Awesome article in defense of hunting. The guy who wrote it also wrote a great book called "In Defense of Hunting" which is a great read as well.

yes, his book is great also. The article is from 2006 which makes sense since there wouldn't be any 82 yr old WWII veterans in 2018.

Mint - that's interesting, I missed that on the pub date. That may be close to when "In Defense of Hunting" was published. Feels like it was early-mid 2000's.

It is a good article but I will say that I have met quite a few hunters on public land in western states that were the definition of the slob hunter. Bragging about taking 100+ yard shots on game, poaching, poison pods, party hunting, you name it. A number of them were arrested....one time I saw the same guy getting arrested 5 years later and 150 miles from the first time I saw him getting arrested.
