Cards on the table.....I rush to click when I see a RED LINED Outfitter report on the lower right side of the new title page of BS. I truly enjoy the outfitter rebuttals. I wish Pat would install an "Outfitter/Disgruntled hunter" sub forum......would be so funny...... I have a sneaking suspicion that I am not alone in my guilty pleasure.....
Anyway, did you read the recent one about the guy and his $2200 Maine Black Bear Hunt??? Did he kill a bear or not?
The recent Bear Track Outfitters one is pretty good. My favorite is under the outfitter name: "County Line Fish and Game."

What gets me is when a hunter posts a bad review here, and where it says "was the outfitter notified of the problem" they answer "no"
Glad you are revamping & tweaking the design. Also I wish more bowsiters would use the review section. For some outfitters, like say just for one example, the Canada sheep & caribou outfits, I know there are dozens & dozens of bowsite guys who've gone with them, but virtually no reviews exist. Also, when I see a bad "red" review, I notice very often it's done by non-bowsite-regulars. People must be using google to look for a place to b!tch about their hunt, and upon finding bowsite's review section, place their review, and then are never seen here again. I don't know how to do it, but I wish somehow you could incentivize more of our bowsite regulars to do reviews. Thorough reviews from well-known bowsite archery guys are much more useful than those of random internet drifters.
sticksender, I agree. I know of an Alaskan outfitter who is downright terrible and not a single review exists on the guy. People have even referenced a crappy hunt with him on here but no reviews exist. You owe it to your fellow hunters to share when you had a bad hunt. At the same time, you owe it to your outfitter to share when you had a great hunt.
Pat, when can we expect the Bad Hunters review section for the outfitters to share their stories? That should drive some traffic! Ha!

The funniest outfitter report/rebuttal I've ever read...
I'm here. What do you want to know?
Sticks link--lol!!! "My 5 yr old grandson has more sand than this pu$$y*. Wow!
lol @ stick's link.
On a side note, there's too many deerslayer handles. I always confuse guys up.
The line about the grandson having more sand than this pussy had me rolling but this line set me back in my chair a little bit...
"First off he says I was drunk when I picked him up at the Airport on Sat. I haven,t had a drink before noon since I was 16 yrs old & everyone that knows me knows this to be a fact."
Haven't had a drink BEFORE NOON since you were 16? WOW!
That guy obviously knows you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning!
It's hunting. Sometimes things just don't work, or stuff happens. I was on an elk hunt with a friend, on a private ranch, when we came upon a cow with three legs stuck in the cattleguard. Fine. Hunt stopped, we went to the ranch, told them, and got some stuff to help get the cow out. Big cow, worth about $3500 at the spot market. Took us a few hours, and a little sweat. So what? They thanked us, and later that day, we were taken to a herd of about 150 elk, and good things happened.
Likewise, my first trip to Shiloh Ranch I did not get a pig. My second trip, I didn't even get a shot, but had one opportunity with a 2nd pig behind it. But I saw plenty of hogs. Was it a bad hunt? No, there were plenty of animals. I just had crappy luck because of swirling winds and damp conditions.
You can be the best outfitter in the state, and be foiled by a freak 3 foot snowstorm. I recall at Three Forks, one fellow shot a good 4x4 mulie, went up to it, and kicked it, saying it was the smallest buck he'd ever shot. My buddy shot a yearling cow, and instead of being a jackass about it, he said, I pulled the trigger on it, my choice, and I'm happy with it.
Some folks have too much of their egos involved in their hunts. This is supposed to be fun. What's the best hunt of my life? Why, the very next one....
I spent two hours reading these this morn and never saw that one. FOR SURE the best one stick. Thanks for posting.
I think the one with habitat and bear track is the most realistic. Two guys with different expectations. Neither is happy about the situation and neither will take the back seat. When I was in hs, we'd just duke it out to find out who was either right or the winner. Either one worked for us.

And another "satisfied" client who was also in camp with the other poster
Yup.. definitely the best one yet. These are great!
You guys are right, our egos sometimes get in the way of doing what is right.
Ron, please sell or raffle my bear rug and skull and use the proceeds to help a wounded warrior pay for a hunt. I think Charlie posted one just recently.
Thanks all for the help in getting over this!
