President Donald Trump Suggests Death Penalty For Drug Dealers [HuffPost] Carla Herreria ,HuffPost•March 10, 2018 President Donald Trump Suggests Death Penalty For Drug Dealers
President Donald Trump suggested drug dealers in the United States should face harsher punishments, such as the death penalty or life in prison, during a campaign rally for congressional candidate Rick Saccone in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
“I think it’s a discussion we have to start thinking about,” Trump said during the rally in Moon Township. “I don’t know if we’re ready. I don’t know if this country’s ready for it.”
Trump suggested the U.S. treat drug dealers in the same way Singapore does. Singapore, he said, has a “zero tolerance policy” when it comes to drugs.
“That means if we catch a drug dealer, death penalty,” Trump said of Singapore. “And they don’t have a problem.”
Trump’s remarks this weekend mirror a speech he made at the White House Opioids Summit last week, when he suggested again that drug dealers should have to face the death penalty.
“Some countries have a very, very tough penalty — the ultimate penalty,” Trump said during last week’s summit. “And, by the way, they have much less of a drug problem than we do.”
Why would you want to kill Lefty Tutu, our entertainment would be gone.
Crap, we can’t get rid of the ones on death row now, why add to it!
Well start "deathing" them! Make room........NEXT!!!
I'm not sure that's the answer. The notorious "White Boy Rick" has been in prison for 30 years for getting tied up in cocaine trafficking when he was a teenager. Many guys who were found guilty of 2nd degree murder did a lot less time than him.....
I am in favor of the death penalty for the most heinous of murderers........ and those who kill cops (executecopkillers.com).......
Looks like Trump is attacking the Constitution again. Doesn'the want the 8th amendment either....
Just for argument sake...What is Cruel and Unusual (8th Amendment) about killing those who choose to supply illegal drugs to people to kill themselves, and or financially drain the system “trying” to get them off the illegal drug they supplied? Life is all about choices. Make good ones, and good things happen. Make bade ones...and well, you can figure out the rest. Going through life with no consequences gets us right where we are now. This is a country of laws, and we need to get back to that.
People can rehab from drugs. If you want to execute criminals please start with the ones who harm children.
bb,
Hardcore drug dealers kill children. Time to fire up old "Sparky".
The Rock
Start with every cop killer and then we can talk. Executecopkillers.com. Child murderers.... Rapists...... Many heinous criminals are living in prison.....
Why not start with cop killers? Why single out one section of society? How does killing a single cop eqate to be more important than a drug dealer killing thousands of people in their lifetime of crime? Splain that and we can talk. Shouldn't all punishment , even within the same crime , be meted out by measure of the individual circumstances of the crime?
Yes it should..... The individual circumstances absolutely must be considered.....
Killing or raping children or elderly are especially heinous,, Aren't they ?? How about if someone attempted to kill the President or the Pope ?? As a Police Officer...... I view it as a crime worthy of the death penalty to kill one of the men or women who put their lives on the line every day as a protector.........
That doesn't mean I wouldn't want a person executed if he killed anyone else. I am in favor of the death penalty for the most heinous crimes. We do not have it in Michigan.
You can't even get a death penalty for people caught red- handed gunning people down in this country!
If they captured, tied their "victims" up and gave them the the worst of the most addictive drugs known against their will...... yeah, fry em. My understanding is it happens in human trade crimes..... but not the norm.
Some folks have a pretty Hollywood screwed up view of reality..... drug dealers aren't running people down in the streets and tackling them to get them hooked. It is they who are looking for the dealer (and willing to pay them as well).... not the other way around. It's pretty much like when you had your first beer. It was illegal if you were underage. Whoever got it for you was literally a "dealer". You become an alcoholic..... so the people who got you started drinking should be executed?
Opiates are a yuge problem right now. A great many addicts can be traced back to prescriptions from doctors for pain.... sometimes chronic pain. Wanna fry these folks too?
Sometimes the wheels come off here on the CF...... SMH.......
Exactly ^^^. A hand to hand deal for a bag of weed in Michigan is a felony without a medical marijuana card. Should we execute a 17 year old kid for a hand to hand sale of a bag of weed ??
Which drug dealers should get death? CEOs of opioid drugs? Seems they cause more death than a guy selling bags of weed.
Killing Pharma dealers would be murder because they are approved by the state to deal drugs. State sanctioned drug dealing is ok......
Sen Claire here in Missouri did a report on Pharma companies, except the one that donated to her......hmmm
WW Well start "deathing" them! Make room........NEXT!!! This! LMAO!
Liberals would scream violation of the 8th AD.
Anyone cooking or selling meth, gets death. Selling an oz of weed, no. But lets first get rid of murderers, rapists, child and animal abusers, etc.
How about all the little kiddies which might include some of yours that buy drugs and enable the dealers. Lets kill all them too.
How about all the little kiddies which might include some of yours that buy drugs and enable the dealers. Lets kill all them too.
Simple question...How badly do you want to do away with the illegal usage of drugs? As with most things, it’s either all in or hands off. The hands off approach hasn’t worked to well.
The death penalty should be for those that commit murder, rape, and petifiles.
How bad do you want it Mike ?? Enough to execute a 17 year old kid for dealing a bag of weed in high school ??
Local law enforcement tells me almost all of the rural meth (at least in our area) comes from Mexico now. Almost no cookers anymore since the crackdown on suda-epinephrine or whatever it is.
Maybe we should secure our damn border first. Apparently they're bringing meth over in f'ing semi-trucks!
If there were once again consequences for ones own actions, you would only have to do away with a few of them to get your point across. Illegal is illegal. No gray area to try and tangle one’s emotions into.
So your answer is yes ?? Execute a 17 year old kid if you catch him dealing a baggie of marijuana ?? If it was your son I highly doubt you'd stick to that.
You deal meth, heroin, fentanyl, opioids or any hard rug that kills and are guilty the death penalty is in order. You gave that death penalty to all the families that lost a loved one so you could profit. My kid investigates these overdose deaths every day and yes a lot of it comes from Mexico.
BB, You know who we are talking about, hardcore drug dealers. Don't make it out to be so cinematic with the 17 year old analogy.
The Rock
So there is a grey area ?? Mike said there's not. Just trying to clarify.....
Not going to go this for tat with you BB. Wrong is wrong. You claim to be an officer of the law, but to make up excuses and throw drama into the mix tells me otherwise. Do you arrest, or look the other way when it doesn’t fit your thoughts of what is right and what is wrong? The law is Black and White, not Gray. You should know this.
The world is full of two types of people...those who get things accomplished, and those that ask “what if” at every opportunity when things aren’t going their way.
"So there is a grey area ?"
There is an area for due process.
they need to stop arresting people and start helping them get off drugs. No amount of Killing drug dealers is going to do anything as long as there are drug users.
KPC, illegally selling a gun to a criminal should incur some liability for the seller.
Mike. The law is black and white..... And the law does not permit the death penalty in our state.
I do my job properly.....according to the law. I take offense that you would even suggest otherwise.
The law is black and white in our state..... No death penalty...... Right ??
So you disagree with the law,, right ?? I thought the law is black and white ??
The ignorance shown here is overwhelming sometimes. Thank goodness at this point we are still a Country of laws not emotions.......
The Democrats are all upset because Trump wants to kill off the D's voter base.
Third time addict tests positive for drugs they go to jail. Do not pass go or collect $200.
I'm in favor of death sentence but it must be done in 30-45 days after conviction. That gives them time to say goodbye to the family. Setting in jail for 15-25 years breathing our good air doesn't service any good purpose.
You personally take a life in a commission of a crime you give your's. No and, if or buts. That would effectively put to rest all the speculation about ridiculous scenario's that are concocted. BB, The law may be law and penned in black and white on PAPER. The law to the letter rarely transfers to real life when indictments or arrests are pursued. I must abide by the law but don't have to agree with it.
The Rock
True. I must enforce the laws but I don't have to agree with them all. As I stated.... I am in favor of the death penalty for the most heinous crimes.... We do not have the death penalty in Michigan.....
The war on drugs has been a failure. Just imagine what a stunning success the war on guns will be. Right up there with the war on poverty. When you hear the government say we are here to help you, run like hell.
The war on drugs just might be a failure but just think of where we would be if we never entered that war. Nobody else seems to have a viable solution. At least something was being done even if it hardly put a dent in it. Hard core upper king pen drug dealer get the death penalty... "IF" we can catch them. pretty big if. Seems we cant just go into Mexico or any other country to arrest them so Im with Bake. Put the wall up, control the boarders first.
BB has a point. Law enforcement officers don't make some of the stupid laws we have.
I hate drugs just like I hate a lot of things out there but the war on drugs is a joke.
Alcohol does as much damage as drugs. I get into some heated debates with some of my Christian friends and family members about this subject.
My argument to them is that there are a lot of things that are sins against God, but do we make laws so that people could potentially be arrested, convicted, and jailed for adultrey, lying to your spouse, pride, jealousy, materialism, intoxication in the privatcy of your own home, racism, ect.
I believe in personal responsibility and until an individual does something that endangers another individual, it really isn't the govermments business..
You sell drugs to minors that's a whole other thing.
As far as capital punishment goes I think anyone that murders someone in cold blood should be put to death but only when there is no reasonable doubt.
Human life is sacred and when an individual deliberately takes that life they should be put to death.
Killing someone in self defense as in a police officer doing their duty or in warfare, is not murder
Drug dealers do in fact know beforehand the consequences of their actions and therefore could be considered in the commission of a crime (distribution of illegal drugs) as a premeditated act if one of their customers should die, but don't dream. The laws read differently because our justice system is designed from top to bottom purposely and dependent to enhance the economic juggernaut that it has become. Imagine the economic consequences of the death penalty being executed at dawn the next day. Everyone in the chain of justice, down to the prison guards would lead a revolt unlike this nation had ever seen. Our justice system is the epitome of the trick of the fox triumphing over the justice of the lion and everyone is on board because their pocket is their conscience. Money: as I have stated on countless occasions.... "makes you do things you really do not want to do"....and to that end the drug dealers and the nets of the law are twin brothers.
The Rock
The justice system has become a money makin racket for trial lawyers and others.
Sad thing is the officers out there on the street puttin their lives on the line..bringin the thugs in that commit violent crimes and these panty waste judges and trial lawyers work their system and some guy with a pot conviction gets more time than a violent criminal.
16 yrs ago I was considering getting in to law enforcement but my wife and others advised me not to..they were right.
Takes a strong individual to be able to handle that field of work, I would probably be a basket case in a year with all the crap they have to deal with.
LE should have a bobble head constructed in their likeness celebrating how many times they shake their head at the verdict where they put their life on the line.
Disgrace..but who cares about them for they are merely dog catchers.. The wheel keeps spinning and spitting out dead presidents and all but the few keep smiling and coordinating backroom deals. No bullet proof vest or body armor needed.

This is why the death penalty needs to be used sometimes.
"A cold-blooded killer who gunned down two New York City police officers nearly half a century ago is set to walk free after he was granted parole."
"Jones died instantly while Piagentini – who had been shot more than a dozen times – begged for his life, the Associated Press reported. Bell finished him off with the cop’s own gun."
Hardcore drug dealers: dead. Period. Talk to some parents whose 10 and 12 yrs olds died from the scum of the local drug dealers who preyed upon them like animals in places like Philly. Innocent beautiful children. Fuqn right I want them dead, and just before they are dead revive them and kill them again. Dead and gone.
The Rock
The world and everything in it would not be enough to save one child.

Aside from liberal courts, judges and lawmakers the fact is that it cost more to execute a criminal than it does to put one in prison. The cost to the taxpayers is far greater for a criminal on death row due to appeals, hence the reason most criminals spend years and decades in prison.
Now if the laws are changed that those crimes worthy of the death penalty are allowed one or maybe even two appeals then we might get somewhere.
Kathi, in cases where it is 100% sure that the criminal is known, the trial should be the next day and the hanging the following day.
Are doctors and pharmacists considered drug dealers? I've seen their products kill people, too.
A illegal drug dealer is no more guilty than a illegal drug buyer, IMO.
Matt
Unlike murderers, rapists and victims..... dealers and buyers have a symbiotic relationship..... most murder victims don't willingly go the murderer, sometimes driving around for hours looking for them and ask to be murdered. Talk to a drug addict. They don't see the dealer as their antagonist.... the dealer is a result, not a cause.....
Real easy to play fast and loose with other's very lives, their family and friends..... especially when no effort nor conscious remorse or introspection is necessary on their part. Wishing, cheer leading and doing.... and living with what you have done.... very different things.
Ghost a pharmacist job is not to get you addicted. As the end user of the drug its your responsibility. A dealers job is to get you addicted so you become a regular dependent user. Example a heroin dealer stamps his product with a red dragon because he wants the users to know who's it is. He knows his product is more potent than others on the street. The regular users want the good stuff and know to look for red dragon. They can handle it but the new user gets ahold of the product and they die. The dealer is only interested in the money and fatalities don't matter. They should be executed!
Trax was right. Except in Texas and Florida, there is no death penalty in the US. Death qualifying a jury adds a lot of time. Public defenders will file hundreds of motions for any trial, and appeal everything under the sun later, delaying things for decades. it takes a huge amount of resources to prosecute such cases.
....not when the gavel drops and at dawn the next day they stretch some 5 strand hemp. The only motions would be twitching feet and that is the way all death penalties should be handled.
Comparing Willie the Pimp pushing illegal street drugs to children knowing full well that death could be and has been the result vs. doctors and Pharms is ridiculous. If doctors or Pharms would dispense their drugs ILLEGALLY, they would then ride shotgun in Willie's Pimp Mo-Bile and walk up the same steps.
Comparing apples and oranges. Ridiculous and ludicrous.

come to philippines and see what happens to drug dealers and pushers! shot on site! no judge jury or jail. duterte don’t screw around and his hits squads and police ha s the green light.
Pappy, we aren’t the Philippines. We have a constitution and due process. The Philippines had. A pseudo dictator w a hard on for authoritarianism. Let’s not have that here huh?
Pappy. Good post. Here in the US, The thugs have more rights than the law abiding citizen.
we all have had to put up with all the due process and nothing happens! the lawyers plea bargain for these scums and they walk free all at the expense of the tax payer and if one does get jail or prison time again the taxpayer pays. time to learn hardcore justice like other countries do and your problem is greatly reduced and these scums know that if caught justice is served instantly!??
You want to follow the Philippines ?? Really ?? Maybe we should start shitting in the street. No judge or jury ?? Is it that what you want ?? We're the greatest nation in the world...... We don't need to look to the Philippines to run our Government.
I like the fact that the cops can’t just shoot me on sight. But that’s just me. I love the constitution. Unlike a lot of the self appointed “conservatives “ here.
Get real. Philippines....lord help us.
Henry, it's impossible to have the trial the next day. His defense attorneys are entitled to have time to prepare. Any criminal case has speedy trial laws to contend with. Unless the speedy trial rules are waived, the charges are dismissed on a certain date if the trial has not started. Six months from date of arraignment here in state court.
Everyone has things they’re for and against.
What is interesting to me about human behavior is this:
Politics. When it’s your guy calling for age restrictions, it’s just good business.
When it’s not your guy, he’s a gun grabber.
Another example is when people say, well it won’t affect me. So let’s do it.
But yet when it does affect them, they’re up in arms.
I have never been one to tell another man how to live. What he can and can’t do and I sure as hell don’t want more laws passed. We have enough. In fact, I’d like to really reverse a lot of stuff.
As far as the comparison to other countries, this fits right in with what I am talking about.
If we’re gonna prosecute criminals the way other countries do, why stop There? Why not get the socialized medicine? Why not just romp on the gas pedal towards just one world government? Why not differentiate?
Hell, Venezuela is holding a Utahn prisoner right now. Been there for quite some time. Should we just start doing the same thing?
Around my house, there’s been a man living in his van. He moves it around, goes from area to area. Do I like it? Not really.
But here’s what I do like, that I live in a country where when people call the cops, (he hasn’t done anything) that they can’t just come and arrest because somebody doesn’t like it.
BB, American Founders clearly desired to emulate the best idea's and elements of other countries most notably the Roman Empire where the death penalty was commonplace. Hell, America adopted the Roman National Eagle as its own National Symbol and Roman inspired Latin is all over our currency. The Seal of the U.S is in Roman Latin for God's sake.
Your selectively cherry picking the undesirable attributes of a country and totally discounting the success of a justice system that appears to work quite well in regards to illegal drug distribution.
Dconcrete
"I like the fact that the cops can’t just shoot me on sight. But that’s just me. I love the constitution...... You gotta be kiddin' me.
bk, List the time frames of a "speedy trial" in the U.S. Don't forget the delay's and motions that may be involved and how long a trial may truly span.
Speedy. I don't think so.
The Rock
So Pappy said no judge no jury no jail..... shot on site.... for drug dealers in the Philippines....... That's the justice system that appears to work quite well Rock ???
We could start cutting off thieves hands too..... I think that would curb the theft in our nation.
Gotta be kidding you what rock? You want to live where the cops can just shoot you because law allows? Guess what?? With your financial resources, you can!!
BB, "we all have had to put up with all the due process and nothing happens! the lawyers plea bargain for these scums and they walk free all at the expense of the tax payer and if one does get jail or prison time again the taxpayer pays. time to learn hardcore justice like other countries do and your problem is greatly reduced and these scums know that if caught justice is served instantly!?? There you go again. "So Pappy said".... Read it again. Your knee jerk reactions are getting a bit scary for a LEOI. I did not say I agree with everything Pappy posted. I replied to the latter post. What is the problem with his last post? You don't agree, or shall I wait for your consoling brown nose BD buddy to tell you what to say?
Dconcrete,
Where do you think you live? once gain...you gotta be kiddin' me. I said this before and I will say it again. The Constitution is not worth the parchment it was penned upon and if you can't see the way it gets trampled upon there is no hope.
The Rock
The death penalty is probably not going to solve the problem. Mainly people who sell drugs are from broken families and they want to escape poverty. Give people more normal jobs, not so expensive college education. Yeah, you can kill them, but that probably not going to stop someone who has nothing to lose.
