent. But who works in the same town where they live? Your assumption is wrong.
No can do on the honor thing, huh Paul? It figures.......
Maybe we could take up a donation for those that want to leave the country...probably wont work though.
Sean Hannidy offered to pay the Hollywood crowd's fare out of the country but I guess it was all talk.
As soon as you admit you’re a stalker, sure!
Glad you had a great trip and didn't experience the uglier side of New York. Giuliani really got the city cleaned up in no time and Bloomberg basically kept it that way for the most part. The current clown in office is letting the city slowly decay back to the bad old days even though money is coming in more than ever.
"Your assumption is wrong."
So you preach diversity, while insulating yourself from it. Gotcha.
You can call me whatever you like because YOU'RE the liar here, not me. It won't matter what YOU say, because you've been proving here for years that your word means nothing.
And I will continue to point that out every time I can when you post. You broke your word, and you're STILL breaking your word everytime you post.
I've been to NYC ounce, didn't really enjoy it. Would like to see the 9/11 memorial though.
Back in the 90's I had to deliver several truckloads of fresh beef in Hunts Point Market, Bronx..I've seen plenty of "bad" places, but if God's ever going to give America an enema, that's where He's going to stick it in.
Trying to get 80' of tractor/trailer around NYC is a nightmare, at best. Been to the Bronx and Queens multiple times, saw Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty from afar. There are of people everywhere..there is no such thing as "quiet", and every time I went there it was like a recurring nightmare. Finally told my dispatcher that I wasn't going back there again. I'd go from the West Coast up into Maine or even Halifax, NS in a heartbeat, but I wasn't going back anywhere near NYC or NE Jersey...they ain't no place for a country boy!

Yeah sure, go hang out around 125th street at 3 in the morning if you want to see peace and harmony or you can go closer to midtown and stroll down 42nd street if you want to get a real dose of diversity.

???? You live in New York?? OOOPS!!! Caught in another LIE! How can that be, when right on your Bowsite registration it says this........
Name: Abe Froman from Pennsylvania Bowsite Handle: "Atheist "
So........WHICH IDENTITY are you lying about?
It was worth the trip just to stand here and think about the greatest president ever.

I had my Madmen days there. Loved every minute. Great city, great people. Way more hunters than you would expect.
Everyone should take a trip and spend time in the city. So many amazing things to experience.
I feel safer in NYC now than I do in many other cities.
I delievered sone shrimp to Long Island back in the late 80s...dont know how it is now but it was like being in a total different place from NYC
I used to run in NYC for the University I attended. We had to have a police escort for CC meets. The same with Philly, and Boston. I wouldn't call any city peaceful. Up here, we leave our keys in our vehicles and doors unlocked. Try that in NYC, better yet, Roxbury, Mass. Go to Southy in Boston and announce that you are Italian in Kelly's bar. I played music in most of those peaceful cities years ago. When the sun goes down, things change. Our manager was Italian, probably Mafiosa. Best manager we ever had. We always got paid. There is a reason why my daughter and husband live in a gated community in Tampa, diversity is so peaceful.
