Great story, Pedro. Congrats
Pedro my friend, another great adventure and though I'd read about it earlier ;), we can never get enough of this! Have a great year, and remember the offer is still open for a KS Whitetail or Pronghorn hunt...not quite as exotic...but I think you'd enjoy the challenge!
Kyle
I thought the Bongo was a animal with limited nubers in the wild , Have they made a comeback in recent years , Louis
Fantastic story! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Really cool story and an awesome Bongo!!!
What an awesome looking creature! Wow
CNN said they were endangered last year. A bad as the Polar Bear Mis- info. Best mounts.......Bongo and Polar bear - Full body
And they say money can't buy you happiness. Give me enough for a Bongo hunt and I'll let you know!! Nice family that enjoy great adventures!!
Most African game (other than dangerous game) doesn't do much for me personally but the Bongo is really a good looking animal and hunting them looks like a unique adventure.
Thanks all for your kind comments, its nice to listen that you liked the story!
Kyle, nice to hear from you! I may be going more often to US this year, so I will let you know just in case I end up in Kansas one day. It would be a good time meeting you.
Bongos are not, and have not been endangered for my understanding. ten years ago as I said I was hunting there, and 20 before my father was hunting close also. I suppose it hard to really know the population, since the are is so wild and thick.
We met those days in the airport a guy that was hunting close by on another camp, he saw together 11 bongos!! thats nuts!
I will upload some more pics.
This post was repeated if someone could erase it..
Extrem Predator
This time since we have got two bongo at house shoulder mounted, i am going to do something diferent, putting the bongo on a typical pygmy pack with some of my arrows, etc..
More or less like this..

Cool idea for a mount, definitely different, congrats to you and your Dad on a successful hunt for unique trophies and thanks for sharing the story.
Cool hunt--I went to Cameroon once--went across the Chari river from Chad. Its definitely something to see. Some of the poorest people on earth live in that nation--along with some of the most corrupt governments--I share in your experience of waiting for 'papers' and approvals from 'officials'. Its always an adventure in Africa!
Thanks for sharing your hunt with us here Pedro. Amazing how dense the forest is there. I bet you had pretty messed up feet after hunting in all that water and heat. Sad to me to see the habitat being destroyed like it is.
