I was a WWII nut when I was a kid, still am, especially anything to do with the war against Japan in the Pacific...This is awesome! Better yet the photo's are amazing as well as the preservation of everything!

I think they found it last year.... probably just now exploring it. Very cool.

Anyone know why it took so long to find it? 2000 folks were rescued off of it and then we sunk it to prevent it from being captured - so we must have known the location.

Was it just that no one was looking for it until now?

My Uncle Al flew off the Lexington. He volunteered to fly out and lure Jap planes back and landed on it in rough seas and crashed. He went on and ended up as an ace. Finished his career as a test pilot for the Navy.

I just showed my dad WWII navy vet and he teared up at 93 years young .
