Speaker Paul Ryan is set to pass the largest spending bill in US history next to Barack Obama’s trillion dollar failed stimulus.
President Trump spoke on Monday about the importance of the border wall with Mexico to enhance national security and battle the opioid crisis in America.
But once again it is unlikely that funding for the border wall will be included in the spending bill.
Democrats don’t want it.
So it is unlikely Ryan will include it in the bill.
Planned Parenthood and funding for sanctuary cities will be included in the bill.
We have people that think this is not a problem. To dumb to see the ramifications that will come when their kids have to pay for 30 million illegal immigrants. No one can say they won't until they can prove that every single one of them is paying taxes on their income and, not receiving government subsidized funds without doing so. Plain and simple, the dead beats do not want to held accountable to the same set of rules that legal Americans must live by but, want all the benefits for being here. That's called dead weight. It has and will continue to ruin this country until we control immigration.
Not doing so will enable people to continue this cycle. Heck, if I didn't have to pay taxes and was able to receive benefits, I'd have it made too. Liberals disgust me when they propose to give these people a free pass. It WILL destroy life here for future Americans. I don't mind and highly encourage the illegals to become citizens. As do all of us. What about that is so hard or unfair? Nothing. It's just a pawn in the game of party politics. It's sickening and, maddening at the same time to watch fellow Americans confuse that.

They don’t. They aren’t eligible. The burden they place on the taxpayer is due to emergency medical costs, education, and supplemental nutrition programs through WIC. They aren’t eligible for any other form of welfare or government subsidy. The linked article describes what, why, and how illegal immigrants pay taxes.
Good grief only Trump would build a wall. You can fund drones for a lot cheaper and they would be much more effective using all the technology they would be able to patrol a lot more area more effectively.
A wall is an ancient solution that has proven to not work.
Drones would scare the crap out of people.
They aren’t.
So, how much do illegal immigrants cost federal, state and local governments in the U.S.? Estimates vary widely, and no consensus exists. The Urban Institute put the net national cost at $1.9 billion in 1992; a Rice University professor, whose work the Urban Institute criticized, said it was $19.3 billion in 1993. More recently, a 2007 report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office examined 29 reports on state and local costs published over 15 years in an attempt to answer this question. CBO concluded that most of the estimates determined that illegal immigrants impose a net cost to state and local governments but "that impact is most likely modest." CBO said "no agreement exists as to the size of, or even the best way of measuring, that cost on a national level."
It’s pretty easy to tell when there illegal. They show up on a job site as Jose and the next job site they are Juan.
“Over the past two decades, most efforts to estimate the fiscal impact of immigration in the United States have concluded that, in aggregate and over the long term, tax revenues of all types generated by immigrants—both legal and unauthorized—exceed the cost of the services they use.”
That doesn’t even include the other economic benefits immigrants (even illegals) provide by lowering the cost of goods we consume, which far exceeds any net tax benefit they provide. Nice try, DL.

You want to argue these points then fine. The economic aspects aren’t up for debate. Milton Friedman will tell you so himself.
If they are here illegally they are breaking the law and the government can force them to leave. Another thing...what about the immigrants that go through the ref tape and cone here legally? Is it fair to them? No.
I find it funny that people have a problem with laws against illegal immigrants, which is an area the gov actually has authority, but they are ok with the gov over stepping their boundaries in every other area of our lives.
You can't legislate morality. But you can mitigate the effect of its absence. You can't legislate human sexuality. But you can mitigate its negative effects. You guys who think inner city kids are going to stop screwing because you evangelize to them are dreaming. You'll get a few of them. Most will continue to screw and pop out fatherless babies to teenage children mothers from broken homes born into a self-perpetuating poverty. That is the culture and you cannot change it.
The only thing stemming that tide is free birth control pills and abortions. I'm sorry you don't like it. I don't like it either. But I find is exceptionally hypocritical that most of the loudest advocates against Planned Parenthood and abortion are the people that whole-heartedly supported our most recent wars, Desert Storm and the 2nd Iraq war, that each killed 6-digit Iraqis and most of it done to protect our great country's interests (I'm not arguing the wars weren't the right thing to do), yet, oppose abortion and free birth control pills on grounds that it's immoral. Why is it ok for our military to kill 100,000 people in a year and not babies that will grow up to gangsters and thugs? And most of what Planned Parenthood does, is supply birth control to these girls. You really have a problem with that? Are you guys a bunch of Catholics?
Guess what guys, our great country's interests are served by the eventuality of what Planned Parenthood does. It keeps inner city teenagers from having 3 kids by the time they're 20. It's no different than our wars: some eggs broken to make an omelet. We are right to look out for our own interests and do what's best for American society. In the world we live in, you can't do that without some casualties.
Don't be a hypocrite and subscribe to some Utopian ideal, where everything can be perfect all the time, like the liberals you so freely excoriate.
I agree we cant legislate morality but we can protect the innocent. Why have laws against rape or murder? The above post is a good example why we are coming apart as a society.
It's just a nuanced form of slavery. Nothing new under the sun.
I generally enjoy your arguments to the contrary BEG but you're dead wrong here. Food stamps, health care, schooling(all of which illegals have access to) are on the shoulders of taxpayers. Illegals can get false identifications so easy now which allows them to take advantage of any entitlement programs we have.

"The burden they place on the taxpayer is due to emergency medical costs, education, and supplemental nutrition programs through WIC."
OK junior, which is it...?
That’s the first I’ve heard about the ease at which immigrants can commit fraud to benefit from welfare. Can you cite evidence to support that claim?
Legally, they can’t get food stamps or housing subsidies. Healthcare costs aren’t exactly discretionary in the sense that most people only see a doctor when there’s a medical issue. You can’t live or create a lifestyle off of healthcare in the same way you can other forms of welfare.
I’m not arguing their costs are zero. But every economic argument I’ve ever heard against illegal immigration quotes the costs and ignores the benefits. From an economic perspective, there really is no argument - unless you don’t believe free markets are beneficial.
That’s not to say we don’t need controls and security. However, IMO, the societal ills of illegal immigration are vastly over states and the economic benefit of illegal immigration are vastly understated in most arguments. Our goal should be secure borders AND a way to facilitate a freer labor market.
The wall is mystifying to me. Maybe because I dont live in a part of the country where I'm seeing folks jump the border. "We" want a government that minimizes taxation and streamlines expenses to keep costs per taxpayer as low as possible, but then we want to spend billions on a wall that will require upkeep and likely wont work. It feels like guns to me, lets just enforce the laws we have, maybe snug em up to help weed out the bad apples. For the border, fund more border patrol work and maybe something like various aerial surveillance systems to catch the bad guys as often as possible. Way cheaper and likely just as or more effective.
HDE, the response was largely to Bent's false belief that illegals are a burden on taxpayers in areas that they largely receive no benefits. He said "The people that don't want the wall, how many ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are you willing to come into your home, and give them a place to live, pay for their food, and insurance???" Taxpayers aren't paying for those things for illegals now. They are ineligible to receive the following federal benefits: Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP), Disability (Supplemental Security Income), food stamps (SNAP), health insurance via the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and housing subsidies.
They do receive emergency medical care, their kids can get schooling in many instances, and they are eligible for some assistance from WIC (WIC's entire budget in 2017 was $5 bln, of which illegals used a fraction).
I've never said they don't incur costs. I've said they are ineligible to receive nearly all types of federal aid, they pay more in taxes than they receive in direct federal aid, and they are most certainly a net benefit on the economy.
Hitler has nothing on this culture.
After all a boot-licker has to lick...........
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi trumpeted her party’s successes in the negotiations over the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill in a statement released late Wednesday.
While Democrats had not managed to secure a solution for the so-called “Dreamers” — a major demand of the progressive activist base of the party — she boasted that she had funded many Democratic spending priorities.
Crucially, she said, Democrats had prevented Trump from building his wall, restricting new spending on border security to secondary fencing.
The 2,232 page Omnibus bill includes a specific clause barring funding for a wall on the southern border that mirrors the new prototypes already there.

Line up the illegals and deport them. The wall is purely for show and a talking point; total waste of money.

Going into Mexico from the US is fairly easy. As easy as walking through the turnstile. No questions asked. Mexicans need nothing to reenter Mexico. They may be asked questions at random stops but need no paperwork. There is no real contact even with US officials when leaving the US. Apparently flying Mexico checks paperwork. If you have more than $300 cash they tax you on it..... they figure folks that fly have money on them......
Coming back is a different matter. Passport required.
Senator Rand Paul: I’m flipping through the pages today reading the bill. I find out there is money for border security… in Tunisia and Jordan! We have border security money in the Middle East but not border security money in the US.
And we wonder why they want more tax dollars. Makes me sick.
He just proved he is bonner II

There was a lot of sky falling over the tarrifs but look how quickly that is turning to our good. The cover promised trade war. The inside of the book said make a deal. This will be no different. I for one cannot wait to see the faces of Pelosi and Schumer and ilk when the plan comes through.
God bless, Steve
So you would rather enable planned parenthood to butcher babies and sanctuary cities to hide rapists, murders, and pedophiles with the money that could be going to a secure wall?
That tells me what kind of person you are. You can not have a safe nation without a strong border.
The wall is a pawn in the game and nothing more. Waste of money. The wall won't make the border "strong", only give the talkers something to pat themselves on the back for.
Pretty powerful statement.
Via Washington Examiner:
Charging that illegal immigration has endangered national security and America’s law enforcement and first responders, a huge collection of sheriffs have joined to demand that Congress fund President Trump’s wall and campaign to close the border.
“Without border security and immigration reform, more Americans will continue to be victims of crime. Now is the time to act,” said a letter signed by 380 sheriffs from 40 states.
The unified front was orchestrated by outspoken immigration critic Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson of Bristol County, Mass.
He said on Wednesday, “We’re calling on Congress to take action now, on the security issues at the border and against sanctuary policies in our states, cities and towns.”
