The democrats have flipped 39 Republican seats since trump won. I’d call that a significant wave.

Besides, when one party totally dominates at the state level, which is what the GOP has done the past several years, gaining over 700 seats, THANK YOU OBAMA, PELOSI, REID and SCHUMER, it would be astonishing if they didn't lose a few seats at times.
