They woke me two nights ago, there were three of them sounding off thought there was going to be a elk fight. They sounded off for about 15 minutes then nothing.

Bulging in Central CO. Got 4 different bugles Saturday morning but none wanted to fight. I even toned it down for the first two but no takers.

Nothing around 12,000' in central CO all weekend. Except "maybe" another hunter, or two. Plenty of elk running up high though.

When we were around a good sized herd the bulls were going nuts, cows doing estrus buzz, and bulls fighting. Singles were timid until tonight when the partner bugled in a screamer.

I've seen and heard more rut action than I ever have in August...had a beauty 6 pt push a dozen cows across my back hill this morning all worked up and bugling. Must've been the eclipse ??
