There are miles of old decommissioned railroad tracks around. We have them around here that clubs use that members have those old motorized work rigs. These are pedal cars that carry up to 4 people pedaling rubberized wheels are quiet too

Friend of mine made a bicycle one. Had an outrigger to help keep it stable. Turns out he was a better engineer than machinist as the outrigger wheel came off at about the 3 mile mark.

It wouldn't work here in WI. The RR companies would write you a trespassing ticket. You can't even cross tracks to get to public land. Even though the RR companies were given the land by the government, and they pay no taxes on it.

RutnStrut - I don't think that applies to decommissioned railroad tracks in Wis.

Tracks I was talking about were in West Texas.

Decommissioned tracks get removed fairly quickly in Wisconsin and become bycycle paths. Don't think he was suggestion going on current operating mainline tracks. That would come to a quickly and tragic end.
