Cade, my 222 was under powered for a 500 yard shot. The wind was gusting to 25mph. Being a bow hunter and not a long range rife shooter, I like to call them in to a long bow shot even with the 222cal.

Justin, Should have hunted in the morning when the wind was calm but I elected to ice fish for trout. Caught 6 and had 3 for dinner.

my best, Paul

Zoom camera lens brings them in close.

In that kind of wind, at that range, it would have been a poke and a hope with most any caliber gun, for most any shooter. Especially, with light bullets.

Better luck killing him next time. I hate it when a coyote gets away. However, three trout for dinner makes for a great day either way.

God Bless men

My 22-250 with 40 gr. vmax at 3900 would have made quick work of him.............if I could have made the shot ! :)
